What other games are we all playing?

Speaking personally, I have little interest in multi-player survival games. I tried that a couple times with Minecraft, and I either ended up going far from other players so I could find the resources I needed, or going far from other players to get away from certain personality types. If I’m going to inevitably try to get away from other players, I’d rather just play it single player.
I also don't enjoy MP survival. Or MP in general. Or survival in general. I think multiplayer is bad for survival games. They're much better enjoyed as a solitary experience, not a competitive one. That being said, I played Age of Conan for quite a while, on my own on a provate server. And it was really great. And bouncy. :D

At the moment I play Terraria with my son, since we're in lockdown and bound to stay at home as much as possible.
On Xbox it's on par with the pc version now with the difference that we can play in couch co-op splitscreen which is fun.
It's a simple but challenging game and very good for having some fun together.

I've owned Mad Max for years and never played it. Finally dusted it off and gave it a chance...boy am I glad that I did. It's a brilliantly executed open world adventure game with a fantastic environment, aesthetic and mechanics. You ARE the road warrior when you slip behind the wheel.

Good to see you back J.B. 7 days without a word, I was wondering, if you were OK?

Not interested. I don't need some lolsquad stomping down my sandcastle project while I'm still building it. In fact, I don't need any MP in my building games.

Yes, you ranted about it already in the Starbase thread and that is not the case. Im amazed that you still rant as i have given the answer and you can also find the answer from the games info.

  • megastations is inside ungriefable safe zone which reaches very far
  • you can go mining and still be inside the safe zone
  • not even the damage models has any effect inside safe zone
  • you can build your own megatations eventually with their own safe zones
  • safe zones are not completely unbreachable, and it all depends on your defenses

But if you cant check the facts you are free to dwell in your misinformation.

HOMEWORLD games are on sale for a really great price on Steam! This includes the remastered originals and the newer surface-based game. I gotta get these :D

It was down to lancelord mentioning:

....Because unlike ED, it doesn't appear to have separate instancing for PvP and PvE game play.

What you call misinformation I call increased disinterest for games that try to mash PvP and Pve into one. It's just a hard sell.

I stand corrected then.

But to clarify, theres everything for everyone in Starbase. Its not all about pvp and theres really promising sounding mechanics making room for both playstyles.
Also for the record, i hate pvp, i have never done it, never liked it and never will, still i am very excited about the game. :)

Oh, forgot to mention..

Theres a place in Starbase where gankers end up when they break the rules too much and its called Saltberia. True story. ;)

Well, if the lessons learned from "Sixteen times the detail!" and "It just works!" Fall of 76 is any indicator, then you're in for a lot of major disappointment in the future. Particularly where devs exploit HD res/graphics as a marketing tool to sell/preorder their new titles (Yes Anthem. Looking directly at you). The industry norm is now apparently using HD graphics as a detractor/cover up for crappy to non existent game design and/or lacking in any meaningful game content.

There's also that game-which-will-not-be-named-here with super high fidelity graphics that has yet to be released to date. Highly immersive environment but completely lacking in terms of fundamentals/working game play mechanics.

Graphics do NOT = a good or superior game.....

edit: why do you suppose Minecraft or Gary's Mod (which isn't even a game) look like crap. Yet remain insanely popular on PC/console games after over a decade to date? Gary's mod alone has yet to fall out of top 20 games on Steam's Top 100 to date.

Wallpaper Engine is out on Steam for $3.99 USD!

O.K. So this clickbait is not a game. But have to admit it's a pretty AWESOME wallpaper creator for your PC desktop. This company pwns M$ completely.
