What teensy tiny things would you like to see changed in ED?

The most minor thing I can currently think of is the questionable spelling in the description of the T9. It annoys me everytime I think about buying one and then I don't.
I believe it uses the word "Cargoes" instead of "large amounts of cargo" Although "Cargoes" might be a word I am fairly certain it would cause an argument in a game of scrabble.

Applicable if carrying multiple different types of cargo.

Example in different form: you have an amount of ethanol. You may say you have some alcohol. But if you had an amount of methanol, some ethanol, and some butanol, you would have some alcohols.

The internet would suggest you might be correct however I don't have an Oxford English to hand and can't check. I know the word makes me think it's wrong. As far as I am aware Cargo is not a countable noun and therefore has no plural but requires the sentence to be set correctly.

I have been wrong before however.

@Agony_Aunt --->>> collate best ideas in OP :)

- Tinted windscreen option(the sun glare !!!)
- Fix Engineer screen with proper info, so we don't flit between Engineering and Outfitting
- Headlight on/off indicator
- Artificial horizon of sorts(origin point being the landing pad) in space stations, to align our ships on manual landings(like we have on surface pads)
- Outfitting , a zoomed out view,so we see where each hardpoint is when we choose it(not good on big ships currently)
- A popup(bounty value) after we scan a ship using the KWS, I mean for god's sake, a little help FD ?
- A binding option to allow us to select 2 actions(and no more) , like CELLS + HEATSINK or LANDING GEAR + LIGHTS or SILENT RUNNING + HEATSINK
- Folders/Colour Grouping for our bookmarks
- Multiple Waypoints on Gal Map
- Give us more than 1 nanosecond before threatening to kill us, if we dare get near another landing pad
- ORRERY (oh, you said teensy ? )
- Stealth Shields to make us invisible(ok, joke, we already have Solo :D )

I quicker way to view the surface station details in the system map. I can select the correct tab and then just click on each of the space stations to see their info, but for surface ports it's a pain to keep changing tabs, scrolling, selecting surface view, changing tabs again, etc.

Some sort of 'tree-view' off the station list tab would be one idea.

The blueprint descriptions. You can tell that the scanner descriptions were lifted directly from the shield generator ones, as they forgot to rename "shields" to "scanner". This kind of basic, simple oversight really irritates me. :D This is a common issue throughout the blueprints.

Being able to change locked target in srv turret mode, not have to leave turret mode to do so.

You can do that, I do that all the time. Maybe you should check your SRV bindings?

The "Slow Down" warning message should appear while there's still time to slow down, rather than only appearing when it's too late.

Alternatively, change the message to read "You should have slowed down earlier, but now it's too late!" At least that way it would be accurate.

As others have said - the message is telling you that you are slowing down, not that you should slow down. (Though it incidentally triggers as you approach a destination planet). Confused me for ages too. Always brake to blue at 7 seconds - or faceplant the planet :)

When picking a mission or accessing from the transactions tab and opening the galaxy map autoselect the destination on the galaxy map so I can just route plan, rather than have to manually enter the system name. I play on a TV in the main lounge so I have to grab the keyboard and note down the system name.

That's a bug in 2.3, 2.2 always worked that way. In fact I think it still does show the destination, but the 'route' button is disabled, just to annoy (at least on PC).

That doesn't make sense. Why would your ship have to tell you that you are slowing down? It doesn't do this unless you are going too fast. You can go past astrological astronomical bodies and be affected by their gravity without the warning appearing (you are still slowing down), so I'd be very interested in why you think that this is a statement rather than a warning? Why would they show such a statement in red right in front of you, rather than having an innocuous entry in the info panel (which would make more sense if it is not a warning)?

When you're detailed scanning a body, have the information update on the System Map when the scan has finished, when you're IN the System Map. Not, as you have to now, have it update if you move the cursor off the body and back on to it. (Xbox)

Try going fast past a planet - especially a gas giant / star - and you will see the warning even though you are not targetting (or heading at) the planet and your target is waaay behind. Don't know the reason, but slow down is not the way to decide the braking point - that's 7 seconds & blue to avoid overshoots.

edit: Hmm, didn't realised your were talking about astrological bodies, I was talking about the astronomical ones, maybe that's the difference :)

lol, yeah, astrological. I knew there was something wrong there when I typed it. :)

However, I still don't agree that the Slow Down is not a warning telling you to slow down. It is basically warning you that you are going to fast for the FSD to be able to gracefully handle problems. So, if you get too close to that planet that you are zooming past, it's going to pull you out of supercruise painfully.

While I agree that the warning comes too late to be able to slow down without taking any other action (e.g. moving your nose away from the target), it most definitely is a warning suggesting that for safety you should slow down. Whether you do or not is up to you.

Powerplay:

Increase PP cargo transfer speeds to same levels are regular cargo.
Make a "Fill Entire Cargohold" button with a cost statement next to it, and a prompt that then says "This will cost xxx xxx xxx credits, are you sure?"
Make a "Deliver Entire Cargohold" button that empties the entire shipment at once at desired PP station, again with a prompt "Are you sure?".
A numeric input box for PP cargo where you can type in the desired amount to buy/deliver, followed by a prompt with cost and if you're sure.

What actually happens, for me at least, is that it does go to the target system, which it rings in blue. But the pop up menu to plot the route, etc. doesn't refer to the target system and will often be on the system you're in instead, hence the route button being disabled. Sometimes mousing over the destination system doesn't work straight away and I have to mouse over another random system and then try it again. It's quite annoying.

oh, and it would be nice (from an immersion perspective) if we could power on and power off engines (perhaps have a module we can buy, something like "battery" so that if the engines are off whilst in space, there is limited power available for core systems like life support, etc.). I like that you have to power on your engines after landing on a planet (although I'd prefer if it was a specific key rather than just "hold thrust up"), it would be great if we had to do that when launching from stations too.
oh, oh... and for the love of ... give us a dashboard indicator that tells us if our lights are on or off!!
