What's on the menu for Planet Zoo? 🍽️

Given that we already have received tons of Christmas-related scenery items with the Arctic Pack, I wouldn't really expect that. If the aesthetic of the teaser screenshot is anything to go by, I would rather expect Mediterranean scenery - but even that only assuming that the screenshot actually has any relevance to the contents of the next DLC, which the past has shown isn't always necessarily the case.
If we do get a European scenery pack (which I'd absolutely adore!), I'd say Mediterranean or Alpine scenery would be most likely, although I'd actually give a slight edge to the prior.

It's funny how different opinions could be. A European Pack would probably have me more excited than any other pack, to be honest. 😂
If it was a Europe Pack with Red Deer, Eurasian Lynx, Alpine Ibex and European Badger, I'd be over the moon, with wolverine, red fox and crested porcupine as honorable mentions (the latter of which might go well with a Mediterranean theme).

The only zoo I could think of would be the Zoom Erlebniswelt in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, where you can eat out in the Asian Tropical House with free-roaming birds and bats. I haven't experienced it, but theoretically the flying foxes could roam around your tables (some of the free-flying birds definitely did). But since we don't have either birds or flying foxes in the game as of now, that isn't really an option to recreate.
I just think that Europe doesn't really have the most exciting wildlife... North America has Pumas, Gators, and cool stuff, while Europe has like deer, small carnivores and not much [I get it, there's wisent, brown bears and wolves, but there are Grizzly bears, wolves and American Bison in the game already] . I mean, when I go to the zoo I like to see exotic and fascinating animals, and (at least to me) deer are not among those... I mean, I can see a deer every day out in the woods, they're not really the kind of animal I'd expect, or want, to see in a zoo. As for small carnivores... Yeah, they're cool, but to me a Walrus would be 100 times cooler than, let's say, a badger or Wolverine.
Anyway, if we actually get a Europe Pack it would still be cool, especially if we got some semi-aquatic animal (otter, seal, walrus even) to go with those red BUOYS in the background!

Not to derail this thread further than it is, but I'd personally love to have some more common animals.

Raccoons and deer are very popular around here, I'd love a bobcat in-game (very fast. Have you seen them? They are like a blur in the night). I mean, even the American black bear is something I'd love and hopes makes it in-game

Let me tell you about Pairi Daiza...
Not only about the hotels, Pairi Daiza is a very special zoo, it can be considered the most themed zoo in Europe. In fact, I've sometimes thought that Frontier based on Pairi Daiza for many of the most heavily themed items of PZ.

Everyone, kneel before your king! Marvelous idea as always, George.

This is interesting in terms of the history of aviaries…

The first large aviary inside a zoological garden was established in 1880 in the setting of the Rotterdam Zoo. Aviaries were an important aspect for the many Rothschild houses that proliferated across Europe in the 19th century. This was a recalling of the aristocratic custom from the late 1600s, which involved the elite society displaying their power, status and wealth through the exhibition of exotic birds and animals. (Taken from Wikipedia, Avaries).

Rotterdam is also a major port city with canals and waterways so the buoys would make sense too…

This could potentially tie together what we’ve seen and an aviary pack. There is a clear link between aviaries and Europe. The plot thickens…

The pictures on that Wikipedia entry also feature aviaries in London Zoo, Vienna and Italy.

I am happy with this (unexpected) addition to the base game! :D Restaurants were totally a thing everybody was implementing/building, but were never that functional. I look forward to see these builds become functional now. I am especially curious to see how the facility will work: will it be a box or will it be a more open idea? I saw some people talking about the building in whole, but I think the black entrance to the left of the picture is just a regular toilet. I might be mistaken though, but we'll see when it goes live in-game.

And about a possible DLC, I don't really mind what's coming. European Representation would be lovely, but some Classical Animals that will be added to the roster is always welcome. I doubt we will get an Aviary DLC or this soon. A thing we saw earlier is that 'new' functions should be able to match with the base game: there were already diving animals in the base game and those were updated. For birds... right now there aren't many animals that could get the flying update: peafowl can fly but rarely do so, unless to get to a higher/lower place and flamingo's are rarely seen flying in zoo's as well for they are often clipped. I would LOVE aviaries and more flying animals, they are my favorite animals in every Zoo.

What could happen though... is that the new functionality will be a new style of habitat creating that is netted or fully covered, called 'aviaries' in which the lemurs and other (small) climbing animals could use to climb on as well. In that way the aviary has a function in the base game AND we can get flying animals introduced.

Only time will tell for sure :D I'm happy anyway for new content for Planet Zoo is always great :D

Edit: I was just thinking... Aquaria are a big thing in Europe as well and could fit with restaurants/buildings plus the lake buoy teasing. Maybe we could get out first full aquatic animals this DLC and the introduction of Aquarium exhibits? So many possibilities! Soon....

Hmmmm… buoys can separate sections of water with nets attached to them so could that be one type of new barrier with another one that uses nets in the style of an aviary?

I wonder if Restaurants will produce Trash/have their own Trash Collection System.
I wish we could get Pigeons for the Outdoor Areas of the Restaurants but it's unlikely to happen due to the Statement that we won't get Effect Animals (even though they've also changed their minds regarding the Change of the Polar Bear Space Need😉)

🤔 If those are Buoys with a Net beneath, maybe it could be for something like Manatees or Fish

It's not impossible that they'll change their minds, but the two scenarios are not really comparable. The pigeons in Planet Coaster also weren't special effects, they were ambient creatures IIRC, kind of like the birds and small animals in Zoo Tycoon.

I doubt it. Planet Zoo is, generally, a pretty realistic zoo game, and who puts a hotel in a zoo? This isn't Disneyland, where it would take at least a couple of days to see the whole thing.
Several zoos have a hotel or cabins there, some are mainly special event utilized ones, but others are more of a specialty thing.

The Cincinnati Zoo has several "tents" for an overnight thing.

The Wilds has a full cabin hotel setup which includes the wake up to see their animals.

There are several others with different things for that sort of thing.
