Modes Why no mode exclusive content?

But I don't want your apologies, do I really have​ to accept them? You should save them so you can use them for someone who really needs them :)

Oh ... just one guys' personal bias. Of course there will be devs biased towards PvE.

Sandro wanted open only bonuses, so it goes to show even the Devs are not all on the same page.

I wonder if they have this same discussion in the office.

I found it, I found mode locked content. PvP only, no NPCs, no PvE - just pure PvP only and it's mode locked so you only fight those in the same mode as you.....

I think it should be used as the detention centre.
Every kill = 2 hour lock to CQC. So when you get caught you could have to spend weeks in there.
That would bolster the numbers there, and get you to try it

So, today's nuclear bomb of a question: what exactly is the problem with mode-specific content?

Content always has to be developed for specific roles or playstyles. I don't expect to get mined ore when I trade, and I don't expect to get tins of imperial slaves for scanning stars during exploration.

So what is the fundamental objection to Open having content for Open play, for PG to get specific content, and for Solo getting its own content?

It doesn't have to make either "exclusive" or "better". The content for either can have equal effort put into it. For a very basic example, Open-only CZs, or trade missions, that drive a particular objective or growth, and PG also has dedicated missions that cannot be completed in Open.

Technical matter aside the above has always been shut down "because all game modes are valid", but if the content is effectively equal on either side, it's not stating that either is more valid - simply acknowledging that different players have different needs.

In a nutshell it caters more to everyone, so unless I am missing something, the only objection would be founded on...well, not wanting other people to have fun. Now there's a turn up for the books :)

Go.

Why ask if we already have mode exclusive content?

Cough, cough, wing missions.

You know what I bet you can do it there as well. This community will suprise anyone.


Rather easy.. 5/1.... ways to cheat the game to make so much money you can fully outfit before others, etc... in CQC... You EARN, you don't cheat your way to PVP victory.
 
I need to stop you there, Stitch. Your thesis hinges on exclusive content, not shared content. Just because most content can be manipulated from solo does not mean it is focused on solo, because it can also be manipulated in open. Jockey79's logic is pretty solid: So far the only mode exclusive​ content has been for open.

If anything, all the content is focused on open since there you can use some mechanics you couldn't in solo.
