Modes Why trade in open ?

Thats irrelevant, just because some people find solo hard doesnt mean all modes are equal in challange. Open ia still the toughest mode whether you have issues in solo or not.

Some people find open easy, so your point is irrelevant (don't you keep complaining you find open easy / boring?).
Some folks also know how to make open easier than it currently is.

Open can be as hard or easy as you want it to be. So it does not need any help.
In fact for traders, Rinzler does some helpful videos on how to make trading in open really easy.

Great, if open is easy we dont need modes. Everyone will fly shieldless and noone will die ever. Because open is easy amirite?

Its clearly the situation today /s

Open is easy for people who want it to be easy.
Solo is there for people who want to play alone or have technical (hotel connection / mobile connection) / health (disabilities / various impairments etc) reasons they cannot play with others.
PGs are there for those who don't want to play with random members of the public or just with friends.

What we don't want is a child of 7 having to put up with "OMG L2FLY NOOB I PWNED U" in chat from those ever so skilled players that station ram or take full combat ships versus unarmed traders / explorers.

(Yes, Elite: Dangerous is sold as 7 and up in the UK and they are still entitled to play all aspects of the game and the connected universe)

Oh yeah we do. I wouldn't want to run into the likes of you for instance. Not because you are scary hard, but because you are annoying. While playing games I tend to not like being annoyed. I'm weird that way. Get this through your skull. I'll repeat it. You guys aren't scary, you guys are annoying. You annoy me. have you processed this by now? Annoying. I am irritated when I meet people like you in game. That's the emotion accompanied with me meeting your kind. Annoyance.

Am I making myself clear? :)

The brilliant design of the modes makes it possible for me to avoid annoyances.

I fly primarily in Open, and I find GSPies tedious. They aren't a threat, just an annoying interruption to my game. In fact, they are so non-threatening to me, I'm willing to low wake, just to see how long it takes for them to figure this fact out. As an added bonus, if they're chasing me, then they're not bothering anyone else. Record was seven before I tired of the game, and sent "You are aware I'm willing to do this all the way to the station, aren't you?" There wasn't an eighth attempt. :D

I only fly in Open for the adrenaline rush, seeing other commanders, and the dim hope of having a fun encounter a proper PvP pirate. Thankfully, I start work at 5am and work weekends, so a GSPie attack is thankfully rare. Unfortunately, that means that players in general are rare. :(

It is that lack of threat to the overall Open population that has the GSPie crowd generating so much salt. It's hard to believe that you are a PvP god when you can't kill a trader or passenger ship, and you run and hide from combat ships. It's also why these players are using Solo players being able to influence the BGS as their current casus belli. They can't kill PvE players who choose to play in Open for the adrenaline rush, because they're ready for them. They can't kill actual PvPers either, and will log out the instant someone tries to interdict them. They can't attract more players with their charming personalities. So all they're left with is either bribing people into Open, or asking Frontier to mutilate their own game to force those "evil" PvEers into Open if they want to fully enjoy the game they bought.

GROUND CONTROL TO MAJOR TOM !
GROUND CONTROL TO MAJOR TOM !

I'M GETTING PEPPERED WITH SALT!

Take it easy...I've never seen you like this and I'm worried.... lol

All the moans about getting folk into open, i've been flying round seeing loads of players , at least 10 per session. Are you guys not seeing anyone sure your network isn't to blame?

I'm pretty sure its the fact that I work at 5am, and work on weekends, that is to blame. :D

I suspect, based on the few times I've played in a large private group, that I'd see a lot more players in Open, despite what I wrote above, if there were a few less players that treat other players like NPCs, existing solely for their own amusement, around. Or at least had to pause and think before they decide to pull the proverbial trigger.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaslighting

Gaslighting is a form of manipulation that seeks to sow seeds of doubt in a targeted individual or in members of a targeted group, hoping to make them question their own memory, perception, and sanity. Using persistent denial, misdirection, contradiction, and lying, it attempts to destabilize the target and delegitimize the target's belief.

Wow. Nice gas-lighting you are doing there my friend.

Brilliant narrative darkfyre! I like you.
For some player who can't spend a lot of time in the game, my condolences! I'm a retired hasbeen, so I get to spend an average of 6 hours a day. I sometimes wonder what I could achieve ( for an old person ) if I didn't like playing comp. games.

So you admit you've been doing that eh...

I mean heck... you even claimed after your myriad of videos that I suddenly changed and supported you pretty much... which was horse hockey as soon as it left your keyboard

You know, ive been speaking with you here on these forums. And these are the only replies you have given. You havnt really contributed to any part of the conversations nor trying to prove anything wrong in one way or another.

Meanwhile, Ive been posting videos, Quotes, Player builds and more.

Maybe you should stop attacking me personally about the facts I am laying out(which is not opinion, I want to make sure I stress this.) Because I have shown that proof. And shown Sandro directly talking about the instability the modes bring when it comes to PVP.

Its not my fault you look past that and attack me for them.

Gaslighting is what a lot of people are doing here because they dont want the modes to have one benefit over the other. Well im sorry, there are multiplayer features and solo player features. Thats just the way it is. And when people can attack player factions through modes called solo and private. Removing the need for direct PVP.

Well, its why we have the PVP hub instead of using powerplay as intended. It took you 2 days to watch the video where Sandro said Powerplay was indeed made for Direct PVP. But you argued it anyways.

Talk about eating your own words mouse....

Funny, if I was attacking you personally I would have gotten forum bans *looks around* Nope... again false accusations just like normal... What I have done is call you out on your attempts at falsing accusing others, using multiple different tactics to try to railroad things you don't agree with and have told you pointedly that Sandros backtracked (but I guess since Asp found the quotes I was not participating *roll eyes* while you slam your head against the wall and persist on saying that he didn't backtrack, ignoring the proof as it seems the only proof you accept is proof you like.

Look in a mirror dude.. only one eating words... isn't me. Now would there be something else you'd like to accuse me of?

Just because they backtracked on the idea. Does not mean sandro was wrong? What hello?

Like this proof, posted shortly after the post 90s keeps referring back to;

The first one's from Robert Maynard and he's saying "Has the pin been pulled on the hand grenade I posted in a Collusion Piracy thread?". Just for context this was, I was musing out loud about potentially Open Play Powerplay having some benefit to success over and above Private Groups and Solo - I just want to reiterate that was just me musing, we're not going to do that at the moment, there are no plans to do it, but it is still an interesting thought, nothing's ever completely off the table but nothing to announce at the moment.

I mean he does say "nothing's ever completely off the table" - but then again, we talked about an Open PvE mode in that thread as well, so as "nothing's ever completely off the table" then perhaps there is just as much hope of Open PvE becoming a thing.
