Modes Why trade in open ?

Really?

So SOLO has the same difficulty level as OPEN, please stop this, just stop. Just because everyone can click the easy mode DOES NOT MAKE THE MODES EQUAL IN DIFFICULTY.

CAlling Solo easy mode is the equivalent of calling the news media fake news so that you can try to get people to believe the you are shoveling

Very true, actually. Goebbels Institute of Truth, after all. Repeat the same false claim enough that people eventually believe what you're saying.

It is easy mode, though. Proof of this, is that even some griefers and hardcore PvPers eventually go into S/PG in order to farm mats/missions.

That isn't proof of anything.. anyone can choose to interact with others or with no one. And again... false phrase.. as ED has no "Easy" mode. It is just a derogatory term applied to solo just as "Carebear' is applied to myself and others who PVE. If you can't assault them ingame then try it verbally on the forums.

Nope. Solo is the easy mode. Always been, always will be.

Npc pirates / mercenaries are no match to pvp oriented combat ships. I can take on 5 npcs attacking me in my shieldless FAS and I am average at skill.

In solo you only have NPCs. That's it.
In open you have THOSE SAME NPCS combined with the ultimate pvp engineered murderboats dedicated to annihilate anything in their path with 10 times the DPS and 10 times the shiled/hull values combined with 2 times the speed and manuevrabilty while flying full FA OFF.

I dont even know what is the point in this argument, Open difficulty = SOLO difficulty * 10.

In Open you can wing up and take larger targets together as a pack vs solo only able to do it by itself.. therefor by your logic Open is the "easy" mode... see how this stupidity of yours works?

No mode is the easy one.. to say one of them is, is to troll.

Back from the deep, dark wilds of computer breakdown!
Why is Solo easy when half a dozen Anacondas want your Python's cargo.
Why is PvP hard when no-one wants my cargo, even though I have carried quality metals all day.

Get over the fact that some people love Solo. (Moi!)

Get over the fact that not all gamers are like .......... well, should I say ........ You?

The answer is: NPC’s can be appeased with cargo and only have a few modules engineered ;)
No but seriously only trade in open if you love either getting back at them with a combat trading ship, love losing money, orr if you have a ton of cash to spare and nothing better to spend it on, preferably a combinations of those three.

Though, I’m not sure why you’d be trading since passenger missions are currently a thing, even the ones from the thargoid attacks earn better than trading.

For some deep, dark reason I don't like passengers. But I make 10 to 20 mil every day that I trade. Not bad in my book.
I don't give NPCs cargo.
So far I have survived chain interdictioons and shot up a few NPCs. Even the ones with SLFs.

I will do a CG when a reasonable one comes around.

The npcs are the same at any mode, useless.
The challange comes from the players with engineered pvp ships.

'Ganks Single Player', apparently.

Yeah, it's kind of a lame term.

Fair enough. But you attributed the responses you detailed directly to me as a poster i.e. 'this is your response'.

My bad. Responded after your post, but the reply was more a reply to the sentiment in vindalos' post.

I realize that I'm very late to this party... sorry, I was off playing Car Mechanic Sim for a few days.

Zig, when did I ever bemoan the use of solo or group modes?

P.S. I think it's great that the folks at the Oracle are all lined up. It's the way it would work in real life. There would likely also be a significant police/military presence to keep them safe during rescue. This game really should provide that when appropriate.

For you. I still lose my Cobra regularly to NPC's years into the game. Now you can either gloat about how you're a gaming god and I'm less than dirt, or you can try a little empathy and realize that not everyone is a gamer god. Your choice. Point being, if the game was meant to cater solely to gamerz with skillz they should have said so and I wouldn't have bought it.

It's important to remember that there are players out there facing various limitations (whatever those limitations may be) and differing levels of interest in the pew, and to make sure that play is available and rewarding for the entire player base.

Thats irrelevant, just because some people find solo hard doesnt mean all modes are equal in challange. Open ia still the toughest mode whether you have issues in solo or not.

The "advantage" some people see is they can get player interaction. If by player interaction you are looking to have your trade ship ripped to shreds in about 5-10 seconds by someone flying a big ship or Python (for example) armed with PACs modified with screening shell, or one of the other insane damage output builds you can make.

There are good pirates out there though, that will provide you with some fun and emergent gameplay. However, they are few and far between. Its a roll of the dice as to which players you meet.

Otherwise most players you will see won't talk to you or perhaps if you are lucky you might get sent an "o7 CMDR".

Up to you whether you think that is worth it.

I suppose one advantage might be is you might find a group of traders who you can wing up with, and do trade runs together. But you could do that in PG as well. Still, a wing of traders is safer than going alone. Especially perhaps if you add some teeth to your trade ships. Probably only possible if you have a group of friends to play with or can find a player group that does this sort of thing.

Happened to me yesterday (again), on the ground in my Imp Eagle, and a Corvette took me out. Whatever your views, it's these actions that drive people to solo or PG

There at few cmdr's that will destroy you for no reason. ^^^^^ on that list lol
There are a lot more Npcs.
My chances of surviving a Npc encounter are much higher then a cmdr.
That being said I have a better chance of dying vs an npc because there are a lot more of them.

More fun to trade.. passengers are so picky.. I mean come on... they want things like food and water and uggg.. the mess they live behind..

Agreed, which is something sadly that Algomatic can't seem to grasp... He is god so all of us should be god since NPCs are a joke to him...
