After listening to every single planet zoo and planet coaster track I could find, it is not there.
Low-key watching the SteamDB knowing something's coming. Haha. I'm not anticipating a livestream this time around but... Between what we saw in the folders, standard patterns, and the steam action? I'm not sure how anybody could come to any other conclusion. Hah.Btw two more days until our first chance to see some anniversary content
At any rate, I'm curious to see the impact (if anything) the anniversary animal and update has on speculation.
I’m 50/50 on if we are about to be pleasantly surprised and it could be something exciting,
or business continues as usual.
With the layoffs I can imagine Frontier refocusing their efforts on their flagship games, so I can see something cool happening on the horizon. I can also see Frontier deciding to focus on new games and seeing Planet Zooisnt broken so they won’t fix it.
I’ll just be grateful for anything, and I highly doubt it could potentially impact discussion on the next dlc. I could be very wrong (I would love to be proven wrong) but have any of the past anniversary animals gave hints to the next wave of dlc??
Not really. I mean the lemur was followed up by europe and wetlands. And the deer by grasslands and tropical ( it did however fit the twilight pack that came prior rather well)
I’ve always wished frontier would stick to their planet series games and own titles. Frontier does amazing work on simulation games and what not. Just like jwe which is a great franchise don’t get me wrong and I’m sure a lot of money brought in but I’d take a planet prehistoric any day. There’s still a ton of money to be made with planet series games.
I mean... It's free content. So it's going to be exciting no matter what, to be honest. Hah. And TBH, I don't think anything happening right now with Frontier would impact the content of the update itself (or the forthcoming December DLC). We may see a different roll-out for things which would make sense but... Beyond that I don't know what sort of impact it will have on Planet Zoo and its development, PDLC releases, etc. I don't necessarily see them ending things earlier than planned, but I'm also not sure they'd extend it.
My point about the anniversary update is that the animal hasn't hinted at what the upcoming DLC was. So one could argue it could be a hint as to what we might not expect. For example, if they were to give us the NA black bear or the wild boar? That could probably end any speculation about a temperate or woodlands pack for December. Or, say, if we were to get the wolverine or takin? Highlands or mountains might (shockingly) be ruled out. I don't think any of these are likely... They're just easy examples. Haha.
I do also wonder if another way of looking at this is if it's something they wanted to slide into another pack in the past but couldn't find room for. Or that they started to develop but had to stop early for one reason or another... I'm excited to see what it is.

My own locked in guess is the Grey Crowned Crane. We got two birds in the last pack, there’s no going back now.

To be completely honest and as much as I'd love a crowned crane or any other bird, I'm expecting a carnivoran.
Same. Frontier has really taken it slowly with the Carnivorans this year, so I expect to be drowning in them for the rest of the year.
Sand cat, fossa, tassie. One for each DLC. How did they take it slowly? Lol
Yeah we usually get one carnivore per pack this year, on the other hand the grasslands pack had 3 in that pack alone.
Tassie is not a Carnivoran (but it is a carnivore). Usually we get 1-3 (4 even happened once) Carnivorans per pack. This year it has been 0-1 per pack so far.
That’s my second guess, but it’s more hung by the fact that I just want it lol.

Could be a carnivore as well though. But idk i have a feeling we are getting a bird. And the rhea would add to the SA roster in the base game, which is virtually no existent outside of the exhibits, plus the last big iconic ratite left.
