Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

How exactly does my opinion of why an animal is a bad addition to a zoo game for being to similar to other options allready in game have irl impacts on an endangerd animal?
Im just some guy on the internet pointing out what to me are flaws in a games design, i dont know how or why exactly this relates to the real animal?
You clearly want the sloth bear to go extinct so it will end up in Prehistoric Kingdom instead, a game you can choose to ignore. I'm sure that is your evil plan.

The Wisent also was not my highest wish. But some people exaggerate about its inclusion. It is Not more or less a "Clone" than several other inclusion (including for example the Polar Bear). It has a different appearance than the American Bison and besides it is living on a different continent it even lives in a different habitat. Whereas the American Bison lives in open prairie Ares the Wisent can also be found in forest areas.

Well, we all have recieved some animals that we personally thought of as “but why..?”. For me it is the Wisent and the Saiga to a degree in this pack, but I don’t know, somehow I am okay with it, because we are also getting some animals I really like. I have seen alot of people being happy about the Wisent, so who am I to tell others its a bad pick?

I am sure everyobe can find at least few good things about the DLC, Frontier cannot please everyone all the time. Better accept that there will always be something you might not like, but it can be loved by someone else.

We are getting out first true waterfowl guys!

Just two small comments from my side.
There's no reason to be so hostile to others on this forum. Discussion is great, but it should be civil and respectful. Everyone sees comments that make you want to rip out your hair all the time, but sometimes it's better to take a deep breath and go to the next comment before beating it out on your keyboard ;)

And secondly, I think a lot of people could benefit from not looking at a pack from the angle that it's not what they wanted, hence a disappointing pack, but rather to take it as an opportunity to learn more about animals you might not have been so keen about before. I'm not very big on the Sloth Bear, but I'll definitely take its inclusion as an opportunity to learn more about it. The lowest animal on RandomGoat's meta-wishlist this time was the Wisent at #75, and everyone else was in the Top 50, which alone shows that every animal in this pack was at least moderately highly demanded. The community is difficult to please by nature, but I think Frontier did a good job balancing out what people wanted with this pack.

This isn't directed at anyone in particular btw, just my attempt to leave a bit more positivity around here :D

edit: ok the comments turned out not be as "small" as I thought they would be when I started typing

WAIT a minute. In over 12k posts in this thread alone, did nobody guess the correct line-up?

Totally agree. I just think it's a very neat "nice to have" animal that provides a bit more selection and helps you individualize your European sections.

A lot of base game ungulates have received "clones" or at least relatives with an updated model in the last few packs, e.g. the Bactrian Camel, the Black Wildebeest, the Gemsbok, the African Buffalo and the Thomson's Gazelle, and honestly, I'm all here for it. Now if only we could get the same treatment for primates, I'd be over the moon.

A while back I guessed a Eurasia pack with this lineup:

• Wolverine
• Saiga
• Eurasian Wild Boar
• Eurasian Brown Bear
• Wisent
• Muskox
• Pacific Walrus
• Siberian Flying Squirrel

I guess 4/8 is measly, but I guessed this lineup all the way back before Oceania. So I guess that’s something?
Plus I guessed the Saiga and the Wisent, not exactly the most requested species but in my personal wants. So that’s something too!

To me, it's kind of weird to assume that people don't know enough about these animals. I know plenty about wild boars and wisents, but that doesn't make them less boring for me. And the saiga isn't boring, it's a fun animal, but there are like...a dozen Asian ungulates I wanted more than that, which is a valid opinion in itself.

Yeah, I’ve had a few “but why?” animals over the years: the proboscis monkey (basically zero presence in zoos), the nile lechwe (little demand for it), Asian water monitor (I felt like the nile monitor was enough), and maybe the dama gazelle (it wasn’t my first pick).

If we only had these primates to begin with xD.

Not bad! - okay guys so 4/8 is the score to beat - who did better? It has to be a Eurasia DLC themed guess! I don't know why but rules are fun! (I just made myself gag, that's the ex-teacher in me coming out 😂 )

I can relate, although I learned to love the Dama Gazelle because it has perfect model, I have been using it alot lately.
