X55 Rhino Button Layout with Reference Card

Saitek X-55 blank worksheets

combo.jpg

Greetings,

Here are two blank worksheets in pdf format for the Saitek X-55 joystick and throttle. Should make programming in the commands a little easier per writing them down. Note ED Beta Standard already has a default X-55 setup in the controller options. No programming required just plug and play. The blanks will make it easier should you want to make changes in the controller options page...or use them for any other game. Thanks to whoever created the original graphics. I'll certainly give them credit if I can ever find out who it was.

Joystick Worksheet

Throttle Worksheet

Meanwhile how to mount the controllers? Found this picture on the net. So cool!

I just got mine in today. Thanks for the tips guys and big thanks to you Sandcracka for the layout! See you all in the 'Verse!

Thanks so much for the key binding file and cribsheet Sandcracka, TBH as this is my first time with a HOTAS the prospect of working out all the bindings for myself was putting me off using it and playing the game. Am so glad I came across this thread.

Sods law says now I have this setup and I have a bit of free time this morning, the MP servers aren't working!

How do you install them? Do you bind them via the X-55 software or is it somewhere in the Elite Dangerous folder? Sorry for the n00b question.

I found it. Sorry!

I'll try to be more specific....

C:/Users/~Username~/AppData/Local/Frontier Developments/Elite Dangerous/Options/Bindings/Custom.binds

This is for Windows 7. I can't recall how XP files them and I never used Windows 8.

Anyone know if the Mode[123] thing works when not using the Saitek software?

I'd like a landing profile (without any button bound to boost ;))

If it is not possible I think I might set Elite to keyboard and mouse bindings, and make a profile in the Saitek software.

I pre-ordered this a month ago. Anyone know when the next batch is going to ship? I've searched and it only says August but can't find a date.

From what I have tried the Mode is not recognized as a button or switch outside of the Saitek software. So you need to use your keyboard mode method.
I might try that myself. I like the idea alot, especially since I have had the x-55 bug where it can send random button presses. Lost two ships in hanger because HOTAS decided to boost all by itself

Bummer.
I was hoping to be able to use it as a mini joystick for pitch and roll so I could fly in supercruise whilst having a cup of tea in the other hand.

Quick question to X55 Owners.
The G-Button/Rotary, does it stick out so much that you can see the axis of the button? The bigger F-button sits quite close to the throttle, but my G-button sticks out so far that it interferes with the usage of the H3-hat. Seems that my G-axis is some 3 to 4 mm too large.

Edit: Found some pics, and the thing sticks out way too far. Ah well, time to void some warranties at some point in the future I guess....

I have no trouble at all with it. I think it all depends on how exactly you position your thumb on the hat. If you place it such that the underside of the thumb is square on the hat then you'll have the problem you described. But place it, as I naturally do, so the upperside of the thumb is on the hat and all is well.

P.S.

By "upperside I mean the side that normally faces the index finger. Hope that's a little less obscure.

Really struggling to get into ED due to never ending issues with controls not working as expected. I'm now trying an X55, but for some reason when I have the joystick plugged in I can't get any keys/buttons to move left/right within the control panels. If I play with just keyboard/mouse ( or a basic joystick like the Microsoft FF Sidewinder ) then I have no issues ... of course the problem then, is that it's not a HOTAS setup.

Anyone have similar issues ? It's getting quite exasperating.
