Favorite in game, probably the Imperial Clipper. The ship is simply gorgeous. The Viper is a close second. So much better than it was in previous games.

As for other sci-fi (especially games), I'd have to go with some old favorites that I miss.


Extremely difficult to master and often a liability in pvp, # of dedicated KSE pvp pilots could be counted on one hand. As a result we were widely respected given the handicaps. Probably more than a little crazy too.


My other all time favorite. Fully decorated, fun in PvP and the fastest hunk of junk on the server, the Argent Phoenix. It took a lot of effort to learn to fly so my gunners weren't getting sick and could both still hit. I expect a lot of future SC (and perhaps ED if they add it) players to be in for a major surprise in that regard.

If you haven't seen Space: Above and beyond, its worth watching the whole show just to get the build up for the episode "The Angriest Angel" pts 1 and 2, towards the end of the season. As shown in the youtube clip in a abbreivated form, that still doesn't do it justice really.

With the build up over some previous episodes and part 1 itself, its one of the best dogfight/storylines on any sci fi show, ever. So damn cool...

WW2 in space (or for those old enough, Baa Baa Black Sheep in space.) Space: Above and Beyond (aka Space 2063, 58 Squadron, or Space War 2063) was that simple, worked beautifully and it had a nice ensemble cast. I'm more sore that Fox cancelled SAAB than for cancelling Firefly.

I must say that the original Elite had the greatest influence on me. My favourite in-game ship is undoubtedly the Cobra Mk III.

In sci-fi in general, I have few options, such as the A-Wing in Star Wars, Firefly in Firefly etc., but - really - my all-time-favourite ship is the Wolf Mk II - from Elite as well.

You know everyone has their tastes and opinions which is great, but, what is it about the Wolf that you like? It had great specs and surviveability I give it that. One mean ship to fight but as far as looks it might as well have been called the beetle or scarab because that is what it looked like to me.
