Your least enjoyable Elite activity?

My least favorite thing is to follow a trendy gold rush or engineer for a meta. I'd like to see a different jump screen too, considering how much time we spend there. Less mist/fireflies and more warpy-stretchy feeling. Less shaking but more sqeezed, groaning metal, like being forced through a straw and re-inflated with a grenade. Headache inducing for the immersion of it :p

Shooting x number of ships or delivering y number of random cargoes every four weeks to unlock z weapon.

You can have them all if you switch sides and just wait for four more weeks...

Absolutely pointless.

I've been pledged to Antal for forever now because I wanted enforcers but cannot be bothered to unlock them but likewise dont want to unpledge because I'll have to wait four more weeks. Maybe one day...

OMG yes, Guardian sites make want to gouge out my own eyes. I did the FSD Booster and swore i'd never go back. I should've done what you did, both at the same time. Now i'm actually contemplating/ dreading going back for the gauss cannons.

Oh I didn't do them both at the same time 😭 ... I fought Thargoids for like a week then it got old in retrospect I wouldnt have even gone back a second time for the gauss cannons. Its really like they designed every inch of the guardian site for the srv to get stuck on. Just thinking about it makes me want to turn my computer off... forever...

Passenger missions, except burning station rescues. Followed closely by the exceedingly boring interdiction mini game and the gank attempt mini game that comes after.

Hm, I guess I just really don't like exploring. That is, I don't mind it on the micro scale. I'll gladly stop and scan all 67 bodies in a system, but after the first couple of systems on any extended journey, I just grow weary of the whole process.

Which is why it's taken me several months to painstakingly advance my exploration rank ever so slowly towards elite. One grueling percent at a time. Oh, well. 18% more to go. Eventually. When I feel like being bored senseless.

I'd much rather be tinkering with my ship builds, or fighting pirates. Or even hauling some contract cargo somewhere, because at least there's an end to that activity and a tangible goal, like getting some credits or grade 5 materials.

Oh, I know. I get money for the cartography stuff too, it's just so. Ugh. Anyway. Maybe next week I'll get the rest of it done. Or the week after. Or next year.

I've changed my mind. My new least favourite activity is logging into the forums to see half the community whining that FCs are too expensive, too slow, might be decommissioned, might not be indestructible battle wagons... blah blah blah... like a lot of babies.

You know how it is - always tempting to salt a positive thread, so I thought why not gather some salt separately in a proper container.

So my least enjoyable ED activity - no it's not engineers, I can just ignore them. Not really, but I do and that pits me against bulletsponged enemies in combat. Combat is my least enjoyable activity - I blame the powercreep for that. I used to do a lot of it before they notched up the NPC HP so much, but it simply didn't pay nor yield a fun experience anymore. Ships flying reverse as fast as they can fly / accelerate ahead adds in to the mix. My tolerance for nonsense is actually pretty big, but I just couldn't stomach the combat anymore.

So what's yours? Operating the FSS? Outfitting? Hitting "J" all the time? Alt-tabbing?

Mining old bean, Bally well like watching a video of watching paint dry.

One has often mused how many Cmdrs would do it if the payouts were a fraction of what they are now?

Tatty bye

All payouts were a fraction of what they are now. Mining just takes the cake but everything went through inflation. It went bonkers with engineers. And I supposed it will get worse - FC have given us a taste of it when they really make base building a thing.

It is kinda funny that mining is the best paid most lucrative activity now, thinking back it was by far the most offputting "Neverwannadoit" activtity in the whole game in the time before we had limpets.
