Has anyone heard about the 7800 XTX working with VR running ED yet?
From AMD's "Known issues" for the 7000 Series cards:Has anyone heard about the 7800 XTX working with VR running ED yet?
My 7900 XTX was running EDO, in VR, with everything maxxed out, at 90 FPS on my index earlier today. So, at a guess, I'd suggest that, for me at least, it is working in VR in EDO.Has anyone heard about the 7800 XTX working with VR running ED yet?
How unfortunate. Perhaps you should return it as faulty. My 7900 XTX has massive performance problems. Frames are around 30-40 in an AX ground combat zone, regardless of resolution (FullHD or 3840*1200) and graphics quality (low to ultra). My old RTX 3060 performed better - unbelievable

There are, certainly. EDO could stress them enough to get them a little warm! There are batches of reference 7900 XTXes with defective vapor chambers. A demanding title like EDO could easily cause problems with them.
AMD have said there are a small batch of GPUs where there is insufficient water in the vapour chamber of the XTX and their support will replace the GPU if you contact them.My 7900 XTX has massive performance problems. The latest driver for the 7900 XTX doesn't have this issue, I'm happy to say.It is still sad that Elite looked beter on my Radeon 580 than is does on my Radeion 6600Xt especialy stuf like the Oribial amd Gravity lines which on the 6600 are all a jaggy mess
Oh thank God you told us. This information will be crucial in fixing the issue for the people it does affect.I have always played with orbital lines off so this problem doesn't affect me![]()
That's the "recommended" 22.11.2 WHQL then ?The latest driver for the 7900 XTX doesn't have this issue, I'm happy to say.
That driver is only for the 7900 XTX (& XT?) I'm afraid. I had very good results with the latest AMD driver and the 'Fix #2' that Morbad suggested on my 6900 XT.That's the "recommended" 22.11.2 WHQL then ?
Hmm... I think I'll give it try then even though I'm still on a RX 6900 XT... (XFX MERC 319 Limited Black Ed. with XTXH chip)
How about Thin orbit lines and wierd looking planets that other AMD users have consistantly reported? There are, certainly. EDO could stress them enough to get them a little warm!
I admit that it was with that lottery in mind that I chose an AIB card with their own Heatsink assembly and 3 power connectors - and a hiked price to boot!
I've just done a quick stint at a planetary port and didn't drop below 100 FPs (1440, maxxed out quality settings) I'll record some tomorrow, it is late.
Yup, I noticed that, too, sadly still the same.22.12.2 still has orbit line issues on my AMD cards.
Right, they were broken since I installed the RX 6900 XT. What I actually meant was a return to the "normal" (unbroken) state as with my former RTX 2080 card...Anyway, there was no 'former state' for the 6000 series orbit lines. I've had a 6800 XT almost since it launched and the orbit line AA has always been broken.
Orbit lines are normal, as are planets. But, the 'Fix #2' lines may still be active, I've not checked yet.How about Thin orbit lines and wierd looking planets that other AMD users have consistantly reported?
