What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Today i started my propaply biggest project so far (that im actually having good progress on allready) and the first time ever im gonna build for an ape, a modern gorilla habitat with a fully functional house including (hopefully) build backstage, a viewer area and maybe an aviary.
I made some good progress so far, building a good bit of the hull and having made a plan for how it should look like in the end (hopefully)

For the planning itself, i want to do a naturalistic habitat that forms a panorama with the okapis and african pigs. I originally planned on making 2 yards for them, but that doesnt really work as i need to somehow bridge this with a staff path or half my tropical house and the okapis will have an even longer way to be reached. Maybe im gonna find a creative way to bridge the gap and put another yard for them where the exit is in the purple area, but we will see. Otherwise there will either be an implied aviary or the inside holding for another smaller animal like the caracal, best case we will get something small from tropical africa till i actually finish this lol, but for now i wanna focus on the right side. I also imagine them to live with other small primates like mangabeys, that could get a retreat area in the orange circle, or im just gonna put another viewing area there

There you go 🤣
I'm not too sure maybe some different variations of spellings found online
It's true: Europeans love the phrase "y'all"...

We had some people from England visit a few years ago and they were loving the y'all's and howdy's. They said it was cute😅

Maybe I'll copy-paste some animal names, as some of them do have accents on them, then see if I can save a creation as a blueprint and use it for future projects

If you meant the modifiers that go over/under letters ... most keyboards have an alternative function somewhere to provide those letters. You'll probably need to google it to figure it out for your particular language and keyboard.

I spent a ridiculous amount of time on starting a new zoo in the Meyers Island map (which turns out to be super buggy, alas). Turns out the Twilight masonry stands in pretty well for eroded bricks.

Also made a bunch of (or, well, three) 'new' plants. The one with the yellow fruits is in a pic.

Corto Island - somewhere Mediterranean possibly.

Unfortunately I don't have much time to play at the moment.
But made over the last 2? weeks a little bit of progress.

First I built the lower right corner in a farm and a pasture for cows and again a large field.
Then I set the boundary for the actual zoo and then I went north and built more buildings and a forest with a path on the far left.
Today I took care of the single-family houses, they always take the most time. I built 6 different ones so I hope it doesn't look so boring.

On my to-do list is still the vacant lot in the north, the fields and dirt roads and the planting of the ditches...then the DLC can actually come...I think.

Forgot to take pics, but here we go:

Howdy y'all. Welcome to another update of the WZO. We're proud to announce that we've begin redeveloping this old, rundown zoo-smuggling center into a bustling sanctuary for our beautiful animals.

We didn't want to completely redevelop the land (plus, we lack the resources to do that), so we began by redoing the lemur enclosure. Although it looks much better than the concrete box they were in, it still needs a lot of work.
Also, we blocked off the old crocodile area (2 disgusting concrete pools and rock all around). Guests are no longer allowed here and we moved out animals temporarily to another facility. We repurposed this ugly section for gardening and hay, preparing food for our animals...

That is all for today. I hope y'all enjoyed this update...

Since I'm struggling with ideas and inspiration for franchise mode, I for some reason went to sandbox (which in a way requires MORE inspiration). I began building, and it's not much but I have this nice little classic zoo entrance and a butterfly house right there, too. To the right I began a children's zoo, featuring llamas, camels, fallow deer, and a walkthrough peafowl habitat...

Next up, I'm gonna spruce the area up a bit, add some children's zoo stuff, faux playground (kids can look but not touch), and maybe a little pavilion for some super healthy pizza and coke...

A few months ago I started 2 new zoos.

The photos you will see are what my brain saw and recorded during my visit to this zoo and some from the internet. I haven't visited this zoo and the others for 5 years so that's all I remember.

The other I'll show you when I've finished the first zoo I haven't finished either

I managed to transfer some of my Mudley Zoo sandbox stuff to a new franchise zoo... I'm doing a new English franchise zoo with no particular theme and it's kind of a relief to not have to stick to particular stuff.

As an entry animal, I picked my favourite capybaras. They are so awesome, I love them! (I even have a capybara t-shirt hubby bought me for Xmas lol). I was quite proud of myself as I actually made my own education board thingy. I was going to box the speaker in with the smallest mesh as a fake deterrent to vandalism but, sadly, even the smallest mesh was too big.

Even with just the capys and two pygmy hippos I have already gotten 64k in money so I have added some of my Mudley Zoo decor and shops in - this is the walk from the entry area up past the shops towards the capys:

I am planning to have a path going in the other direction from the entry, curving around behind the shops with a butterfly exhibit or a reptile house.

Yesterday and today I played again for the first time in a month. I continued on the Asian small-clawed otter habitat that will hopefully be the start of the Asian section of my zoo. The building in the back is supposed to be an interior exhibit for orangutans and perhaps other species.

Did a bit of work with my gorillas and even managed to build a nice climbing frame, but latly my performance really sucks making it pretty unfun to play the game. Hopefully cleaning my pc will do the trick.

From the okapi side

It aint much but if i slowly make progress each time i play after some time my zoo will also look great, eventhough it isnt as immediatly gratifiyng. + Now that i startet the wall that seperates both enclosures i hopefully will soon be able to finish of the okapis, which i am quite excited for ^^
