Elite Dangerous Update 15 NOW LIVE - Release Notes

I am the only one who had the feeling that some improvements are made to fps? Will check it on high ground fight zone

Ok so a little bad news, the ground combats zone are now not much better perhaps some new drip downs mid ground war zone with fps between 35-60 not stable at all, and a new addition was made. My fans are starting to blow with 2000 rpm. This wasn’t the case before this update.

Someone who get same results?

My specs
Rtx 3060 12 GB
Ryzen 5 5600
Playing on full hd on tv (55‘)

How do we find the new Thargoid restore power missions? The patch notes says 'mission boards in systems in the Alert or Invasion states', so I've tried Garongxians and Wolf 121 (both are Alert systems). The stations there do not allow me to Disembark. The Odyssey settlements are offering missions, but not the new one.
The missions can be picked up from stations in Invasion systems, but they are in the Operations section.

... not thought about some prepartions in advance? Those new missions are right into centre of ongoing invasion. My advice is to build small fast ship (like for example I.Courier) with decent shields and some hull, land quickly 1-1,5 km from settlement, deploy SRV (Scorpion seems is better choice), dismiss your ship, and move closer. To be on safe side leave SRV 800-900 m from settlement ideally hidden behind some terrain obstacle and continue on foot, rest is up to you. I may only add that starting fight is not the best idea unless you are good with it (or you are going in group) and well prepared. Revenants are quite tough and nimble opponents.
No, I hadn't done any prep - at all. This was just a "feeling out" of the new content. From what you say though, I doubt I'll be bothering any more as it seems far too time consuming and um... for me, too difficult.

Please don't take this as a whine as that's not my intention. I would love to have a go at these things but I just don't have the stomach (athough my wife would disagree due to its proportions :D ) to plough much more of time into it - there are just loads of other things to do.

Well, took me minutes to upgrade on 900Mbps, I thought it had not done anything, but on launching, first thing I checked is FC's in system Map - WOW, just 1 placemark for ALL FCs and 2nd placemark for mine, WOW, Thank You for listening to us FDev!!

Looking forward to seeing all the other stuff in U15.
Unfortunately, I will have to grind for even the Caustic Heat Sink Launcher before getting the New Field Neutraliser as I am finding it difficult even to get 1 Caustic Tissue Sample in the Maelstrom - got everything else BTW :( (keep getting destroyed in Krait II, so maybe will try Conda tomorrow).

A coolish shieldless Clipper with A grade long range sensors and lots of limpets did it for me. Did all my scanning from 900+m away, never had one proximity detonate on me.

I think the tissue samples can be sold on FCs too, so capitalism could also be a solution.

I've got 5 stored on my FC, you are welcome to those if your bad luck continues!

Legacy is still default download on steam and cannot be uninstalled. When the promised depot change will be done ?

New mission types.... Same old biowaste!!
Here I am having powered up the settlement I was sent to, and having dispatched all the revenants that were here...

Despite having done this, the mission hasn't updated... in fact it has simply vanished from the top right display, where the updates should be showing. So we have the usual FD quality even if the content is supposed to be new...

BTW, the fires cannot be extinguished. No idea if this is by design or the usual reason.

Some more tiny typos to fix (as only max 10 screens one can post):

Hmm...

So my first attempt at a restore went Very Badly Indeed.

I'm not sure if this is by design or whether the whole thing needs a tweak.

  1. Hyperdicted twice on the single jump to the system
  2. Interdicted twice en route to the planet - neither interdiction could be evaded so it was a case of take damage and boost until waking again
  3. Reached the settlement but my ship was attacked before it could land
  4. The attacks knocked out my systems completely
  5. Rebuy screen

I'll admit that this was going into it "blind" so to speak so I have much to learn but... should it really be that difficult to even reach the mission base?
Especially those constant unavoidable interdictions are getting quite annoying. We'll probably have to unlock a new module for that at some point.

Apex Shuttle is again broken for me after update 15.
Trying transport missions in Procyon. All missions show "no drop off points on body" when you try to select the planet on the left side of the system menu this happens.
When you select the planet with left mouse and head in and select the drop off point it seems to work mostly.

Get out of the SRV and take them out on foot... MUCH easier. I used a combination of the executioner and tormentor
So, Manticore weapons are viable. That's all I use, but every suggestion I've seen was not Manticore. I might just look into some little Goid action after all. I still don't want anything to do with the big ones. I haven't seen one yet, and I don't want to :)

Just a few thoughts for you and the team.

Update 13 gave me hope for more of a science/non-combat route appearing, but the Kingfisher incident just before it, and then the content in Update 14 made it pretty clear the trajectory the team were pushing us along.
I'd hoped that Update 15 would bring more science, and there's a chance there will be some, but from the new module requiring combat materials to unlock it and my first looks into the Maelstrom it's definitely more combat focused.

It looks amazing! I love the whole aesthetics and the vibe, the audio is sublime, but pushing us down a combat only route is becoming increasingly disenfranchising for a growing number of players. And it's compounded by them feeling they don't want to even take part in new activities because they don't want the developers to think that people want to engage in that kind of content. And that is a real shame. Because if just getting to the centre is all we have that doesn't involve shooting things, then a lot of people will be disappointed.

A huge congratulations to the team for getting the update out and having a nice smooth launch.
Thargoids are certainly reacquiring the air of menace they had in the first game. Whether Fdev have over egged them a touch remains to be seen. For now we seem to be holding our ground amongst the populated systems within the Bubble so the trade loop shouldn't be too affected. Their spread through the uninhabited systems on the other hand might prove an issue for new explorers if left unchecked for too long.

grinding mats
The material requirement for the pulse neutraliser isn't high.
Realistically it's:
1 visit to a guardian site to pick up a relic
1 visit to the crashed thargoid ship to pick up sensor fragments and a probe
1 visit to a thargoid machine to pickle the relic into a grelic
1 visit to a maelstrom to headbutt the centre 5 times
Shoot a few scouts for propulsion elements

What grind?
