Always has done. You can just cancel it.
Yeah, it installed - and then without any input from me, restarted my pc. Wasn't a big problem, but might have been. Why are FD messing this stuff up so often, like the CG reward description, the previous launcher update fiasco etc?
It seems like somebody really needs to get a grip, and rethink their priorities as far as wasting their customers' time goes.
FD can create an awesome game and simulate the galaxy but not update a launcher? I remain hopefully enthusiastic about the game, but this stuff is amateurish.

Yes I am Sally.
I'm a Steam user, does this launcher mean that I will be able to have multiple ED accounts from the single Steam account? Will I need to log out of Steam and create multiple Steam accounts to have multiple cmdrs?
I purchased the game via Steam ages ago, but I never had to run Steam to play the game as I could just run the launcher using a desktop shortcut and everything was working just fine.
Until this version of the launcher.
The new launcher insists that I redeem a 25-digit code (what the heck is that and where can I find it?):
I can still launch the game through Steam but it's super tedious.
(launch Steam -> wait for it to update itself which it tends to do nearly every single time for some inexplicable reason -> wait for it to finally finish launching -> select game from list -> press the 'Play' button -> press another 'Play' button in a popup window -> wait for the launcher to start -> press 'Log in with Steam' in the launcher -> wait for the launcher to digest whatever data it was sent -> press yet another 'Play' button in the launcher)
It's okay to do it once but why do I need to go through it every single time? Why cannot the launcher just remember me?

Also, the launcher says Legacy Horizons is not installed while it's absolutely installed (and occupies ~10GB on my SSD):

FWIW, my PC didn't restart (Frontier installer / launcher)

Yes same for me.
I'm going to reserve judgement for a couple of days to let things settle down and see whether at least the information that was previously there like Game Version, Server Status will be added alongside the news.

On the old launcher there was an option to store the game files on a drive other than the default. How does one do that now?
1. Each run of launcher have to click "use steam account" and wait for that check. So it is +1 button click now.
2. Still no checkbox "exit launcher when game start" - I don't like to have running browsers, it can cut 3/4 of FPS in Elite. I even kill "steamwebhelper" because of it once games start.

LOL - are the launchers STILL at hosting.zaonce.net? I'm kinda surprised FD are even aware of that, let alone continue to support it. It always feels like I'm getting my launcher from a dodgy bloke in Kings Cross when I go there.
