Yeah, it's more of an indicator of what it won't be more than anything. For me, I'm thinking it will be something to fill a gap in a prior pack or that they want in the game's roster for posterity but can't fit into a planned pack.

Imagine getting the Hamadryas Baboon as the anniversary gift, after being picked over for not one or two but three packs!

I was being facetious/silly. Haha. There's been a few instances where mods requiring a lot of work have been updated or created, and shortly thereafter they wind up in the game. Not at all related to anything just dumb "luck" that it happens.

At any rate, I'm curious to see the impact (if anything) the anniversary animal and update has on speculation.

There are only a handful of animals where I could see it directly affecting speculation and these are the headliners things like the tree kangaroo, secretary bird and to a lesser extent markhor if these made it in the packs people have been making for them will hold less weight.

I’ve always wished frontier would stick to their planet series games and own titles. Frontier does amazing work on simulation games and what not. Just like jwe which is a great franchise don’t get me wrong and I’m sure a lot of money brought in but I’d take a planet prehistoric any day. There’s still a ton of money to be made with planet series games.

planet prehistoric would be fun but it would steer pretty close to prehistoric kingdom so its very unlikely what I do want to see but will likely never happen is a mash up between the 2 current planet games, a planet prehistoric and a planet aquarium to make the ultimate zoo and theme park builder.

What is everyone’s locked in guess for what the animal is? After you respond you can’t change your answer. Think carefully.

American black bear because even though it has alot of colour morphs alot of those are just hue shifts and if it was too be in any pack it would be incredible divisive because the community is very split at whether we need more bears or not and it looks like the only people strongly in camp black bear are the americans with everyone else being its an okay choice to down right hating its spot in a paid dlc making me think it would be a risky pack pick at least not until they are truly running out of ideas.

Alpaca (pretty sure it has been suggested before but not often)

Cuteness factor, popular on the internet and in pop culture, endless possibilities for color variations, spitting.
Lazy South American addition.
And I am pretty sure there would be an audience for it, if you look elsewhere than this forum.

To me it seems like an animal on Frontier's radar, yet the llama backfired enough to not make the alpaca a go to for a DLC.
Therefore I could see it as a free anniversary inclusion.
