The only way I would want this feature is if they gave us the ability to manipulate what filter affect what water I hate how a water heater will affect all water bodies in an area with no control. As for purpose it would be good for adding some complexity to multi animal exhibits and management variety as well as saltwater taking up more space money and effort to maintain.
I wouldn't hate them adding this as a tick-box but the second they tried to add a new facility to implement this... I would riot. Haha. But at the same time, I can see it feeling pointless along the lines of the exhibit humidity (i.e., it requires no skill or thought; just adjust to what they tell you to do).
But I'm also in the camp who doesn't care for how most of the facilities/management things we're required to place have been implemented. From the staff buildings to the utilities to the heaters/coolers for animals. I get why they're there (i.e., it's a game and you need to give the player
some sort of challenge) but they could all have been done
way better with a focus on realism that would have made the game feel more immersive when playing in non-sandbox mode (and less tedious for the player). But that's another topic for another thread...
Dang I forgot about the Arid pack having a 14 day gap, this is tricky now…
We know that there has to be at least a 9 day gap (8 screenshots + developer journal) assuming this next pack is an animal pack.
I also forgot about their two week break, so I think the pack has to be released on the 12th, with a launch about two weeks in advance, that being the 28th of November. On the other hand, grasslands was revealed on a Friday with a 10 day gap I believe.
So overall, we probably have a 90% chance of an announcement this week, either on Tuesday or Friday, it also depends if there will be a livestream. If there is, it’s gonna be Friday.
The Arid pack was the longest in a while. Prior to that the pattern was pretty consistent for about a year (~10 days). So I'd assume it'll be closer to that than anything longer... But that JWE2 release on the 30th may cause them to do it a bit earlier. So I could see a reveal happening on Wednesday.
EDIT: What has you thinking it could be tomorrow?!! Just a hunch?
Regarding your question WRT the livestream, folks who are usually part of it, etc. I'm not sure if anybody who usually appears on-camera has left the company but even if they haven't... It's bigger than that. Those themed streams cost money to put together. There's the behind-the-scenes staff who put them together who may have had some roles shifted. And then there's the interpersonal side of things to consider and how it might impact the presentation of the livestream.
There's a lot of factors to consider and so much of it probably depends on internal factors none of us have any idea about. So I've been trying to avoid speculation on that aspect of it beyond "It might change things; none of us know."
