Heh, gotta love how a whole bunch of my original list, and even a replacement, got added in these 2 years.

2. Habitat animals only; snakes and moths are exhibit animals.

Wooow, this message is sooo old, and I don't even know how I could have imagined Manatee was a valid option (full aquatic animals are impossible in my opinion in Planet Zoo 1
). And I CAN'T understand why there is NOT the South American Coati while it's my TOP 1 now !!Lezgo, 2024 will be the Coati Year !!!
List updated and we reached a new milestone! Over 650 participants
Way to go, many thanks @random goat - the work done on this has simply been spectacular, I consider it very likely it's the single most important thread we've had on the forum.
Interesting to see for myself,...back to my top 10 having 5 of the Meta List top 10...but no longer have a lot of confidence that we'll see more than one or two of those. Still we can hope, dream and talk about the animals. More discussion about the animals makes them higher profile IMO.
Also looked back on the very original list from late 2020. We've now gotten all of the top 22 animals from that list, as of the Eurasia pack. Coatimundi (23 on that list) and the Secretary Bird, Serval, Muskox and Walrus round out the top 30 at spots 27-30 respectively. That's only 5 animals from the first list's top 30 not yet in, over the last 3 years, and most of those were at the bottom of the top 30. The game's roster has sure come such a long way.
Also highlights the point that the most requested animals we have now are in the top spots not because they were always heavily requested or top priorities, they're on top of fhe list because something has to be at the top of a list; that's how lists work. Not denying they're popular requests..just diminishing emphasis of "most wanted".

But hey we also got the pelican on 19 with 96 and scarlet ibis on 47 with 49 votes, so atleast some of us developed taste buds for waterfowl early enough, mad respect

I was one that didn't even consider waterfowl...
I figured they wouldn't come or something. Now I hope for more! AT least 2 ducks, a goose, a randomish waterfowl that doesn't fit neatly into one of the categories of goose, duck or swan... etc...
