I take it being spotted with a neon orange/yellow beacon in your hands isn't a tactical advantage for the other side. Very attractive weapon at any rate, you are the "gunsmith".Finally completed my new AR50. Time to see how it holds up.

It's a pity that there are no assassination missions that reward 5 weapon schematics...I am currently waiting for the missions to recycle on the boards so they can offer me some MI's![]()
I haven't tried, but I'm pretty sure you can do it on your own too. Not as efficiently as a trained wing though.I went ahead and watched Mechan's "Titanfall" video on Youtube, because there is no way I'll be doing any of this new 'gameplay'.
It's striking to me how it requires a group of players, much like an end-game raid in an MMO. There's nothing you can do solo. This is a boss fight, and you need to come as a group.
It's also somewhat gross, to be honest. Expose the Titan's dangly bits and then shoot at them while it screams. Yeah, not the sort of feeling I want from the game myself.
The AX guys seem to be having fun with it, so more power to them.
Maybe once all this Thargoid focus dies down a bit, FDEV can throw a bone or two to the rest of us. It's been a long year of nothing new for anyone else.
One can hope.
I know what you mean.I realise that methodology will never get me into the end game stuff but I:m fine with that.
Yeah, but know you always have the standing invitation to occasionally, should the urge take you partake in some questionable multiplayer foolishness with our bunch. For scientific testing purposes of that AR50, for example.I'm not keen on having to "group up", personally. Just not my style. I know there's arguments for "but it's a multiplayer game" but I've always been a solo player.

Bad piloting is my speciality. It decreases the maximum speed at which the ship can travel, it has nothing to do with the minimum speed, you are entirely in control of that, so if you shoot past your target too fast, well that's all down to bad piloting I am afraid.
Thank you. I've opened it in a tab and I both love and hate you for making me read it.Time to repost this link, then

I've also gotten the impression that Frontier wants us to play together, while many "hide" in solo due to whatever reasons..
I wonder if that's a clue about what's to come? Maybe they intend to push the multiplayer aspect harder. They certainly could do that with an update to Powerplay.
I hope they don't go in that direction. The game has a lot of problems in multiplayer -- disconnects and bugs abound -- so I'm not thinking it would go well. Also, I like that until now you could choose any of the modes and do just fine.
I was worried when I made the initial comment about gimbled weapons that people might take it as a dig. That wasn't the intention. There's the challenge aspect with fixed weapons but there's also the logical choice of using gimbles for larger ships or just when you want to try saving time, like you say.Wow, that is interesting to read, too, when more exp cmdrs go chatty about ship combat!
@KnezBP : with all due respect to PvE/PvP aces that would obliterate every NPC (and each others on YT) within seconds, as being myself a low combat-skilled, petty adventurer with random ships, I don't feel ashamed to use gimballed, because every little advantage that can improve my survival in ED harsh universe is worth to be taken, especially while on the process of learning with a more vulnerable ship and poor know-how, and when surrounded by a swarm of NPC pirates, I don't care about chivalry jousting.
(Sorry about the spam, too much spare time with that crippled wrist and ED still updating...)
The thing is gimballed and turret mounted weapons as a system must be superior to fixed or FDev wouldn’t have made the fixed ones more powerful to compensate.I was worried when I made the initial comment about gimbled weapons that people might take it as a dig. Oh, you are completely right IMHO. I find ED really good at letting people do whatever they want and still be able to play the game overall. Certain little things may be specific to a certain kind of configuration, but the game never pushes you to do that like it were absolutely mandatory for enjoying it, and one can go for all kinds of experiments to find what suits their need or just out of curisity. That's what I wanted to emphasise about me not being ashamed in general to try things, more than a tribute to any kind of weapon in particular.I was worried when I made the initial comment about gimbled weapons that people might take it as a dig. I've always taken my own path in life, I've never been one to take up what everyone else is doing. I'm completely secure in who I am and how I do things, my military training has taught me to adapt. Your plans will always fall apart in combat, it's a certainty, if you can't react to it you will lose. I had etched in my brain to use any and every advantage at your disposal, always keep fighting and moving forward, close with and destroy your enemy by any means.I was worried when I made the initial comment about gimbled weapons that people might take it as a dig. I'm sorry if it came across like that, I put "hide" inside of quotes to make the joke more obvious.. As far as I'm concerned anyone can play in whatever mode they want to.It's a perfectly cromulent game mode, are we really still bashing folks for using it![]()
No worries - I wasn't clear enough myself - I really meant we the forum users in general, not just you!I'm sorry if it came across like that, I put "hide" inside of quotes to make the joke more obvious.
I think it is the "more time on the target" thing that makes the difference. The thing is gimballed and turret mounted weapons as a system must be superior to fixed or FDev wouldn’t have made the fixed ones more powerful to compensate.
I've gone there, too, for some time. But I unwatched them, so they won't bother me anymore. No worries - I wasn't clear enough myself - I really meant we the forum users in general, not just you!
I've also been looking in on the 'salt mine threads' since the update dropped, and I really should know better, it always makes me cranky!
Bad piloting is my speciality.
Guys, you heard that? Out friend Tyres said he's gonna invite us all on his expense to his place for a drink altogether when the page count is 2000!I'm not keen on having to "group up", personally. Just not my style. I know there's arguments for "but it's a multiplayer game" but I've always been a solo player.
Sounds nifty! I did set up a player group aimed at thread regulars (and irregulars as well as lurkers) some time ago. Didn't really take off as I guess we all do our own thing.Guys, you heard that? Out friend Tyres said he's gonna invite us all on his expense to his place for a drink altogether when the page count is 2000!
45 more to go, but, still... That's a lot of planes tickets, drinks, and bedrolls to pay for, not counting the fees for the monument, a full scale reproduction of the Codger Rock in front of the house.
Ok, just kidding, but knowing that, I challenge you: would you mind we group up ingame just for a 2000 reached commemorative screenshot altogether behind you (a Codger Rock with CMDR Codger on top of it nearby should be a nice dramatic touch of course)?
