What if we got something to do with the Thargoids that wasn't just killing them?

If Frontier want people to not have any moral scruples, they should probably stop writing events in such a way to suggest that the military-industrial complex might be in the wrong here. Like, it wouldn't be hard. Just have the Thargoids stop waiting for provocation from the powers before retaliating. Sparing ships in hyperdictions? Hell no. Ending the attack on the Gnosis by returning the meta-alloys? Of course not. Definitely don't write stuff in where people deliberately cause Thargoid attacks for political gain. Just have them be evil bugs. It'd be so much easier.
The Thargoids need not be evil. They just are alien. Completely different in a Stanislaw Lem sense. They crush us like flies. Should we do the same in turn? That is a good question, but I don't think FD asks it. We crush Thargoids to survive. it's a good cause. It's the only cause. There is no alternative coded into the game. This alternative is just as alien to FD as we are to Thargoids.

Literally anything from the Thargoids that impedes our God-given right to the entire galaxy is a hostile act, apparently. Even a temporary, nondamaging shutdown pulse that spares life support. Even a scan when all that scan enables is the option to let uninvolved ships go.
By that definition the Stars in systems could be impeding you as they stop you from travelling in a straight line sometimes and stop your travel. Just because the Thargoids pull you over doesn't mean it's hostile, if they pulled you over then killed you that would be different.

It's the Thargoids who abduct humans in the millions for unspeakable experiments and abuse. It's not even a question anymore whether they are aggressors or not. They implant moles in human societies to sway public opnion and soften their resolve. A bit like genestealers do in WH40K. These mind controlled drones then would attempt to influence public opinion about Thargoids being peaceful and harmless.
So moving civilians out of a warzone, and keeping them alive is aggressive I do believe that a humanitarian act 😉

As for the 40K stealers they are vangards to Tyranids which is a MUCH worse thing than Thargoids at present ;)

Elite Dangerous’s galaxy is capitalism on steroids. Everything anti-Thargoid, researching them, killing them, evacuating the wounded - generates monetary gain. Thats why there’s no chance of peace with them. The Thargoids missed a trick here. If they’d offer to pay more than the human factions do they’d win.

Offer beads & shiny things and the PF would party with them without a 2nd glance toward the bubble... (particularly shiny things...)

Can't speak for anyone else, but I know I'd turn my tail to the Bubble and sign up with the Thargs the moment they offer self-repairing armor and their version of FSD that allows free-roaming in hyperspace and jumping into any point in the realspace:p Like a magpie I'm really easily distracted by shiny, glittering things🙃

You are not alone...

Said it twice before now, probably... but I'd help them figure out certain, uh, malfunctions that their Titans and spires may have experienced recently.

Providing it doesn't come with a 'No more contact with humans fine print'. That may complicate matters.

Abduction is a crime in itself and a systematic aggression. It doesn't matter if the abductees are used for sinister purposes. Mass displacement is a capital crime against humanity. You maybe need to get your priorities more straight.
Abduction which was provoked by...?

Maybe those twice attempted genocides and humanity attacking Thargoids unprovoked at every possible instance soured their opinion of us slightly

"We crush thargoids to survive"

Ah yes, "survival" where you actively go out of your way to pick a fight with the only other discovered sentient species in the galaxy, who are much more advanced than us and could actually decimate humanity with ease if it wasn't for the plot armour of humanity protecting us

No it absolutely does not, check the video a couple of posts above this one.
I am talking about how PBR lighting behaves because it is something i know from space engineers and as someone else said, that is enough off topic. xD

Well, that would be interesting; some still do non-hostile hyperdictions outside the bubble so it is unknown if they are another group.
(i haven't researched their marking recently)

In any case the fact that taranis still has control systems makes me think it's not completely over in that area.

I don’t quite think it is either, but we’ll have to see how much humans get slapped in the face (figuratively) once we get to investigate the remains in the cloud.

To me, it speaks for itself that despite the claim from the Pilot’s Federation(definitely a trustworthy source that should not be questioned at all), the Thargoids have not actually abandoned Taranis’ system yet, when they wouldn’t need over a week to do so.

(Not willing to make any statements to the continued presence of anti-Guardian field. At least not until the coming Thursday, but… well, without an active Titan to generate it, I’d have expected it to stop functioning pretty quickly. Instead, it only is disabled or no longer causes distortions once you’re getting close to the Titan’s location.)

funni meme pls laugh.png

Survival is only a concern for the plebs who aren't rich enough to just avoid the consequences. So not really a priority for the true elites.

Almost can't wait to see what will happen with the spire site after tomorrow.

As to the OP having the pleiades back to their former peaceful selves could imo be nice as it is a very beautiful location otherwise with much to see and discover.
-the events leading to such a state could be something along the lines of the thargoids there becoming invincible and then evicting all the aggressive factions. XD
