What if we got something to do with the Thargoids that wasn't just killing them?

Addressing your "Cyclops may be a kind of scout" - They have those already, the Thargoid Scouts.
I see the scouts more as drones; i think their boosting each other mechanic is neat.

When i said scouts i meant as in frontrunners; they were also the first type we encountered.
(again they seem like an older variant, most likely one that has been around for millenia hence crash sites)

As to the OP, has anyone been to the pleiades recently because the place is so much not what it used to be.

That has been a frequent ask by players and we had a couple attempts to find out if there is anything peaceful to do. By now I think we can assert that peaceful interaction just isn't FD's vision for story and/or gameplay.

Elite can in part be called a live rpg; not everyone is aware of this; wrt current course the reason was answered in another thread.

(RP):
"The Pleiades used to be a place of serenity and wonder, now all that is left is an industrial wasteland, littered with the carcasses of thargoid vessels, some still calling out in agony. -some might say after seeing the battlegrounds that it is no wonder they attacked.
Even the picturesque location of the Stargazer was invaded by another faction."

The Pleiades do not actually look like an industrial wasteland at all.

Killing Thargoids did not ruin the Pleidaes.
Odyssey did.

The rings near Titan's Daughter in Taygeta used to look like this:

Then Odyssey ruined stellar lighting and goodbye beautiful blue ring, there's only a boring run-of-the-mill ring out there now.

It still looks good in Legacy Horizons, but not in Odyssey. 🤷‍♂️

BTW any kind of lighting should be perfectly capable of handling the color of the light source.
If it's not, then you cannot call it Physical Based Rendering.
BRR (Bug Ridden Rendering) is probably a better acronym.
So to determine if it is an Odyssey thing or a Live thing how is it in Live Horizon compared to Legacy?

Live Horizons is the exact same game as Odyssey. Literally the same install, same game files, same code, only the on-foot parts are disabled.

If you only have Horizons access and you want to play Live Horizons, EDO gets installed on your PC, in its entirety. If you purchase Odyssey access later, you won't have to install anything. It's just a software key that unlocks the on-foot part and that's it.

Right I was just checking.

Anyway, back to the topic...

One Titan has already been killed, another is quickly on it's way to suffering the same fate of being killed for wanting to defend it's species from genocidal maniacs.

And don't try to pretend that label doesn't apply to humanity, humanity has committed numerous unprovoked attacks against Thargoids, then when the Thargoids showed they were more than capable of defending and retaliating against the attacks, humanity desperately threw out biological weapons against the Thargoid species. The Thargoid species were decimated by this bioweapon and disappeared from known history.

Then they returned 300 years later (I think? Not clear on the timelines), with entirely passive reactions to human pilots. They would merely hyperdict (later shutdown pulse), scan, then go about their business if nothing of interest was found.

And yes I've heard the terrible argument before that "hyperdictions are a hostile act! Using their shutdown field is a hostile act! Scanning us unpermitted is a hostile act!". But I mean... is it really? When you're pulled over by police on the roadside, what happens? The cops 'hyperdict' you (stop your vehicle hopefully politely), 'shutdown' you (ask for the car to be turned off), then 'scan' by asking questions and such.

Every interaction between Thargoids and Humanity has always ended in humanity deciding that they want more and don't care that another race has already claimed that space. As I believe someone in this thread said earlier:

Take the Pleiades nebula for example, when evidence of Thargoid presence was discovered, then their ships were sighted again in the area, did humanity back off as a gesture of goodwill, showing that they didn't mean to invade another species space? No, we doubled down, built occupying settlements in their territory, established military presences over their claimed resources, attacked any thargoids that appeared...

Then they returned 300 years later (I think? Not clear on the timelines), with entirely passive reactions to human pilots.
It's more around 150-200 years, if memory serves.

And I think humans will have to learn eventually they're not the core of everything (at least within the limits of this story). If they don't realize it themselves, then by the time bricks are properly dropped on their heads. Or our heads, I suppose.

The only question is the end of the Thargoids story doesn't have to be our victory it could be far worse, just because we can destroy titans don't mean there isn't far worse things they could do.

Literally anything from the Thargoids that impedes our God-given right to the entire galaxy is a hostile act, apparently. Even a temporary, nondamaging shutdown pulse that spares life support. Even a scan when all that scan enables is the option to let uninvolved ships go.

It doesn't have to be our victory, but I suspect it will be. Frontier are moving on to PP2 (and the new thing).

"Ow! What was that for?"
"It didn't kill you, shut up and take my abuse"
