Frontiers is one month earlier I think, we seem to ask this in every speculation thread but keep forgetting.Isnt the fiscal year 1st of july to 30th of june ?
I think it’s interesting that it’s the first time a console release is happening for a game with DLC still being developed. I honestly don’t think a DLC for PC will be released until April or even May as they’ll want full focus on console in all their marketing channels, otherwise it all gets diluted. I may be wrong. But I think it’ll be console celebration, breathing space then ending PC development with a big moment (including the DLC being a bigger offer) when console hype dies down a bit.So keep in mind the JWE2 DLC came out of literally nowhere, yes it was released in its usual timeframe but there was no hints to it and it was not mentioned in the frontier unlocked prior. So, I don't think we need to wait til the end of march livestream to get an announcement of some sort, it could just be announced randomly within the next 1-3 weeks. I'm more leaning towards an announcement in the week of March 31 - Apr 6, just to give the console a week after release for them to showcase doing posts like "what animals have you built for already?" and stuff like that - or they could immediately announce it on the thursday or friday of the same week the console is out (Mar 28 or 29) and be like "well we've treated the console players well, now lets get adventuring with some new animals for everyone!"
True but they can't wait too long because then PC players will start to become uninterested because they figure there is no DLC this time around. No later than April imo.I think it’s interesting that it’s the first time a console release is happening for a game with DLC still being developed. Took the words out of my mouth, what else is left to say? In the end I could spin a yard about what animals are actually needed, but what are the odds the final dlc will be close to that? I love Frontier, but odds are the final pack may have a single bird and monkey. Which I have to be honest, the more I think about that the less I want some of the other meta wishlist animals. I know this is selfish, but I wish the final dlc could make me feel more represented. Give me birds and monkeys, honestly at this point I don’t want anything else.Yeah.
A combination of getting news and promotional material only for the console version which not many of us has much interest in, a general sense that the game is ending and that the next DLC is probably the last so we know we will be dissapointed regardless of what it is because of Frontier's track record with roster selection compared to community's picks and because a lot of community favorites will be left out for good from the game if they don't make into the next pack, and also the fact that we have pretty much covered all there was to talk about in speculation about the new upcoming content (wishlists, themes, animals, props, updates, etc).
In fairness, both the official and 2024 Meta-wishlist are filled with monkeys and birds.Which I have to be honest, the more I think about that the less I want some of the other meta wishlist animals.
If It's The Final One San Diego Zoo With Stuff Like A New Scenery Set, Secretary Bird, Spectacled Bear, California Condor, Hamadryas Baboon, Coatimundi, Matschie's Tree Kangaroo, Ocelot, Lord Howe Island Stick Insect, King Cobra, Rainbow Lorikeet, Tuatara And, Bali Myna.Alright, though experiment, excluding Latin America/America or "Around the World" finale vibes, what are other themes you could realistically see being the next DLC?
Every time someone suggests a San Diego pack, I delay any possible return to my recreation of it by 5 yearsIf It's The Final One San Diego Zoo With Stuff Like A New Scenery Set, Secretary Bird, Spectacled Bear, California Condor, Hamadryas Baboon, Coatimundi, Matschie's Tree Kangaroo, Ocelot, Lord Howe Island Stick Insect, King Cobra, Rainbow Lorikeet, Tuatara And, Bali Myna.
If It Isn't The Final One I Could See Climbing Pack With Gridded Mesh Pieces, Some Primates, Crocodile Monitor, A Goat And Rainbow Lorikeet.
Big-Headed Turtle. This Is Now My Number 1 Exhibit Animal Choice. Look At Him. He Is Perfect.you guys could make a single species guaranteed, what species would you choose?
FY definitely starts with 1st of June for Frontier specifically (I've been firmly corrected recently). The new financial year starts April 1. The next dlc will be before that.
controversial choice but I want leopard seals saw them once when I was younger they are super interesting animals. If you guys could make a single species guaranteed, what species would you choose?
Months of waiting to be greeted with a bug fix would be so painfulI'm guessing there might be a bugfix update in April, given the gift shops still need fixing.
They've been updating it but the key outsource file hasn't been updated yet. So that doesn't really mean much WRT the next DLC. It's probably them working on the franchise and gift shop issues TBH.The last two planet coaster DLC were in April and June 2019. I know the pattern was slightly different but I’m wondering with the console release, if the final DLC will be released in June and be a bigger one than normal, with a new game aiming for November release.
Having said this I’ve noticed on Steam Database it’s being updated later in the evening, which means the team are working late and is usually a sign of things ramping up.
I’ve seen so many guesses for when it starts and ends I give up, who knows lol
Nobody's guessing as to when the financial year starts and ends... It's listed as May 31 right on their web site. And its in the financial docs. The new financial year starts April 1. The next dlc will be before that.
The presentation was pretty explicit. It lists "Planet Zoo PDLC" under the "H2 FY24 New content/Platforms" heading. With "FY25 New Game Releases" below it referencing F1 Manager and the own-IP CMS game. So something is definitely coming for PZ before end of May.Based on the steamDB, it looks like we're close to eliminating April for a DLC ("outsource_lqa" updates about 5-6 weeks before a DLC and hasn't updated yet).
Looking into the FY2024 presentation, it apparently says more DLC is planned, but doesn't seem to expressly say this Financial year, though certainly is implied (the original video doesn't exist anymore, just what was commented about it).
The latest they've done a DLC in April is the 17th, which was still before Easter for that year (2019). They've not done a May DLC across the 4 Parkbuilders, but they have done earliest June. Latest May would effectively be the same, so it looks like maybe the direction this is headed.
