Well for me (how i was taught about it) there are three subcontinents: south, central and north. North it does indeed include Mexico though. I just forgot lol The rest of the countries i always think about as Central America rather than as part of North America... and i'm not sure how the Caribbean islands fit into this.Yeah i feel sometimes people forget that there are 20ish countries in NA, not only the us and canada lol![]()
Yeah fair enoughYeah but at that point what isnt a clone? I mean both of these pairs are entirely unrelated. If taking the base rigs as a base for another animal does count as a clone the devil is a raccoon clone
A big ole turtle. Freshwater though.damn, I've never had to scroll to find the Summer Speculation thread, usually right at the top
So other than the casual birds, SA, and monkeys, what animals would you want to see in a "collection pack?"

Out of the cats left is the one that needs an official version the most (if the fur texture is done right). Serval and ocelot mods look very good. Serval would benefit of new jumping animations though (and hope that would be added to the caracal as well). Plus Palla's cats have become an internet meme lately so it also has that going for it for Frontier to pick them.I am surprised how much attention the Pallas cat got lately. Never seen it as something that is needed personally. I am probably biased, but still, surprising.
I have no objections if handled well almost every animal can be a habitat animalHmm sounds convincing. Then here’s my other question: if we can use animals usually kept indoors as an argument to suggest an aviary bird as a habitat animal then would anyone object if I suggest that birds of prey and parrots be added as habitat animals as well?
I think I have seen an ibis fly less then half a dozen times in my life and I see them almost everyday they mostly walk around and only fly when where they need to be is out of walking distance. For me the indicator for exhibit vs habitat when it comes to birds isnt if they can fly or in which way they are kept in real life.
For me the important thing is if they would look believeable as habitat animals, which means without flight.
And admittedly ibises are kinda pushing it in that regard.
But imo they would work perfectly fine as habitat animals if they get some kind of enrichment item to perch on
Everyone is biased. That is why a lot of this community views the secretarybird as essential to a zoo (it really isn't).I am surprised how much attention the Pallas cat got lately. Never seen it as something that is needed personally. I am probably biased, but still, surprising.
The UN has subregions in roughly that way, North, Central (Including Mexico), South & Caribbean.Well for me (how i was taught about it) there are three subcontinents: south, central and north. Aside from those the only inclusion I need to be happy with a final "Zookeeper's Collection" pack would be either the tree roo or echidna, just one of the two. If we get both right at the last minute my soul will leave my body and I'll ascend. So other than the casual birds, SA, and monkeys, what animals would you want to see in a "collection pack?"
Well, all tropical animals I see as essential are, by now, in one of those categories (birds, monkeys,SA).So other than the casual birds, SA, and monkeys, what animals would you want to see in a "collection pack?"
100% this. Echidna is my personal priority, but getting both in a send-off would make me the happiest boyo alive. Even more if we get a baboon too.Aside from those the only inclusion I need to be happy with a final "Zookeeper's Collection" pack would be either the tree roo or echidna, just one of the two. Actually a really solid lineup, would even pay twice as much as usual for such a pack.Let's assume 13 animals is the goal to reach 200+. And two of them must be Exhibit animals possibly at least one WTE. These 13/14 animals would be 12 for a Zookeeper's collection DLC and one Anniversary (or even maybe two to compensate for year one not having one).
My picks would be
ZK DLC
- Coati (SA 1, arboreal carnivore, carnivore 1, cloneish)
- Mara (SA 2, rodent)
- Blackbuck (India, ungulate 1, clone)
- New world monkeys: Howler / GLT / Spider monkey (SA 3, arboreal primate, monkey 1)
- Hamadryas baboon (África, monkey 2, arid primate)
- Musk ox (Arctic-NA-Europe, ungulate 2)
- Great white pelican (Europe-Africa, bird 1, swan based)
- Goodfellow's tree kangaroo (Oceanía, marsupial)
- Palla's cat (Asia, carnivore 2, cat clone)
- Sea otter (NA, carnivore 3, otter clone)
- Grey crowned crane / Secretary bird (Africa, bird 2, clone-unique rig)
- WTE: hummingbirds / Tamarins
Anniversary: Ex: king cobra + Greater Rhea (Birds 3, clone)
I don't personally care about the two remaining bears but it would be weird to have all the species minus those two so is possible they are included.

Why tho? The coati can be done using a modified raccoon rig whilst the tree roo can borrow a lot from the quokka, neither would be a gargantuan task to make. And I'm sticking to the thought that we will NOT be getting both a Coati and Tree Kangaroo in the same pack. If it's broken up into two packs though I can see them both making it in.
I just really want hummingbirdsActually a really solid lineup, would even pay twice as much as usual for such a pack.
Except the hummingbirds. I've read this here quite often. Why are so many thinking we a) would realistically get hummingbirds and b) in a WTE? They are quite sensitive and not really made for walkthrough exhibits in my opinion. Yes, from a game mechanic point hummingbirds would only make sense in a WTE. Still I'm not a fan of this idea.
Tamarins in a WTE would be cool so. I could also imagine a South American bat like the Seba's short-tailed bat as the WTE animal. It would be our third bat, so probably not the favourite of everyone but since the other two bats are fruit bats and not from South America, they would still bring sth different to the game in my opinion.
The two-toed sloth would be another South American option for the WTE (but probably even more controversial than a third bat).
Tbh none of the animals i listed required porcupine levels of work. Most if not all could be made based on already existing rigs. Mara and secretary bird seem to be the most unique ones. Why tho? The coati can be done using a modified raccoon rig whilst the tree roo can borrow a lot from the quokka, neither would be a gargantuan task to make.
