Planet Coaster 2: Speculation and Rumors

Scaling is mentioned on the steam page, and steam has the game listed as co-op.
Well dang, didn't know they had it up on Steam already.
Some creators were given demos and now that the game is officially announced, they’re releasing game play content. Head over to YouTube. Rudi went over how the scaling works in a video posted a little bit ago.
I'll check it out after work. I'm stoked about this, probably moreso than any game in a long time.

I'm sure one of the burning questions on everyone's mind is going to be about large parks and performance. Is moving to DX12 gonna give us some improvement in that area.

I see some of the same flat rides from PC1 like the giant ferris wheel and the giant swing ride. But, I spotted some new ones, too. I was hoping they would give us a giant wheel like RCT3 or RCT World that has square cabins and spokes on the wheel, not like the other one that looks like Coney Island's Wonder Wheel. But we didn't see everything yet. I don't mind an upgraded PC1 but it should be different enough from PC1 and have more stuff. It does though have the same cartoony look as PC1 rather than a more realistic simulator like NoLimits 2 or Theme Park Studio. Bit the graphics do look upgraded. My other concern is that it won't run on anything under Windows 10. I know Steam stopped supporting older Windows versions but PC is still working on Win 8.1 for me. Because Park Beyond requires Win 10 minimum. I do have a second computer I could install Win 10 or 11 on because I want to keep using 8.1 on the computer I'm using. It was my mom's computer and she passed 2 years ago. This reminds me of RCT3 Soaked!. We finally get working swimming pools and water slides in PC2. They finally listened to the wishes for water park elements for the sequel. I hope we can make lazy rivers. RCT3 didn't really have those where people would sit on innertubes and float down a water channel. I'll upgrade to a newer Windows on the other computer just for this. I hope the price is reasonable. And I'm sure we will get expansion packs like PC1. I want to see more flat rides, tracked rides, and more car types for tracked rides. And log flume, rapids, and even a splash flume with bigger boats like RCT 1-3 had. We got the flume and rapids in PC1 but the boat ride with bigger boats is hard to make steep drops with. And the water coaster doesn't have a solid drop channel like the flume has. I also want spooky/horror theming in PC2 and several types of dark ride cars and working bang doors that aren't so big like the default ones.

PLEASE incorporate VR compatibility for Planet Coaster 2!!!!! It would take an already amazing park-building sim to the next level as a ride simulator and in being able to walk through parks through your guests' eyes!

Its in the Steam description, so looks like thats gonna be a yes. Can't wait to do these myself. Gonna have one a couple miles long.

Where does this information come from?
On the official PC site description is written that
  • (non sync) co-op building is possible over all platforms.
  • You have to protect to protect the peeps from sun and rain.
  • The pathing tool is upgraded and will allow small plazas, too.
  • There will be 5 designs (themes?)
  • lazy rivers
  • animatronic shows with event creator

The first negative thing I have seen so far is that there were mixed up peeps with swim wear and street wear at pool areas. Hopefully it will be splitted completely at release.

I hope this is just the beginning and that we will get more themed packs and ride packs like PC1. 5 themes is kind of small. I hope they improve the pathing system because making large paved areas is currently a pain in the butt. I was hoping the sequel would be like an improved PC but with stuff from RCT3 mainly the water parks and some flat rides like Sky Swing, Slingshot, and Gravitron. I see there are black people now. But I think there were black people in PC1. My local park is very diverse now.

They will probably have changing rooms like RCT3. Hopefully that was just a bug but at my local park which has a water park people can walk through it in regular clothes but shirts and shoes are required for the regular ride park except for some water rides close to the water park.

Changing rooms have been confirmed within the screen shots :)

having waterparks'll be awesome but weirdly, being able to add scenery to rides is the thing i'm most excited about. one of my biggest complaints with the first planco was that a lot of coaster trains and flat rides (gears of fear is the big one) had overspecific theming that made them look out-of-place in most scenarios, so letting the player customise all that themselves is awesome.
also, it lets us essentially make custom trains. yes please

idk if we're getting dynamic track pieces - switch tracks, tilt track, elevator lifts/drops - but they're still something i'm really holding out for. i hope frontier lifts dioramas and the ability to make full-fledged gift shops from planet zoo to planco 2 too

I think it was one of the plancotubers with demo acess that asked frontier about this and they said yes about drop tracks. I don't know about the rest.

I read that apparently drop tracks are confirmed.

I’m wondering the Splash shop is similar to the Planet Zoo gift shops.
