I really like Sifaka's irl and I really hope Frontier doesn't pull a donkey and makes it have the regular lemur walk and run instead of having its normal. While yes, it have it niche, i would much prefer have the blackbuck with is a lot more versatile and relevant for a zoo scenery
While sifakas are my favorite lemurs, i really cannot express the feeling of knowing i could finally got a tamarin, a spider monkey or a howler, but instead we got a 4th lemur
To me.
I thought that was very obvious
macaw has been in there for a long timeI've never scrolled through that dictionary before, but has Macaw always been in it? It's the second word under M. Is there even a reference to Macaws in the game?
radio silence isnt a new thing they have actually given us more information about this pack then pretty much any other.I want to believe in your theory, but i just can't. All the waiting, the radio silencie, the PC 2 reléase, this lineup full of Metawishlist animals... It all feels like the last pack.
Can't wait for this to age like milkSurely the only reason they could be doing that would be to save having actually good SA representation for the sequel right?
Coati to be fair. What would you prefer if you could only choose one:
Coati
Or
Howler?
You made some good points. Regarding this one, unofficial consensus is that the theme will be "Zookeeper's Collection" since the last JWE2 pack was "Park Manager Collection" (or smth along those lines) and was a mish-mash of everything popular.
- The theme. What even is the theme of this pack? It can't be a "community favourites" pack as a lot of iconic New World animals (which have been very heavily requested by the community) are missing; the inclusion of Oceanian animals, however, makes the supposed "Old World" theme feel a bit weird
As a typical animal pack this would be beautiful! As a last pack, it would not be good at all... There would be too much left out IMO. Only the echidna, Secretary bird and maybe the baboon, fix some of the holes in the roster. So I love this possible pack but hope if its right that its not the last one.
If that really is the case... Well, I feel bad for all the people who desperately wanted South American animals and didn't get them in the end, but for me this is the ideal pack! I'm always down for more Oceanian creatures, as well as more habitat reptiles (plus dik-diks are really cool, and don't get me started on the sifaka...)You made some good points. So that theme is vague enough and yet covers everything
It would make sense for the 6 month time, Sifaka rig and animations is a really hard one to due, the hair quality needed for Hamadrya's is going to require perfection, Tree Kangaroo will need a ton of arboreal animations as it's mostly a climbing one, Markhor will probably use Alpine Ibex, Kirk Dik's Dik's will probably use a modified gazelle rig, Secretary will have a ton of animations needed.Well, it sure feels weird to be back...
I was missing the PZ community.
First of all, I'm so happy that we're getting a new DLC no matter what it is, and if it really turns out to be the one that was leaked on the dictionary, well... I'm so hyped.
However, some things about this leak make me feel a bit sceptical:
- Eight habitat animals. We usually get a maximum of 7
- Of these 8 animals, 2 are primates, and both completely different from what we already have in-game (something we have never seen before, considering how rarely we even get primates)
- Five animals in the pack will need completely new rigs and animations, compared to the usual 2 or 3 new rigs we get in each DLC
- The theme. What even is the theme of this pack? It can't be a "community favourites" pack as a lot of iconic New World animals (which have been very heavily requested by the community) are missing; the inclusion of Oceanian animals, however, makes the supposed "Old World" theme feel a bit weird
At the same time though, these are what I think could be some solid "counter arguments":
- By Frontier's own admission, this DLC has been in the works since at least April (they confirmed it in the stream, together with the animal reveals for Barnyard Pack). This would mean that at this point this new pack has been worked on for nearly 6 months, which is a totally reasonable time to create all the new animals. For all we know, they could have been working on the new pack while they were also working on Barnyard (considering how most of the Barnyard animals were already rather similar to animals we already have)
- Oceania is kind of ambiguous, as it's considered neither Old World nor New World. Plus, both the Tree Kangaroo and the Echidna are found in New Guinea, which could be technically considered part of Asia...
- It's unlikely in my opinion, but there may be another pack coming, and that could represent the Americas ("New World")
I can’t check because I’m away but I’m pretty sure that one is part of the binturong Zoopedia entry. And the civet.
I wouldn’t give up hope yet. There’s still hope for SA representation in this next pack. It’s feasible the names haven’t been added to the dictionary yet and/or species may already be in there (black howler monkey). For me I would have loved a rainforest pack, or maybe some sort of tropical house pack. Likewise another South America or Bird pack would have been nice.
It just feels odd that the stuff we have talked about for the past, two years maybe, is not the main focus of the pack. But, considering the financial report more DLCs are plausible.
Coati! But I’d miss the howler. What would you prefer if you could only choose one:
Coati
Or
Howler?
And God knows how much time they spent crafting those difficult Spider Monkey animationsIt would make sense for the 6 month time, Sifaka rig and animations is a really hard one to due, the hair quality needed for Hamadrya's is going to require perfection, Tree Kangaroo will need a ton of arboreal animations as it's mostly a climbing one, Markhor will probably use Alpine Ibex, Kirk Dik's Dik's will probably use a modified gazelle rig, Secretary will have a ton of animations needed.
Every time someone says it they know the answerthe hair quality needed for Hamadrya's is going to require perfection
Oh No... O NOOOOO
Tbf they were doing hair really well last few packs, I believ Barnyard pack was either really rushed or last minute idea
Last time I checked it was a filler pack just to get done with the Barnyard theme, post it and then work blood, sweat and tears into the beautiful Sifaka.Tbf they were doing hair really well last few packs, I believ Barnyard pack was either really rushed or last minute idea
