Same goes for meSo yeah not essential, but should be in base game. Doesn't need a remake and there are wild animals that we need more that this one a second time in a DLC.
Seconding this a lot. I really don't get people who don't like the breed choices when they're meant to represent "stereotypical" banyard animals.I think the Hill Radnor Sheep is a pretty decent representative of a typical white woolly sheep.
I just can't stand the choice of goat, if we got a british breed that comes in lighter colors, it would have been a far better choice than what we got.Seconding this a lot. I really don't get people who don't like the breed choices when they're meant to represent "stereotypical" banyard animals.
Because i would much rather have the breeds that fit petting areas in zoos rather than what represents a farmSeconding this a lot. I really don't get people who don't like the breed choices when they're meant to represent "stereotypical" banyard animals.
I think that'd be best to catch people up to speedAs far as the "results of the game as opposed to my own thoughts" go, would it help if in the original post of this thread I add a dropdown spoiler that would show the general consensus for each animal from everyone who has voted? For example: - Markhor (Consensus: Essential or DLC, mostly Essential)
Can be left out entirely. It's not even my bias against domesticated species talking, there are objectively better sheep choices. Maybe replace it with a breed like the Merino, or the Valais Blacknose for the cuteness factor.Animal #4 - Hill Radnor Sheep

Which category does it fit into?
- Essential for Planet Zoo 2 Base Game
- Save for PZ2 DLCs/Deluxe
- Doesn’t need to make it but sure
- Can be left out entirely
It's not the best breed choice but not the worst either. And it's a nice basic looking sheep. I would say: doesn't need to make it but sure.Animal #4 - Hill Radnor Sheep

I would argue to the contrary. We do need them so we don't have to go through the pain of a dedicated DLC to them againWhile we do need some "petting zoo" type animals in the base game, I'm gonna put this one in the Doesn't need to make it but sure category.
Honestly I'd rather not pay a premium price for any animal that was in PZ1. Either add them all to the base game (best choice), scatter them throughout updates, or don't bother at all. Better to lose a few species (which will probably just be modded back in a few month's time) than to promote anti-consumer practices. This is one those situations in which i think is not an essential animal by any means but it looks so good and is just a basic domestic animal to have (and i rather have those be taken care of in the base game and not in DLCs) so it should be in base game. I deffinetly don't want a second farm pack in the sequel.
So yeah not essential, but should be in base game. Doesn't need a remake and there are wild animals that we need more that this one a second time in a DLC.
So not essential but not DLC material either, doesn't really fit any if the cathegories haha
Doesn't need to make it in but sure.Animal #4 - Hill Radnor Sheep

This is a weird one for me. A sheep seems rather useful and somewhat important for barnyard sections, but I think chickens, goats, alpacas, and donkeys dominate most of the zoos I've attended. Sheep don't really strike me as a core essential animal for a zoo game, even one with some barnyard animals. The model is beautiful, but I agree that the breed choice could have been better. I think I'd personally put it in doesn't need to make it but sure, but I could see it as an excellent choice for the base game or DLC, whichever has the other petting zoo animals.Animal #4 - Hill Radnor Sheep
I'm not saying don't put any domestics in the base game. I'm just saying this particular one isn't a priority for me. Like SuzieSky said above, other domestics seem a lot more important imo.I would argue to the contrary. We do need them so we don't have to go through the pain of a dedicated DLC to them again
So let all of them be in base game, leave DLCs for exotic animals or at the very least interesting domestics like ankole watusi or yak.
How do you think it’s essential? We didn’t, it’s my placement. The thread is for the community’s opinions but the tierlist itself is made by me.
How do you think it’s essential?
Moving on, my placement for the tiger:
When I ranked it myself I took it as “ok it’s a tiger so it should be in the base game” but I didn’t think about the Sumatran tiger. While I do think it’s also a good move I agree with leaf I think because its a staple in zoo games they wouldn’t leave it out of PZ2 base game.

Well not all. The donkey and the pig and even the alpine goat can go and i won't miss them. Just replace the goat breed with another one like a pygmy goat and get rid of the other two and leave their space for other animals. The animal itself isnt really one i think is essential to have for the game but the sheep is easily one of the best executed animals in the game, so it would be a big shame if they cut it.
So imo its the best approach to just put all the barnyard animals in the basegame instead of doing another pack focused on them. And then just sprinkle some domestics into the DLCs where they fit.
