Personally, I'd put it in one of the bottom two tiers. I find them a bit creepy and their short lifespans make them kind of difficult, but I know a lot of people wanted them, they're somewhat iconic, and they are an important taxon pick. I think Tasmanian Deveils belongs in the save for DLC/Deluxe tier assuming they don't bring over all of the animals.

As long as it has a high quality model and is iconic in some way i think it should be considered essential for base game. So yeah vote essential. It took too long in pz 1 to finally get a tassie devil ans good Oceania rep. All of southamerica (with one or two exceptions) and oceania animals should be there in base game.
Gonna have to second this. With both of these regions having pretty much the bare minimum right now I really don't want to have to wait to get even that again. Oceania's current roster is a solid one to start off with, but I don't think it's one the game should end having, and South America is just a trainwreck lol. I don't think you'd really have to pull these guys back to sell DLCs either once you start introducing flyers and aquatics, since both of these regions are jam-packed with iconic essentials that could easily sell, from the obvious macaws to lorikeets, cockatoos, harpy eagles, condors, birds of paradise, sirenians, South Pacific and Amazon river fish, hell maybe even vampire bats depending on how the system for animals that small works out.
Same goes for some taxonomic groups like birds and primates (with some exceptions for the latter). A good starting point, but I don't want to have to wait to get to it again.

Tasmanian Devil is an iconic and wonderful animal. I would say essential for base game or it could be added in a DLC. So category 1 or 2.
Save for PZ2 DLCs

I think I'll say save for DLC for Tassie devil, this was my most wanted for a long time but as the Oceania roster goes there's some more important species and if space is limited it can probably wait for one of the early DLCs

Essential, i could understand dlc though, my local zoo has them
As an Australian, I have seen dingoes many a time and they are often some of the most endearing and charismatic canids in our zoos and wildlife parks. They also have a lot more captive representation than the Titan Beetle has (which is none). Even though it isn't present in the game, dingoes also come in a whole variety of colour variations, so they wouldn't just be fun to watch, but can also have many diverse colours. Dingoes are also just iconic species, being the equivalent to wolves in Australia and also being one of the country's most notable predators. So yeah, I couldn't possibly drop them out of the roster.
I love Dingoes. It is kind of sad that they often get alot of hate here on the forum. They are so iconic and very different visually from the other canids in game, I just dont get it. Especially now when we also got the Tassie. There was an outcry that the Dingo should have been Tasmanian Devil in Australia pack, but now that we got both, I thought people would be okay with them.

I absolutely second this, they're one of my favorite dogs in the game. Unfortunately, it just seems that dingoes are chronic victims of character assassination, whether it's the whole "Dingo ate my baby" deal, or the fact that they were introduced by people, and may have contributed to the demise of species like the thylacine or the Tasmanian devil (in mainland Australia). Even though red foxes have done arguably even more damage there...
I'm debating enough people on dingoes as-is so for once I'll keep my mouth shut on this subject.
Yeah at the time i thought it was a really boring choice for the Australia pack, specially with stuff like the tassie being there as an obvious option, but now i'm glad we have them and i like them. For good or bad they are an icon of Australia so i think if they weren't in game already there probably will be a claim for them.
Tasmanian Devil = Essential
I take this options like:
- Essential: I want it back in PZ2 because we already paid for it and barely needs any remaster
- Save for PZ2 DLCs/Deluxe: I want it back but it needs a big remaster and maybe it will bring associated animals really wanted by me (like Giant Panda as a headliner of a Chinese DLC)
- Doesn’t need to make it but sure : i would change it for a similiar/related animal
- Can be left out entirely: i don't want it back in any way
So, for me, Tasmanian Devil is Essential (we waited so long for it)
