Essential, no argument. The PZ2 base game needs more reptiles, and this is a perfect choice.

Eh I disagree. I think saving big ticket animals even those from the base game of PZ1 for a PZ2 DLC can be done if it suits a theme really well. Plus if this many people want it in the base game saving it for an early DLC like in the spring would make a lot of sales. Especially considering most will be distracted by aquatics and birds when the PZ2 base game releases, animals like the giant tortoise won't really be thought of that much right away anyway. I would have the spurred tortoise in the base game and save Galapagos for an early Islands pack - but thats just me.
Essential. While I don't need all three tortoises in base game, the habitat reptile (and frankly non-mammal in general) roster is small enough as is, and if I really had to save one for later, it'd be the Aldabra.
And that was wrong aswell, I was kinda mad about this.
Tortoise is essential, also this is basically the only Galapagos islands animal that's present in zoos, which makes it even more important
Save for DLC
No that would be horrible for the consumers I don’t wanna pay for these animals again. I know realistically we will have to for a couple but look at PC2 90% of the rides from the first game are in the base game dlc included. Only a couple are in the deluxe and a couple we haven’t seen yet same with JWE2
Repeating emphasis on this. We need to be less complacent with scummy tactics like that. We have the power to enforce pro-consumer practices because we're the reason why companies like Frontier make money. We should have higher standards for the products we consume.

I don’t think the Galapagos tortoise has nearly the same selling power as some of the early DLC animals from the first game (polar bear, kangaroo and koala, etc).
Plus, those animals tended to naturally conjure up images of a theme. When the average person sees a polar bear, they immediately think “Arctic”. When they see kangaroos, they think “Australia”. I don’t think enough ordinary people associate tortoises with “Islands” to justify holding it back for DLC…
Also, we just shouldn’t be paying extra for tortoises of all things imo.
Essential for Planet Zoo 2 Base Game.
Galapagos tortoise from the Galápagos Islands, one of the most known islands / island groups in the world. Add in some other animals to sell with it like puffins, pelican, a couple full aquatic species, pretty good starter pack to me.
I personally view the Spurred tortoise as THE tortoise

Farm sheep: Save for DLC

I don’t like when people compare it to Planet Coaster 2 or JWE2 cause it’s not the same. It’s easy to move the rides to the sequel cause you can just make more rides from somewhere for the packs. Same with JWE2 there are so many new dinosaurs they can use going forward for JWE3 DLCs. Not with Planet Zoo though. There would be a limited # of selling animals left for PZ2 DLCs if all of the first game animals were moved over, even accounting for the birds & aquatics. Some need to be saved.
Or we just... don't arbitrarily force certain old animals at a premium price and use the opportunity to generate interest in animals that are new to people. If the devs want to promote education and conservation, teaching the players about new animals is the best starting point.
I honestly think there's enough animals still to be added in DLC's with aquatics & birds involved + animals we don't have right now, that would still sell great. Like even if we get every animal from PZ1. Aquatics still have some killer headliners like sharks, manatee, sea turtles (and dolphins & orca's if they want to go there), Birds have some good headliners with toucans, macaws, condors, bald eagle & owls.
What is a seller animal really though? There’s plenty of sellers left imo. This is a zoo nerd game first. There’s not really any “seller” Dino’s left with your logic cause the general public’s most known Dino’s are all in the game and every Jurassic movie franchise Dino is in the game now too sooooo??? Idk this “seller” logic is flawed imo. Let’s be pro consumer and put our foot down and not want to support scummy business practices like that. Honestly the general public doesn’t really know what a Pallas cat is but they see it’s a fluffy cute cat and they’re like oh cool sweet. It’s not like it’s super well known. Seller animals is flawed imo. The sequel will have plenty of famous birds and aquatics to add too and a ton not in this game
For planet coaster as well most of the coaster types (when including full 1st game roster) are in the game. The only major omissions I can think of are an Intamin Blitz Coaster, Steel Bobsled, Mack Extreme Spinner and RMC Raptors besides that sure a lot of variations on already existing stuff but your ABC coasters and rides are already there
