Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

Is this their way of saying they have hostages? If so why didn't they say so months ago?
Because we've known it for a year and it hasn't changed our strategy? (other than to try to get them back)

In other potentially ominous, potentially just normal news:
- the systems in Thargoid Recovery appear normal on the Powerplay map, though no-one can actually start capturing them just yet because the Thargoid state takes precedence
- Sol, on the other hand, has "This system does not take part in Powerplay", which it definitely didn't before.
That might just be a temporary thing and all inhabited systems with active Titans get that, hard to tell with a sample size of 1. Or it might be more serious than that.

well, if you read it bottom to top, it suggests that titans will keep coming til humans are a quarter of their current population ?

I don't think that's it. If we were up against human genocidal megalomaniac then yes, that's the typical threat to make.

A more likely scenario would be " we will incorporate you into the Hive order". But I don't think that's it either 🤷‍♂️

Hold on, how many Powers are in Power play again?

Are we still so sure that they no longer care for capturing humans?

And …

I have not been entirely convinced they were going to abandon Sol even after Cocijo’s destruction - which, if it doesn’t abandon its location just before destruction or if it stays in place in the event of surviving to maintenance, should Frontier not fiddle with numbers from here, is all but assured - so maybe they won’t. (And we know the fleet which accompanies the Titan usually remains in system for another 1-2 weeks before departing, after destruction.)

There certainly seems to be little strategic value I can see in them continuing to attack Mars High, as its value as a staging point is limited and less practical than finding a nearby system to jump to and fix up at a carrier around a star. Two reasons I could see is looking to make it as unappealing as possible for humans to return by thoroughly wrecking the infrastructure as much as possible, or “encourage” evacuations with that remaining battered port for their own purposes (abduction).

Let’s also not forget what Seo said about the captives - that they are “important to the next phase of the Thargoid war”… and they act long term. So, I guess we might soon find out what they were for… or are for, rather.

Is it indicating a family tree? 2 - 4 - 8?
Interstellar diplomacy via Pictionary?
That's how I read it.

At the top there are two figures, one legs apart, one legs together. I take these to represent Man and Woman, based on their builds, but regardless two unique icons.
2nd row, we have two Men and two Women, alternating
3rd row, we have four Men and four Women, alternating.

Now as to the meaning...

It almost reads plausibly as a recap - if the Titan spirals are heading inwards rather than outwards, it could read as "we sent 8 Titans to the centre of human population expansion"

If it’s meant to represent reproduction, that could have another meaning. But the “preservation” theory is one that seems less plausible even though I’ve been keeping it in the back of my head for a while.

I guess we know what else this most recent Thursday maintenance added, however. I would not have figured to go to a debris field, or have gone poking into one… (no real reason to)
