Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Manticore Executioner from grade 1 to 5 which didn't take that long now that material mission rewards seem to be better than they used to be and I better understand what I am doing
The Professional’s choice :]

If anyone with more experience of gun engineering is interested in sharing any better ideas. I'm all ears!

…it can be modded for stealth, sniping or open combat - have fun!

I'm not at the PC right now to post the actual builds - I'll do that later - but, for GCZs, I have a G5 Aphelion and AR-50.

I have stability on both which helps keep them on target.

A little while ago, I trained myself to use weapon swapping. The Aphy is a shield stripper and the '50 rips through armour. The combination is pretty effective as long as you as your binds are quickly accessed - my swap toggle is under the mouse thumb.

The Executioner is marvellous assassination tool. I think mine has long range and a noise dampening doodah (plus other stuff) for outside takedowns.

I've never been a fan of the L-6 but that's just me.

I think it's very much personal preference. I do best with a shotgun, so I have this as my main weapon:

Manticore Intimidator (G5):
︎ Magazine Size
︎ Stowed reloading
︎ Audio Masking

That seems to be all I need for firefights.

For stealth kills I have these 2:

Manticore Executioner G5
︎ Audio Masking
︎ Scope
︎ Stability

Manticore Tormentor G5
︎ Noise Suppressor
︎ Audio Masking
︎ Stowed reloading

I've never found a need for the 4th mod slot. So it's empty on all my guns.

I do have an Aphelion and L6, which I used for fighting those Thargoid settlement drone thingies. They have no mods, and are G3 or something.
Thanks I've made some adjustments to my planned optional upgrades.

I had not considered an AR50 for "flesh". I've just been killing shields and flesh with the grade 5 TK Aphellion sometimes switching to the grade 3 Karma hand gun for flesh.
Look forward to seeing your builds - I know they are on this thread somewhere but I'll never be able to find them.

I used to use two Aphy's but they're not the last word in armour puncture. Particularly when you're head-to-bead with the tank that is the enforcer.

With the sharpshooter, their armour is made from tissue paper so I don't bother swapping.

Be a few hours before I can get back online... but I'll deffo post the builds.

As promised.

I use two Dom loadouts, one for during the day, one for night:

And these are my gunz:

Note: these are my GCZ builds. I have other suits/builds for different scenarios in combat - as welk as further stuffs and weapons for other er... stuff.

I did only 1 massacre mission and I used the Dom day build above. It wasn't that difficult. Once you've done a few high CZ's, ground combat feels quite natural. Mind you, any lack of concentration will be your undoing. Especially if a sharpshooter and enforcer hit you at the same time - and they seem to have knack for it.

Thank you very much. I have book marked this post so I can take a closer look tomorrow.

I just tried my grade 5 Manticore Executioner in a medium GCZ for the first time.
Two shot kills if you do it right - one for shield stripping, the other for the kill.
I think I'm in love
It's a nice gun - if you get close enough. They don't like it up 'em!

Edit Oops. Referred to the Intimidator! Silly me. The Executioner is a completely different beast :D

It can actually take a third if you are confronting an Enforcer with reinforced armour (unless your second shot is a header ofc), but yes, a G5 Exie is a highly efficient weapon in the right hands :)

I'm down until tomorrow, one of our mut's decided to chew through my USB controller cable. It coudn't have been my dog, it had to be the wifes dog. :D
In winter my terrier / tribble doesn't do that sort of thing because I've got a heated floor mat under the desk. So he's not interested in anything other than curling up on there. Which has been... unhelpful... to sim racing once or twice, when you go for the clutch and the pedal seems strangely furry all of a sudden.

Which reminds me, I still haven't tried binding all the SRV controls to the wheel and pedals. I really need to make a video of that. Cmdr Vatanen at your service.

It does but I'm not sure that gun really benefits from it.

Hmm.

It becomes useful (i’d dare say essential even) when using an Exie as more of an open combat weapon, rather than just for sniping - i’ve been using it in combination with a more snappy standard range build on a Dominator as a bit of an experiment …the rather hectic kick despite stabilisation tends to limit it to more snipey stuff, ie: from a fixed position - also wondering if this might just be a result of the stability mod conflicting with faster handling, which i add to all my combat builds
