DLC 19 Speculation

Wait Swjos those are faux water pieces, people just used them as glass before there were glass pieces 😂
😂 Now you know what I do more often: Watch PC2 content or start the game.

I still can't motivate myself to give the game another try because of control and UI changes, but I love what theme park enthusiasts do with it

Tbh, the free updates used to be awesome but have been lacking quite a while.

In a perfect world I would love a western theme port over from PC2 😅 And the thick glass blocks from PC2 that perfectly function as faux water.
Are we living in the same reality fine zookeepers update sucked but the one before that completely redid how guests interact with animals and habitats and the one before that added giftshops. A single bad update does not make a trend.

I just have a feeling next pack will be the last one with some New World thing. I don't believe they would add the African Crested Porcupine without considering the arboreal ones.

Another one is a Temperate Animal Pack, as it's the ones of the last major climate packs with Islands.

Your pack seems the most likely. I'd enjoy it and ABB might make decent headliner... The only one of those animals I wouldn't enjoy is GSNM but I know a ton of forum members would. haha
Yeah, that is my 'if I worked at Frontier, I would do this' lineup. If I was being more selfish, there'd probably be more local stuff for North America.

It definately wasn't a single bad update for me. And gift shops were extremly buggy when released, which was not a good advertimsement.

-Spitting llamas are only cosmetical for me and quite honestly should be have added wih making the Llama already in the first place. The other big feature in the update was the cinematic mode. I don't argue that this is a great tool for people that make videos but I don't.

- As I said, Souvenir shops were broken for everyone, no matter what system and they were even able to break your save file. However, I amdit, multi-color select is hands done the best QOL update we ever got. Just wasn't the main feature.

- Viewing domes are a good idea, but the way they were implemented, with these HUGE entrances... well

- I will never forgive the Rennkamel erm I mean diorama mode. Guests tours are probably okay but I never use them.
The new group behaviour was a great update for me.

Yes, this was so unnecessary. It and the camera controls were both just dev tools made available for players, from what I could tell. Sure, some YouTubers got use out of them, and after the fact some players decided the dioramas were fun, but they should never have been the main feature of what ought to have been a gameplay update.

I agree thay neither should be a main feature, but I use cinematic camera quite a lot, I like it's inclusion

diorama mode wasn’t even the biggest feature of that update iirc lol. it was a great inclusion for those of us who don’t wanna build a huge zoo on a huge map, it’s a much cleaner way of building blueprints and the like tbh. completely optional gameplay mode that doesn’t affect the rest of the game. very welcome to me tbh

Initially i didnt care at all about the diorama mode.
But i think it definetly has its usecases, even outside of dioramas itself.
Like if you want to build a zoo on an island or on the coast.
But also if you want a specific biome but dont like the huge ahh mountians in the background

I was very anti diorama mode at first but now it’s my usual mode of play because I don’t need to worry about the intrusive background scenery and can have a less overwhelming scale of space to work with.

The only thing is that we really need a full map diorama option because filling up the terrain to the full extent manually takes forever.

I need to use diorama more so I can make habitats and only habitats without loading an entire map and 1,000s of guests.

Honestly over the past couple days I have been trying to figure out why Ungulates have been boring for me. This is outside my personal animal wants and bias, outside of how much Frontier picks ungulates and picks the same types of ungulates.

I mentioned it in the hot takes thread, but they don’t herd. One of the best things about real life ungulate habitats is seeing massive herds of animals sprawled out over a beautiful open space. It’s really something beautiful to look at. North Carolina Zoo has some of my favorites too, they were gorgeous. I especially remember finding the elk and bison to be captivitating.

In Planet Zoo they don’t herd, you can have a field of a bunch of individual animals, but not herding animals. I almost don’t want to make these massive sprawling fields, only because making smaller habitats makes the ungulates look better in game. With smaller habitats it looks like they actually follow each other. I’ll also admit when I am talking about ungulates I am talking less about the semi-aquatic or climbing species. Which the herding is not the main focus over their ability to scale rocks and swim. The main draw of the massive open fields in zoos are the herding animals. Which we just don’t have in game.

Also, being me, I do just want to quickly mention birds. What also makes ungulates great is they can also be mixed habitat species. Planet Zoo doesn’t have many good mixed habitat birds. If you want to make a mixed African habitat you basically have the ostrich, and maybe the greater flamingo. If I make a mixed African habitat I get very bored using the ostrich over and over again. Sure I can change what ungulates I use, but the birds remain the same. Just having a guineafowl or grey crowned crane can go a long way. I’ll admit for birds I really only want mixed habitat species at this point.

The lack of herding and the chaotic spread of different ungulate species in mixed habitats plus the lack of interactive behaviours between them really bothers me. And i love making mixed species habitats. To me this should be one of the main features to be adresed in a future update.
