@Mattius101, I've dusted off my tin foil hat and decided to pursue leads discussed in his recent video.
- Polaris - I've confirmed that Canon has colonized to a system next to Polaris. It's here that I was able to purchase exploration data for Polaris and have an in-game system map of Polaris.
- Mic Turner - Mic Turner is in game and discussed in the systems Alioth and Olgrea. He is described as an explorer, ship designer, founder of the Alliance and an excellent pilot. He was in the rebellion in Alioth and met Meredith Argent where they became "... partners for life". What I have not confirmed is the part where Mic vanished / was murdered in a prototype ship "Turner Quest". In Alioth, there is the minor faction Turner Research Group. They have a presence in the California Nebula and two items relating to Mic. One is a planetary port named "Mic Turner Base" and the other is a planetary beacon called "Mic Turner Bark Mounds" (Both found here, California Sector BA-A e6) Neither of them describe Mic Turner directly or have anything to do with the Mic Turner story other than his name.
- Meredith Argent - In Alioth, Meredith is described only as a scientist, partook in a battle with the rebel Cakers, life partner of Mic Turner and daughter of Walter Argent. These are the only confirmed in-game points I've found so far. Some items I believe that could possibly be referenced in-game relating to Meredith are 1) She was the first Prime Minister of the newly formed Alliance from 3230 to 3236. Edmond Mahon is the second Prime Minister elected in 3301. Why did she leave being prime minister? Why did it take 65 years for a new Prime Minister to be elected? 2) There is a rumor that she was directly involved with the disbanding of INRA in 3253.
- INRA - The story (non-cannon) is that Mic left and is never hear from again. Meredith sent a second ship, the Argent Quest to complete the task originaly set for Mic. The Argent Quest was successful. The un-named pilot brought back a thargoid vessel, but soon after this pilots return, he and the tharg vessel disappeared. Meredith suspected that INRA was involved with both Mic and this un-named pilots disappearance so she organized the demise of INRA with help.
At this point, the only tie between cannon and non-cannon events is the end of INRA. I haven't been able to find anything relating to the end of INRA other than non-cannon stories. If someone willing to read this diarrhea from my mind and have an in-game clue regarding the end of INRA I'd love to hear it.
My theory is that Mic Turner's corpse holds the permission to visit Polaris. (Of course, this idea is supported by non-cannon means) His resting place is assumed to be between Alioth and Pleione. Travel (as i understand it) in the year 3252 (the year of Mic's disappearance) is by supercruise. (Edit; This statement is incorrect.
here is a description of the evolution of hyperdirves.) But all this is just rumor... unless we find in-game evidence tying rumor to cannon. I believe that this tie is in the discovery of how INRA was disbanded. I think, that if Meredith Argent is mentioned in-game to be involved with the disbanding of INRA, that this could confirm her motivation for doing so. This gives validation to Mic's story of disappearance, the reason for the Argent Quest, the un-named pilot completing the mission and INRA's involvement.
I could just take off and investigate every god forsaken rock with a crash site and hope for the best, but it would be nice to know before hand that there is nothing there before I prove that nothing is there.
