Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

I love the cope on Mike's phone-in today:

"Maybe the shop-bought blades will be the basic ones, and more advanced ones will be found for free in the game, or made via crafting"

yeah right - that's how P2W games work :D
Maybe the company with a decade plus old plan could communicate that. Or let the Knights assemble and spin some more yarn

After raising over $800 million from its community, Star Citizen's developer delays the release of a new ship upgrade as players baulk at having to pay for it - PC Gamer (18 May 2025)

"“In space no one can hear you scream….” Unless you buy the Star Citizen Mega Microphone 5000 for the princely sum of $25 earth money, every pilot should have one so they can shout GG at the devs for producing such an amazing piece of vapourware." - a comment on the Gaming subreddit.

What's new in SC land?

For some reason my YouTube feed recommended a video that CIG have apparently "gone too far" and spent $800m.

(I last logged in here a few years back when CIG was ~$500m in the hole so so tldr; )

EDIT: Oh, the Idris. Again. Or, rather, still.

Not just the Idris. They are now selling bomb bays and "blade" upgrades to ships on their store.

This has caused:
a) Massive outrage in the community
b) Massive sales on their store

SC is a puzzle wrapped in an enigma.

So fine to pay $many for a powerful ship but not fine to pay $some for upgrades.

It was always pay-to-win so ¯\(ツ)

The article quotes SaltEMike. :)

For some reason the article also claims the selling of blades has ben delayed, but they're still on the store.

you got a power plant installed on that bad boy? Double check, sometimes they disappear.

poof

OP said:
oh um what if hypothetically every single ship component says empty on the vehicle screen

OP said:
ok it appears to be that my ship spawned with no systems components in it. no coolers, no power plant, absolutely nothing. apparently the devs policy is they wont fix it or reset the ship and the ship is unusable until i rebuy every single component of the ship somehow while broke and stranded. thanks cloud imperium.

That sucks, same thing happened to me. You could melt it and then buy back
