DLC20 Discussion (maybe, but why not?)

PZ2 would likely start with a roster of like 60/70 habitat animals and a bunch of new aviary and aquarium species. Why holdi t in comparison insteado f treating it as a new game?
If the same models and the same engine are being used, it is 100% valid to make a comparison between PZ and a sequel. This isn't a Zoo Tycoon situation where Blue Fang had to rebuild literally everything from scratch. Frontier has the luxury to adapt the game as it is in ways that can lead to a new game. This luxury should be scrutinised so it's actually building off from what we already have. Anything Frontier decides to trim better be worth it and should ideally be added back in for free.

So JWE is going to have 3rd game while in the same timeline PlanetZoo is thriving on ONE :D

JWE seems to always have just the wave effect selling as it's new with new movie coming out, each sequel they add few new things, then all wait for the same DLCs and updates to come to be finished like in theSims, and then there is nothing more to do with it and repeat.

While PlanetZoo is having a stable selling and number of players by the strategy they used so far.
Hopefuly now when the sequels are done PlanetZoo will get even more love again :)

Bold to assume that Jurassic Park sequels will end
Well if they are giving money to Frontier and that helps PZ then keep them coming lol I just don't watch the franchise anymore since JW (which i already thought it sucked).

But yeah is funny how this community goes from completly pessimistic that the sequel will have no animals to completly optimistic-delusional that we are getting 3 more DLCs.

Idk guys the leap isn’t going to be THAT drastic to justify the big cuts. You guys are giving frontier an excuse to rip you off which is crazy imo. I’d be cool if we got a confirmation all the animals that are cut would come later in free updates. If they did Charge for the old animals (and there is no significant changes) then it doesn’t make sense and is a scummy business practice. Every animal is somebody’s favorite. We aren’t going to have a zt1 to zt2 jump anymore so it wouldn’t justify that much of a roster shakeup. I know it’s going to happen anyways cause clearly it works for them and you guys justify it, and yes I will probably eventually buy it, but man these are scummy practices and erode the good faith the consumer has in the company. If practices like that continue eventually consumers get fed up especially when a competitor comes to actually rival the current product. Just like sim city and cities skylines

A ripoff would be the exact same animal roster without any improvements to quality just to make sure every DLC species was accounted for from the start. I.e., what you're asking for. Because expecting the full 200+ roster, plus more, plus other general improvements is an absurd fantasy.
You should look into the new one in July if you’re more of a fan of the dark and scary vibes from the OG Jurassic park trilogy - definitely looks better than any of the last 3 imo.
I keep seeing people saying this, but it's full of yet more ridiculous "hybrid" dinos, this time in the form of mutants. Also complete with it's own Short Round character, apparently, which stopped being fun after The Lost World. And I'm saying this as someone who liked Jurassic World (the sequels less so).

I'm very pumped for JWE3 - I'd buy it for the waterfall tools alone - but not so much for Rebirth. The d-rex looks stupid; it actually reminds me of Giganto from Marvel Comics. Belugasaurus.

I already watched the trailer and looks like the usual.monster fest with creepy hybrids and an excess of action pieces over horror / suspense. Not what i like tbh. I was hoping for them to go back to Jurassic park vibes but is just more of the same they have been doing in the JW movies, for the looks of it.

Ofcourse this could also mean that we just dont get a sequel because they dont have the financial means to develope it.
The bulk of the work is already done - the engine improvements they invested in for PC2. That's the baseline for PZ2. The rest is design work, which obviously still costs money, but does anyone expect PZ2 to be dramatically different from PZ1? PC1 to PC2 didn't see huge changes in actual gameplay. Don't see why it would be different for PZ.

Not to make it sound "minor" but the main thing they need to change between PC2 and PZ2 is the UI. They tried streamlining it between PC and console, favouring console players, which is extremely stupid because they make PC games. Of course PC players aren't clamouring to play a console game on their PC's. Building sims are so much worse on console across the board. I think they've probably realised that.

Hopefully they'll redesign the UI for PC players when it comes to our Zoo sequel.

Understandable, I'm just excited for the movie to actually be scary unlike the last few films. Plus its not just the mutants - they're adapting the T-rex river scene, Mosasaurus actually has an important scene to itself, more of the Quetz, and Spinosaurus is back. Plus, almost all of the dinosaurs look a lot better than the past few films - The rex being maybe the best looking rex in the franchise.

Idk man games have done it before. I think we should ask more of the products we’re paying for

People said this about Fallen Kingdom. Never trust trailers for an accurate tone
I'm not trusting it 100% but really? Idk with shots like these I have a bit more faith in the film than the last ones. Plus Gareth Edwards has a lot more experience with this kind of style and creating suspense.

The first one has a lot of the action hero vibes I've come to expect from JW movies, and the second one reminds me of that one scene from Godzilla (2014). I wouldn't exactly put them in the same tier as JP and TLW

I just think its hella funny how the new JW movies mirror the plot of the first movie irl.

Clair and owen have a discussion in the first one that the "normal" dinosaurs arent exciting enough anymore so they created the indominus rex as a new attraction to get people back in the park.

And the exact thing is happening irl where every movie needs to have a new bigger and badder dinosaur "villain", because otherwise people wouldnt care.
Do that song and dance a couple times and we arrive at the present day with straight up dragons and the unholy lovechild of M.U.T.O and a dolphin as the new attractions for the next movie 😂
