unless those patch notes are updated, this one isnt being fixed. But looks like mroe data will goto server and to client, some of the pirate missions are being tweaked and statuses like economic boom should actually fire hopefully.

Please Fix the NPC Faction Expansion Bug... We all know its not a bug but a hard cap at 9% influence. You guys have to take the training wheels off eventually. No one wants to ride a tricycle forever.
 
Each and every time a patch list is posted, we get the same type of reply:

Don't you know the #1 axiom of development?

Probably "lump it" since FD have said in the past that players were not intended to get a discount and that the bug was in the displayed prices indicating that players would.

We weren't intended to get ship discounts? Just outfitting equipment? Or was that also a bug?

That's the same as going to the baker's shop, ordering a white loaf of bread. Baker gives you an empty bag with no bread in it. He expects you to pay 2 quid for the empty bag. When you say, there is no bread in it, the baker says to you: I am aware of the problem, I will fix it soon..... How does that analogy strike you?

That analogy strikes me as poor in relation to the question at hand.
 
Thanks for the updates FD. Sure you are working hard, glad I don't work in public-facing development.

There used to be a known issue list, that seems to have gone now which is a shame as likely to cause duplicate tickets.
 
Would like my founders world permit so I can buy these cheaper ships (ticketed 16th dec 2013) still no update on it.

For clarity, were you a Kickstarter backer or beta/gamma backer? There was a bug making some non-Kickstarter backers get the Founders permit by mistake. Some other beta/gamma backers have understandably (due to vauglt-written lists of benefits) thought that they should have received Founders access too after reading others did.

No, Founders World is in a different system and refers to "Founder" backer of the game rather than in-game humanity.

AFAIK the discount was originally intended for outfitting only, but the devs changed their mind lately and said it will be introduced for ships aswell.
 
That's interesting, I thought it was already working. I went there the other day to see what price they were charging for a Python, and their price was around 51M - about 10% less than the wiki average price of 56M. If the discount was broken then, I wonder if that would make their Python 46M (10% off the 51M they had earlier). Maybe the wrong discount was only on some of the ships. Will be keen to find out.

Yea, I would like to know more about this too. I was playing 1.03 over the holidays and saw all the ships were discounted at the Founder's World (Shinrata Dezra). I didn't try to buy any though. Perhaps the advertised price wasn't what they were actually charging when you came to buy them and the bug has now been fixed? It would be nice to know what's happening here.

I think the discount was displayed but not applied - a couple of people got caught out by this (the non-discount ate their rebuy) and there was quite a long thread about it.

Edit: I too thought that the discount only applied to outfitting, I must have missed the announcement.

Added server updates to the original post:

- Fixed some issues that stopped some Commanders logging into the Companion App
- Stopped wars and civil wars in starsystems with only 1 minor faction in that state
- Added ship discount to Founders World
- Various reliability and performance improvements

Are these the server updates that you mentioned in the 1.04 log that would be announced by Andy later or are these all new server updates?
What were the other updates if this isn't it?
 
Nice, more updates that don't matter and no fixes for the stuff that matters to the community. Thanks anyways. Was expected.

Please speak for yourself but not for me. I am also part of the Community and I do not know, as much as yourself about what the Community would expect in case of bugfixing.

Thanks for the regularity of minor bug fixes. I am sure you're working hard on not only stamping out yet more bugs, but also providing more content and features. I much prefer this schedule of frequent drips and drops of patches, than waiting for ages until a 'mega-patch' is ready. Besides, in my experience, big patches usually require a hot-fix or two pretty soon after release.

Keep up the good work making a great game even better :)

I agree with this I just really want to be able to influence the game more then one system limitation we are working with now. At this point ther eis no way tot get to systems like Phekda because they require a permit and you can't get the permit unless you get a large chunk of influence in a system outside of Phekda and that is currently not possible. It is also impossible to grow a faction outside of there starting area. Once they reach expansion, all of there attempts to gain influence in the surrounding areas stalls at exactly 9%. After that it does not go up or down. Making it impossible to grow the faction further. This has been proven by the Mikun Mercs Experiment. There are several threads discussing this limitation which is believed to be an intentional hard cap but they use the excuse they are not going to speak about the black box that is the backround simulation.... Take your time, but you must fix it. Its a deal breaker for me, and ALOT of others.

With all the people complaining about this update not containing enough or fixing what they wanted, Frontier would rightfully conclude that they should only release an update when it is huge and fixes loads of stuff. So we would go from frequently released smallish updates to infrequent larger ones, bundling more fixes. Personally, I much prefer the current approach with lots of smallish updates - so I hope they ignore everybody complaining.
 
3. By the time you can't land at outposts anymore you have 20 million credits or more. Don't you think by then you should be able to tell the outposts from the stations by their names?

there is also NOTHING stopping one from using "Target Panel, Galaxy Map, System map" to see just WHAT kind of station that mission goes too. personally i never taken a mission where i could not land. so there is nothing to fix there IMO other then the affected pilots habits, otherwise, its just a inconvenience issue.

apart from that, little steps at a time, glad to see its being worked on. will see what 1.06 brings.

update 1.05 is incoming. The servers will be closed at 11am GMT to apply the update and will be down for up to 30 minutes. Here is the change log for this update:

- Change order of mission contracts in massacre missions
- Change data that is displayed to players in massacre missions

What are "massacre missions"?
