It's good the changes that are coming. I have a load of exploration data from 1.2 and 1.3 I've still to sell. Hopefully the change won't cause any problems, but I'm expecting it to take a while to sell regardless of what I do.

Thanks I'll try that but won't that also get rid of the grid? I suppose I can do without in human space but for exploring I'd miss it.

Same here. I find the grid quite handy in judging distances and scale, but the myriad of blue markers is so distracting and makes the map harder to read, and looks unnecessarily cluttered. :(

I sold three pages yesterday and each took between 2-4secs each to sell (as pages).

As an aside, I am soooo happy about the changes to scanning and the speed of! Pretty much instantaneous recognition of completion of scan with DSS - that is, when scan completes, it is really quick at acknowledging the planet's name, etc.

Super, super work FDev!!

Exploration is a joy again!

Edit: Just had a double-scan, but that was the first in about 25 scans, so we're definitely on the way to ridding this from the Galaxy! Thanks again! :)

Edit2: No more will the scan register, won't it register - it is so quick to show the body details now. Flippin' ace...

- Significant performance improvement to the exploration servers

For those Commanders with a lot of unsold exploration scans from before the release of 1.3, we've started to upgrade the older data to make them as quick to sell as more recent scans. This is a background process, so whilst we have added more server capacity, it will likely take most of the weekend to complete.

Thanks

Michael

Thank you Michael, awesome news!

Hello, after turn change(expansion), we reached the trigger in the first hours, then Mr. Brooks decided to withdraw the expansion Lakluita. When Mr.Adams restore us in expansion, the counter back to 0, since then OCI(Orden de Comandantes Imperiales) has been working to reach the trigger again, but the counter is not working. We would really like to fix this sooner or at least an answer about it.
Thanks,
CMDR En3ko

Patreus is having the same issue in his expansions. I haven't been there myself, but several fellow supporters have reported fighting in various expansion zones and ALL of our expansion counters are at zero for both expansion and opposition.

You can turn them off by disabling the grid in the galaxy map options.

Michael

I believe EAGLE 5 was referring to the condition where one would like to use the grid but the new markers make it very difficult to see through the clutter.

Before 1.3 these markers were much smaller, a much more muted reddish colour and did not contribute to the clutter nearly as much as they do presently. There were several observations about this brought up in the 1.3 Beta Bugs forum - some with excellent before/after pictures.

edit: here's the post I was thinking of: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=148324&p=2299192&viewfull=1#post2299192

Yes - the new markers are not really an improvement. Bring back the old style!

We really need fixes for combat profits!!!! Bounty hunting and Combat Zones are worthless right now. So far I really don't like things since Power Play. Nothing is working right. The mining limpets are buggy and extremely frustrating, the damn things chase each other if you use more than one collector. Plus you go through 4-5 of them before one will stick around to pick up more than one rock! I'm struggling to make any good money since Power Play. It just feels like the game is ruined now. Not having any fun with it. I bought a T-9 for doing community goals, that's a waste now. You guys have put good supplies at nearby outposts and make it so bigger slower ships have to go very far away for cargo. I worked hard to get that type 9 and I get punished for it? Whats the point? Now I can't even make a decent credit bounty hunting. All of my wing mates are giving up on the game it seems. I find myself flying alone because you guys have killed to many good parts of the game.

Ah this is nice, a quality of life fix. You didn't have to do this, so thanks. =D

I fully agree... To be rank 4 of Lavigny-Duval is meaningless with the bounty sistem broken..

You must be kidding - or talking about an ordinary cheapo joystick. Once you get your hands on a HOTAS combo like the X-52 Pro, you'll never want anything else for ED.

I've had the impression that the X-52 Pro had worse quality than the original X-52. But I also wouldn't like to miss a stick, using a trusty old MSPP2 at the moment. Too great I've got two partially broken FFB2s - both work fine except their rudder twist axes, so I'd be in hte need to place my rudder pedals, but somehow I prefer a more simple setup for E : D. I'd even go for my Freestyle Pro pad with Gyro sensors (or PS3 DS3 SIXAXIS) if Rudder control wasn't so vital :D
For the ones who don't use a stick right now probably the Thrustmaster T 16000M should be a good choice, it's all hall sensors and a good bang for the buck, next step would be the Saitek/Mad Catz X-52, and top notch is the Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog + rudder pedals (Saiteks, good old Simpeds or MFG Crosswind).

I don't feel like I'm struggling to make money. I am currently bounty hunting in Lavigny Duval's sector; sure it's not as fast as before, but combined with a few contracts it does bring in good money.
Frankly those RES constantly full of pirates were getting ridiculous; I'm quite happy with the new balance.

Agreed, me too!

So we have less pirates to kill, but they offer juicer bounties after we kill them, right?.
I have noticed that as well while doing some RES hunting the other day.
