No, I would not like to download a galaxy, and have a constantly running .

Eliminate the , give us a static starting area that can be reset, variable difficulty levels, and it can work.

Not all of us need the entire galaxy. Just our own little bubble. :)

That's like asking Blizzard to give you just the starting zone of WoW so it can be offline. Or ANet to give ONLY the zones that have the story quests for GW2 so it can be offline.

I'm sorry but really, asking for this or even suggesting it at this point is a completely lost cause. Elite: Dangerous is an online game and that's how it will stay.

Based on the concept art of thargoids for Elite: Dangerous, which make them look kind of like a cross between prawns and ants... I think I'll pass on snoo snoo, but each to their own. ;)

Get a load of this normie

I voted for On-foot Exploration/FPS Combat. That is first person walking and gameplay in ships, on planets and stations.

Atmospheric Flight/Landings (sans life-sustaining worlds)

The whole point of atmospheric flight is that we can also land on planets with alien life.

Atmospheric flight.

On foot could be fun but I dont think copying what Star Citizen can actually do will not be a big add for the game.

Social tool could be good but the game is not suited for player encounter thus making it a bit wasted.

Social tools and player encounters are important features that need to be improved.

First person gameplay (walking in ships, planets, stations) with first-person mining, crafting and combat is actually very important, because the absence of that draws players to SC rather than ED.

I want to walk on a planet's surface, mine with tools in my hands, build structures, walk inside my ship, do first person shooter combat, trading.

In depth mechanics is what i wish for,
be it :
-some immersive silent running with the need to better manage power
or manually reduce the pp output to reduce the heat signature

-having more than just the boring heat signture, factoring in ship size/shape
for a secondary/tertiary/quarternary signature the ship can be tracked by
(radar reflection from shape/ emissions from special commodities (radiation etc.)

-evolvement of piracy (NPC wise), having fix trade routes, as long as neighbouring systems
are in fitting states, having escorts of honoraries, being able to assasinate them etc.

-having commodities being different in size and tonnage required to transport them

-having warring factions put up contracts to sign up for one side, so a mercenary would be forced to fight for the chosen
or be largely penalized for breaking the contract

-mechanics for missiles, having different kinds of missile ammunition to pick, eliminating the 2 basic launcher types
and granting the player some real choice

It's hilarious that some respond with "NO! Don't make Elite like EVE!!!" to suggestions, yet others' suggestions sound like they want to turn Elite into StarCitizen. ;)

unlike in star citizen there is absolutely no model of the ship interiors outside of the cockpit.

I think you need to study a bit more.....

Its funny, before there even was a star citizen, the design of Elite was to have walking around from the start. Actually it was DB original idea that you start without a ship and work your way up to get one.
So it was in the design from the beginning.

I have no idea what ED's plan is for Season 3, but from the rumors I've heard and based on what's coming I can come up with a pretty decent idea of what we'll see next.

Based on the fact that "Landing on Planets" was a pretty significant change in gameplay from just flying around in a ship, and given the fact that we're getting the character creator this season, It's safe (I hope) to say that On-foot exploration and combat isn't too far off.

Also, the next big step in planetary interaction is adding in atmospheric flight, although it would most likely be on lifeless worlds with atmospheres, with life-sustaining and inhabited worlds being part of the plan in the distant future.

People have also been begging for more social tools, and the ability to create a chat channel restricted to systems with Nav Beacons and filtered to be region-specific wouldn't be TOO difficult I don't think. Time consuming? Yes. But I think it would be worth it to make them game feel more alive and give players the ability to interact with one another more.

Personally I'm hoping for on-foot stuff to be added in with the launch of Season 3. Walking around inside the big plazas of stations or being able to get out and explore a planetary settlement would be very interesting. Also, being able to discover derelict outposts or capital ships and get out and explore them has been something I've always wanted to see in Elite since I picked up Dead Space again for the nostalgia a few months ago. I imagine FPS combat would be added in indirectly via the same way they did CQC. This would allow for match-based games to test out all the different combat systems, weapon types, and other mechanics Elite would have to have to support FPS combat in the main game.

If you have any other ideas or things you'd like to see, please share!

ED needs GIANT NAKED SPACE ZOMBIES

i would very much like a small storage hanger i can store some amount of modules at a station. a longer term goal id liek to see is actually being able to walk around my ship.

So much things the game needs and there is still people that wants an stupid fps game...
Frontier, please, if you plan to make an fps in ED, do it as an very separated payed expansion with restrict relation with the ED game, so I will not buy it, thanks.

I would LOVE it if season 3 added on-foot exploration and FPS combat, even if it was just small areas like small pirate infested ship and bases on planets.

It would be a nice way to add some more customization and mission variety.

I'd also like to see SRV upgrading and module swapping, like larger cargo bays, better armor, or stronger weapons and scanners, etc...

( well many suggestion like star citicen, but it seems without those additions, star citicen going to be much more better than elite, ass many of those are allready in alpha version of star citicen, so why play elite if everything that elite have is in star citicen and tons of more. Elite needs to develop hugely to narrow that)

- Ship boardings and capture. Captured ship sell possibilities and taking crew to hostage that released after ransom or kill them. Boarding take place in first person shooter mode inside ships. You need to take out shields and maybe then have somekind on tracking beam to board ships.
NPC ship crew and marines. Marines can be bought onboard the ship to get more firepower against boardings and make boardings. You and the hired marines against boarded ship crew. NPC or CMDR. This also have to add different kinds of crew gear bought possibilities, armors, hand weapons..........
- NPC wings mandatory, there is many players not online friends.
- walk inside base stations. See other docked CMDR and NPC inside stations. Fight first person shooter mode inside stations, steal other docked ships. Talk with other CMDR and NPC inside stations. Stations full of live and inside stations missions and investable stores, bar, nightclubs, jne.. Criminal fights takes places, station police forces..................
- NPC is not only randomly spawn. Those have true devolopment and career, persistent and unigue ass CMDR.
- More interesting and versatile communications system with NPC, diplomacy
- more roleplaying elements for CMDR.
- Many alien life forms in universe, not just humans. Very different technology advancement, some very underdevelopment some much more than people. Hostile and friendly ones. Totally different alien ships and modules. Animated pictures for every races.
- NPC have unique or generic voices

It's not about having "another fps"

It's about the ability to do this: "You fly in from deep space and sell your scan data at a local station. Your friends you're talking to in discord are at that same station. You disembark from your ship and leave the hangar bay to go meet with them in the local bar and then one of your friends has the coordinates for a pirate base on an earth-like world in a nearby system. You all go out and get in to your combat ships and fly to that planet. As you enter the atmosphere you can see your shield glowing as it protects your hull from the heat of re-entry. You and your friends fly to the coordinates which puts the base in the shadow of a snowcapped mountain in a forest. The station has heavy anti-air defenses, so you all land in a nearby clearing and get in to your SRVs and get just out of range of the bases anti-vehicle defenses, and then get out on foot. By this time it's now raining pretty heavily. You and your friends get trudge through the rain and come right up under the bases defenses and take up a defensive position and open fire. You kill off all the guards and then head in to the base and shoot your way through to the vault. One of your friends took a lot of damage, so you use a medical device to heal him back up. You break in to the vault and find tons of credits and weapon upgrades, then you overload the bases power supply and your entire Wing now receives a decently sized bounty for taking out this base, which will be repaired and inhabited by the local authorities within a couple hours. You all then leave, get in to your SRVs and return to your ships, and then head back out in to space to return to the station where your friend picked up the mission to destroy that base so you can cash in."

I don't want "just another FPS", i want another layer to Elite. Once you add in the ability to hoof it places and have interiors for ships and stations and bases, you open up all kinds of different possibilities that only makes flying your ship around that much cooler.

Imagine being able to space walk out of a friends anaconda to an enemy ship and plant a bomb on their hull before jumping back?
Or shooting at a group of thargoids on a derelict mining outpost on the fringes of the bubble?
Or fending off borders on your own ship?

To me this would be a horror. By going into all the details the gameplay would slow down to a crawl. Time required to do a mission would approach the time it would take to do a mission in real life. I would be very hard to get any sense of progress in such a game.
.
Personally I hope FPS in Elite goes the same way as the offline mode. I'd rather FDEV spend their time on more/better story lines that I can pick and choose from to blaze (not crawl) my own trail including game enhancements to support that (like The Engineers). (Oh, and fixing bugs of course.)

This should develop so that who dont want to take part of FSP they dont have to, and it doesnt affect their live. Like horizons, still without it you can play in same.

Yeahhh, On-foot exploration,FPS, walking around station/ship and maybe getting out of ship in space for an EVA, I would like to see all of this before atmospheric landings and weather system+ life o planets so that we can enjoy these features on foot as well, maybe go hunting and walk in the forest ...

I voted for FPS, I think this would be a cool next step to make. Not so much the FPS, but more a 'FPW' (First Person Walk-around), especially for ships and ports (which I think itself will take a fair bit of 'mapping') and with VR being pushed I can see this being fairly likely.

As much as I would welcome atmospheric flight, I think there are just too many variables in altering the physics engine to accommodate this that I feel this will still be a fair amount of time before we see this.

NPC Wingmen, definitely.

WHAT I REALLY WANT: Just to have the HUD appear on the space-helmet visor, not the canopy. I mean apparently there is a neurolink that allows the pilot's brain to connect with the SRV turret, surely we can have a visor HUD as well (if not a similar link with the ship)? I was tempted to vote 'Other' for this, but it seems such a simple addition (possible Life Support module option?) that it didn't really require a 'wish' as it were.
