More mocking that's just a flat out lie.

You can either stand yaw or you can't. Make up your mind.

Unskippable cut-scenes are so last century.

My flight control config is the same across the board, stick for pitch and yaw, twist for roll and throttle for zoominess. I then adapt my flying style to the game I'm playing, or not playing in the case of failed kick-starter tech-demo's.

It depends on the game. Play the original Elite - it has no yaw - therefore no yaw in Elite Dangerous makes perfect sense. Play TIE fighter - it has yaw, so yaw in any remake would make perfect sense. Play Star Citizen - and mouse wiggle everywhere to your hearts content :D

Correction. Star Citizen is it's own game, so yaw makes perfect sense.

A lie is a lie.......

And in one fell swoop you've destroyed all logical arguments against SC implementing effective yaw. ;)

Absolutely. By the most generous estimates made regularly here, SC wasn't in development at until at least 10 years after the 90s. ;)

And by most sane posters estimates, they could tell that Stigbob's orginal comment was meant as a joking satire on Chris Roberts' apparent lack of basic understanding of how game development has changed since he last was involved *directly* with a game project (no, Freelancer does NOT count), rather than a direct comparison of the TIE Fighter games and SC.

It must be said though, at the current rate of "progress" it's very likely that Star Citizen won't see any tangible release date until 202X, or something. :)

Of course. That kind of mocking is typical here, which is why I said "More mocking that's just a flat out lie." The fact that it's intended to mock SC doesn't excuse the lie.

Because yaw is the biggest issue we have the Flight Model...yup

/sarcasm

Doesn't matter whether it's the biggest issue or not. It's brought up none the less.

So what?...mocking games with blatant flaws is entertaining.

No one asked you to come here...if the jesting is too much to handle, there are other places.

Nobody is mocking. The facts are simply being presented as they stand. The evidence is there for all to see. What people make of that to form their own opinion is entirely up to them, but the facts remain, by virtue of being fact.

Ahh, so you're trying your hand at getting your very own "Special Snowflake" award from Uncle Roberts then, because heaven forfend that you, Mr GordFreeman, should have to see such vulgarity as is regularly practised at this very forum!

Also, please confirm that you have seen Stig's joystick/HOTAS set up with your own peepers and that you know for a fact that he is "lying"? :)

Well, that isn't true...flip back some pages and you can definitely see some good ole mockery...from all sides.

That is fair game in my book though. As long as we aren't mocking other forum members, its all good.

I don't know. My joysticks work fine. :D

Yup, joysticks do work well in SC, I can attest to that having played several hours in AC and PTU with only a joystick and keyboard.

I still haven't found it better than m+kb for dogfighting, but for blasting around Port Olisar, nothing beats a stick.

Hold on, I don't get it. Star Citizen's lousy flight model and combat is good because Tie Fighter was fun? Phew.

. My joysticks work fine

Oh c'mon. There are literally THOUSANDS of complaints on the RSI forums about the terrible joystick support and controller balance issues.

Well there is some good old-fashioned jocularity, but "mock" I would suggest is more deliberately antagonistic than simply having to only be able to point at something and laugh uncontrollably :)

I think at this stage you are getting your knickers in a twist with the wrong person (and making personal attacks).

I've never criticized SC's yaw, I've said the flight model is terrible, awful, broken, worse than x-com interceptor, and I've said it's a dumbed down mouse flight freelancer clone. But I couldn't care less about the yaw rate, which is why I've never mentioned it.

I don't understand what point you think you are making, (other than setting yourself up for an infraction obviously).
