you know it was good discussion.
I would have never guessed that you would call Chris Roberts delusional in one of your arguments.
That was totally unexpected.

I didn't specifically say that, but it holds some truth to it, nothing to argue about. Only thing i want to add is that i'm sorry if i offended anyone, wasn't my intention.

Well… maybe those rational and competent people if/when they hear of the comparison you made. :p

If CR is offended by me calling his released product a huge pile of steamers that isn't fit for purpose, then all he has to do is release a product that isn't a huge pile of steamers.

IceGryphon:

I might be wrong here but I'm sure I saw your name in a list of confirmed SC refund receivers recently. Is that right? Maybe you've already said you were a refund receiver and I haven't read it.

So... SC got funded on a certain premise, but is being developed along a different one, and may be released as another one (MVP)? My confidence is so high fidelity I think I'll buy another Idris.

Sort of.

It might not be the same guy I'm genuinely asking cos I saw the name and it stuck in my mind.

Confused also. If it is same guy then he seems pretty pleased to be refunded there.

If you think their video output is entirely worthless, you shouldn't pay money for it, i wouldn't do that either.

Again, not the point. But I only backed once, during the kickstarter (no regrets), when there was no mention of producing multiple video magazine shows, just "community updates". Although I can guess who came up with the idea.

Multiplayer for itself is a "game changing" feature, doesn't having anything to do with NMS, you don't have to advertise multiplayer as "game changing".

Every feature is "game changing" if you want to go that route, but then you'd have to apply that to the countless things missing from SC as well. But it's odd to suggest that your perception of a game's features is more valid than the intent of the designer, although it makes sense considering how some people get so caught up in games like NMS or SC.

Don't fret and don't take it personally. You're just at the tail end of quite a stressful patch even for this thread with a series of waves of SC fanatics - and i'm in no way including you in that - who've pretty much forced a rehash of the whole saga two and a half times over and managed very effectively to squash a whole load of interesting chat that we're finally getting back to

I'm not sure folk have the safeties back on yet, hope it wasn't too startling - it's only the zealots that aren't welcome here I think.

Reddit just noticed this thread:
https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/512ulc/whats_with_frontier_forums_sc_thread_oo/

I mean, CIG and frontier are on good terms, I got the impression that despite differences both communities were going to have mostly good will toward each other...but holy crap I wasn't expecting the frontier community to engage in general FUDdery (e.g literally insisting that the 3.0 demo was pre-rendered and/or scripted), on chris roberts, on CIG, etc.
I've been wishing nothing but the best for frontier, but it hurts a little to see so much toxicity from their userbase aimed at our community, and at CIG's devs. I know I've probably been really out of the loop about this for a while, but honestly I'm stunned :(

Toxicity? I don't ever recall ED fans making death threats, whereas we have this on record from within the SC fanbase.

And icegryphon, no offense taken and every opinion is welcome.

I guess that is the cue for the next group of superheroes to parachute in behind enemy lines and "correct all the outrageous falsehoods being peddled by bitter haters..."

Round we go again :/

I own both Elite and SC/SQ42, I enjoy both, I have given Frontier over £100 and SC £35, value for money SC is good, I prefer the FM in SC to ED. I play the PU in solo mode for smooth framerate and stable play and play alot of Arena Commander.

Arena Commander is worth 35 quid on it's own for me, I have had that much fun with it.

If and when 3.0 comes along I will pledge more and CCU to a Super Hornet.

SQ42 looks a definite, they have the tech now to do that already, they just need the ships and cut scenes for the single player campaign finished.

Both games can coexist, they are VERY different games.
