Not sure if they had enough polygons to pass the fi-deliciousness requirements? ;)

I don't think they are running out of cash. I strongly suspect that due to having to acknowledge that their ToS refusals will not hold up to legal scrutiny, they have had to change tack to deny refunds through emotional manipulation.

Yeah, the stick didn't work, so now the tears are the new "weapon".

Thanks god CIG never did bait&switch on us [praise]

I think Croberts is shrewd with money acquisition, you don't get to stay where he is, being a producer on Holywood films, without having some marketable skill and importantly: success. It's funny that his marketable skill is his marketing.

If I was good at marketing the next skill I would learn is what to do with all the money to make it go as far as possible. To make "more" money from that money, through investment, tax schemes and the like.

I imagine he's the guy they used to make the pitch to investors during his time as a producer, to collect all the money they needed. Then him and his cohorts make that money go as far as possible. Then they blow it all on unnecessary expenses.

I think he is a terrible project manager and needs to put someone else in charge of his baby, while he focuses on the marketing. He needs to take the features and systems and jpegs his team create and then make tediously long speeches that cause their whales vomit up money. Then he needs to disappear back into a cave while he prepares for his next big speech.

I don't think they're doing too bad on money, but I don't think it has all come through funding. I think he's gone to some personal investors that he would have used during his time as a producer and pitched them this product - not the Star Citizen game, but the Star Citizen development. He's gone "there is more money to be made in the crowdfunding than there is in the development of the game."

He keeps development going like this for as long as possible and making certain there is something to market to the whales, and they will continue to make money.

I doubt the product at the end is going to make half as much money as the crowdfunding has so, it makes sense from the perspective of the business.

And then the Onionhead wore off.

CR is NOT a Hollywood producer. He may have been involved in productions but he is not held as anyone of ANY regard whatsoever in Hollywood.

I dont Apologize for Mistakes of Others.
The thing is I would actually Offer to Admit that I am wrong about them being Trustworthy if they Fail to Deliver Alpha 3.0 within 2016.
But I would only do that in exchange for you Admitting your Wrong about ED being Trustworthy if they Fail to Deliver.
Just that Unfortunately ED is not making any Promises they could Break to begin with.
Coming Soon is unfortunately not an Promise and cannot be Broken.

So what can you offer in exchange on this Bet ? :)

1.
Yes you Are.

2.
I would Wait even Longer if in Exchange I get a Proper Game I can Play.
Because this is the one thing to be mentioned here as well.
ED did Deliver their MVP by 2014. But lets be Honest. There was seriously very very little to do in ED back then.
Mining was a Joke. Bounty Hunting was Fun for maybe 2 Hours. Missions are Bugged as Hell even up to this Day. So everyone only Spacetrucked Wares from A to B :)
So if in exchange for Waiting till 2020. I would get a Game that Includes the Progression Tree up to Capital Ships. With lets say 50 Systems that have some Life to them. (Stations and Places that have a basic Life Feeling to them)
An Proper Crime Punishment System that Prevents Senseless Griefing so the Game can be Played without constantly worrying about PvP.
And Finally. An System of Missions and other stuff you can do in that Universe to Progress and have Fun.
I would more than Happily wait until that.

This goes for ED as well by the way.
If ED announced that they would Introduce Destroyer Class and Cruiser Class Ships in Season 4. As well as Reworking the Mission Systems and the Crime Punishment System for Open. Which would be Due for 2020. I would Gladly buy Season 3 in between. And Season 4 the moment they Offer it.

3.
I Paid the Money I paid for it. Not for the Entire Game including Stretch Goals.
I backed it when it still was just the Base Game.
A Persistent Universe with Spaceships in which I could similar to X3 Progress to one Day Fly an Capital Ship.
Including NPC Crew while making Money and Having some Fun Fighting stuff etc.

Thats why I continuesly say that you guys are doing a Double Standard and are Biased like Hell.
Both CR and DBs Visions are not all that Different. Both made Tons of Promises.
The Difference is that DB from the Start First Sold you the Unfinished Game. Never Promising that he will ever Finish the Game to actually Fullfill all the Promises he made.
While CR actually Promised that he will Finish the Game he Promised. And attempted to have it Finished as far as Possible BEFORE releasing it.
Now that the Promises List has Grown ever longer CR now Shifted towards also First Releasing the Game so Far and then Build up on that.

4.
Incorrect.
We got 2016. And Star Citizen has as far as I know never Proclaimed to Release the Game by 2013.

5.
Keyword"
It has been Produced on 1/10 of the Money.
Yes. And it also contained alot less Features on this Production.
Now how much Money has since then gone into Development of the Promises ?
And how much more Money will go into actually Realizing more Features in the Future ? :)

Paying in Installments or Paying right up. Doesnt change the Cost.
If DB really goes through with all of his Promises. The Cost of ED will ultimately amount to the same as SC.

6.
Nobody is Perfect.
HAVING ONE part where it would have been smarter to do something ED did. Doesnt mean its Bad.
Just so you know. Up to this Day I believe ED would be far Smarter to do several things which SC did.
Like going for Capital Ships.
Or not Splitting the Game into Seasons which means some Players cannot Compete in Open because they for example Lack Engineers.
As well as not going for a Power Creep Approach of Ships having completely ridiculous Price Increase. From Smaller Ship for 400k Credits going to another Ship nearly the same Size being several Million Credits.

Being more Efficient in Management is not the Ultima Ratio Mate.
Its just one Part of many.
Many Mafia Organizations have far Superior Management to Legal Companies. But that alone does not make em Better.

Nope.
See Mate here is the Difference.
I see Bad and Good things on both Sides.
This Includes Critisizing that SC Failed on making sure to Release a Game First before adding more and more stuff.
This however also Includes that ED is creating an Power Creep which Border Pay 2 Win Situations thanks to Adding Features in Payed Upgrades which then Exclude the Original People who Backed and Bought the Game because they either have to Buy it as well or cannot Compete anymore.

Do you really think. That someone who Backed SC and has yet to get his Game.
Feels more Betrayed. Than someone who Backed Elite Dangerous. And now has to Buy Horizons to get the First Fraction of the Features he got Promised at start ? :)

Can you not see just how Biased you guys are there that you Ignore such Mistakes and Problems for ED. While Picking on every Mistake that SC made relentlessly ? :)

I'd rep you again if I could.

One other point, the people who are here saying ED should take their time to get it right wouldn't be the same people arguing that SC is "taking too long" would they?

Haha the hatred runs deep in you Ozram, I like it.

My whole speech is just a musing, it isn't close to accurate. More like a stoned thought of "What if Croberts is actually a financial genius and the whole idea behind Star Citizen was about using the Crowdfunding platform as the primary method of revenue rather than game sales".

Hatred may be a bit strong a word. Contempt is more accurate.

One tiny tiny difference, FD didn't take a gazillion dollars from people, FD released a game (bare bone, but nevertheless released), and FD are using ED as a revenue platform by selling DLC and the customer can buy it or leave it as they please.

Since when was being held in regard a quality of a Hollywood producer?

Ba-da-doom

I think this would be more important than any kind of regard:

Outlander
Domestic Total Gross: $166,003
Production Budget: $50 million

OUUUUUUUUUUCH. Might as well just burn your money in a big pile. Or buy an Idris!

Well, we can see time isn't enough for CIG to deliver something right (can even witness even that back to AC's complicated first launch.)

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I actually like Outlander and the punicher and lord of wars, but that is about it.

Back on topic

Apparently this is the letter that is sent to people who want a refund.

Read the last paragraph.
This means that the money they received has already been spent.

I love the idea of SC. I do hope that this comes out someday, and that it's good. But you know what?

This company is not trustworthy.

Apparently? Did you even bother to do the very basics of trying to check the validity of this letter that anyone could have written?

No you didn't! You post it up as if it's fact and did nothing to even fact check.

Literally anyone could have written that.
