So basically the Star Citizen development is just as rubbish as any AAA game studio it's supposed to be so much better than?
You sure that's a positive you're reaching for?

IDK, seems like some trickery is happening like using different assets for different perspectives.

How is it possible to threaten someone with a broken bottle... through the internet?
I mean, it's not like the bottle is going to come out of your screen, you know... lol
Now seriously, did that really happen?
The SC ships are way, WAY more detailed inside than the ships in Elite Dangerous. I don't think there can be any debate about that. That's the main draw for SC at this point, they do have some really amazing art assets. It remains to be seen how ED stacks up once it gets its own space legs.
Yes that why i dont make any crazy claims about ED blowing SC with their FPS out of the water. We will see how it will go when it comes. I am also interested what else will come with multi crew beside the small stuff we know. I am still sceptical about ED getting a FPS or spacelegs. Because it would be hard to justify going from "fast/convenient" to "immersive/longwinded" gameplay.

wooooosh!
No it was to show and illustrate that AAA studios go through the same/similar growing pains that CIG has gone through. But who am I kidding, sensibility goes out the window here unless you incessantly criticize CRoberts, the company or the game.

Contracting out a large portion of work (star marine) then failing to specify something as important as scale and not noticing it was wrong for two years is not normal.
Basically either the wrong information was given out, nobody took notes at any of the multiple meetings contract negotiations and follow up progress meetings, nobody bothered to send around a quick e-mail with minutes for everyone to see and correct if necessary. Or whoever did keep notes was so self important that they buried the real information in 30 pages of unreadable pointless drivel to stroke their own ego and feel important about creating a big important document. Or the notes were shredded because they showed the head honcho gave out the wrong information.
Either way the person in charge isn't actually in charge, and everyone below them either ignores this sort of obvious error because they don't care if it goes wrong or they're scared to point out an issue because the bosses find that threatening.
I guarantee anyone whose ever worked somewhere toxic has this kind of thing before and knows that these problems can't be fixed quickly or easily.
What did he say about the rest of it or doesn't that matter?
https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitize...ink_the_frankfurt_studio_honestly_saved_this/...According to my friend what was abnormal, or at least bad enough (if a fairly common problem in the industry) to warrant "troubling," was Roberts' management style. The redundancies were also bad, but those happen all over the industry.

Somewhere in a corner of the internet..
We need some fresh rebuttals - can't keep repackaging the same stuff!
Don't look at me - it's moving too fast! Is there anything new from HQ?
Don't be silly - it's Sunday!
Okay - let's go with some Youtube stuff again..
Just give the existing rebuttals a Dundee shower and call it refactoring![]()
Yeah, let's ignore that that i-novae has nailed surface visual style for Earth like planets and FD has nailed scientific part of it, simulating plates beneath planetary surface, thus making them more believable. Again, full Earth planets is easy to do - to do in a game so it feels fresh, doesn't feel dated, looks good from every angle that's the trick. SC another 'demo' won't do that, and that's biggest issue with it. It is same issue with 'demo' SC started it KS campaign (turned out complete about 'having work done and just need to finish touches'). It is just sales step. It is same thing people accuse AAA publishers about - doing demos to hype up game which turns out to be false.
If I would have to bet my money which will get such planets *first* and *right* my money will be on devs in other companies working on such features for years and not CIG who just chases another sales target for their backers to swallow.
Hmm, seems like it's a combination of both artist driven and procedural generation.... Not full on PG simulation like Frontier but something to augment the artists
