Her accursed crew, the damn souls of the star citizen v5 , over open comma and they close upon their prey and then issue forth their Ultimatum
"Buy a Polaris!"

Well they must deliver something around new year as they always do kind of a "important"update at the end of year...so stay tuned.....[wacko]

To me Star Citizen means a game that will give me endless years of entertainment.

Until it gets released.

Then crushing disappointment :(

They're staying tuned to what FDEV will announce for season 3 :)

Btw, given the season 2 planning and the recent events, I'm amazed to imagine I will probably be able to customize my pilot in ED before SC.

Ironically this tactic might be reason FD will be tight lipped about Season 3 reveal till last minute, because CIG is doing this very visibly for ED. I mean you might brag about your bigger budget, but openly stealing spotlight every time FD does release is a <beep> move.

They've already failed, and it's killing the space sim genre by sapping funding.

Unfortunately this. So far I was like - yeah, they are just ambitious project which will release stuff and will check with reality.

After CitizenCon online reactions and way SC cultists silence everyone else pointing out king is naked I am starting to lean towards skeptic/sad. SC/SQ42 project is trying to kill space sim without being made. Finances, enthusiasm which could heavily benetif other projects (I think ED is fine, but there are smaller ones worthy spotlight) gets soaked up into this dream Frankenstein.

I'm more worried about all those "dream" projects to come from greedy devs/studios/publishers that'll spawn trying to follow and reproduce this awkward phenomenon that is SC.

Wasn't there already one from MechWarrior Online guys? With big trailer, awesome website, and ludicrous stretch goals which failed?

Plenty of those around, and not just in the gaming world. Have you heard about Solar Roadways? Or the Batteriser? Same thing: Lofty promises but once you look into the details, you find out there's no way this could actually work as planned.

Yep, how many good games could have been made with the funding that's been wasted on this.

When it fails it'll damage crowdfunding (possibly in a good way through regulation to protect customers), but it'll scare the industry anyone pitching a space sim will have to explain how they can do what CiG failed to do with 6 years and 129 million.

I'm just glad ED got out ahead of the crash.

If COD:IW and the new Mass effect are successful it might help industry confidence in the genre, but even then if SC fails after they are out that's what the bean counters will remember and point to whenever a space game gets pitched.

"Evil" publishers may have been worried for a short while when SC crowdfunds exploded, now they're certainly grinning like cheshire cats seeing from a distance Chris being Roberts all over again, for the free market and psychology study, and the communicating vessels principle that'll occur when CIG fails.

And the crew are real players, their PCs won't power down and their net connection won't falter in any circumstances.
Tornado blew away the house & wirings? - SC still running, chant continues.
House burned to cinders? - SC still running, chant continues.
Player tried to move to another country, hacked the power cord & net cable with fireman's axe? - SC still running, chant continues, player still sitting in front of his PC
