So the usual array of incredibly immature and ignorant posts on here I see.
What are you missing about 2.6?
Oh nothing except the ultra high fidelity first person space combat in a space game which is designate for PU release Dec 8th.
But of course it isn't real, it all fake just the same as 3.0 with planets with atmospheres and weather and seamless atmospheric entry and exit and ground combat etc which will be in PU first quarter 2017 and possibly as soon as January.
So don't worry, your false reality bubble and safe space shall not be invaded by me.
I won't even add that star Citizen will have atmospheric planetary landings and first person before Elite Dangerous and all at much higher fidelity.

PS
I am a Elite Dangerous and Horizons owner and have not yet bought into Star Citizen - that will change soon.
Ciao for now ;)

Whoa! That takes me back a bit - gapping spark plugs...

For those who may not get it:

Actually, everyone has been quite supportive which is more than SC deserves.
Buy an Idris or a Javelin before the price goes up again!

*sigh*
You mean the 3.0 video from Gamescom and was said to be released end this year? Since then not much mention of it right?
Dont get blinded by the "fidelity" because right now it runs like crap. Start talking from your high horse when you are able to play it because SC has a tendency from the past years to show you shiny stuff and complelty going back on its words.

This has nothing to do with ED vs SC this thread is from backers of SC that are fed up with SC handling the whole development of this game, milking their fanbase dry with questionalbe monetisation tactics and get even praise for it!
And to this day after 4 years in AVOIDING any discussion of how gameplay will work.

If you are happy great for you but dont come crying if you get burned hard for it...we all warned long enough people to wait until they release something. But people are happy to throw hundreds of dollar at SC for ships still in concept-stage and unknown when they get released. But complain about a cosmetic items in the ED-Store that cost you less then a visit at a cinema.

EDIt the only immature and ignorant post comes from you. Immature in trying to throw a wrench in here and trying to offend everybody, while at the same time being oblivious about anything regarding SC rough and questionable road.

So ...Star Marine. It certainly didn't live up the "More lethal than CoD" hype CR stated many moons ago (before it was scrapped, the first time). It looked like a generic shooter, and actually, The Orion Project looks better, at this point.

I can't wait to see how Star Marine performs when backers try to play with each other.

First they'll need a LAN using NE2000 cards and coathangers to get pings like that :D

Who knows maybe the got they networking working! Just me being overly sceptical doesnt mean there isnt a glimmer of hope...i mean i waited for 2 years since arena commander for SC and CR to prove me wrong...at some point they should be able to. Either by IMPROVING the game or downgrading my expectation so far that even they cant fail it anymore.

Nice! Mine's a rack unit

I'm more of a guitar freak (although bass playing in a band right now), but I have a bunch of synth stuff like a Moog Sub 37 - which sounds amazing and also has a lovely keybed - and an ever-growing collection of eurorack format modular kit.

EDIT: Oh, I'm using a TC Hall of Fame as a reverb, and I see that you have a Mk 2 Electribe. I have a Mk 2 Electribe sampler but have no idea how to do anything with it! A Beatstep Pro is on my shopping list but have just blown this month's "fun" money on a Metasonix Eurorack module.

3 weeks is an aggressive timescale. Will be really interesting progress if they can make a release and knit some of this together.
I stopped watching the stream to play Mass Effect 2, doesn't seem like they showed anything unexpected... although you could argue them showing what they said they would was unexpected given previous shows :)

I hope they can get 2.6 and 3.0 out soon. This game has really great potential, it would be a shame if it failed.

I still believe they can do it, my expectations being much lower than most people are...

Ok - I've finally sat through the whole thing.

My lulzbucket initially had fun, but is now sobbing inconsolably in the corner next to the beer fridge.

Well, congratulations to CiG for releasing 2.6.... they are releasing it yes?

Have to add a bit of sarcasm though, congratulations on turning a FPS game engine into a FPS game. :p

Also, not sure why they put so much effort in either. Looked like a pretty bog standard shooter apart from the zero-g bit. Sure, looks fun, but there again, many FPS games are. Was there something special or different about this that sets it apart from other FPS games?

Not to steal valor (and I apologize if I am doing so), but apparently you can freeze in space:

So there's that. Honestly, I didn't see anything that set it apart from other FPS games.

No stealth. No cover mechanics. Nothing that makes it "More lethal than CoD" (according to Chris Roberts). I have more fun with Payday 2, and that's not only years old, but it's not really "fun," in my opinion.

I also looked at the Golden Joysticks Awards results, and ME:A beat out SC as "most wanted game of 2016."

Again, I think the big test will be when backers play with/against one another across geographic locations, and not in the same room.

So all in all, two things happened: they found the Gantt chart button in MS project (but couldn't quite use it to build a proper Gantt chart), and they showed off a thoroughly dull, derivative, and shortcut-filled FPS (as if they couldn't quite use an FPS engine to build a proper FPS).

Well, I'm convinced. :D

So .... they found the Gantt chart button in MS project

Its interesting that the chart only shows imminent goals (I don't see an endpoint marked "Star Citizen released"). It'll also be interesting to see how the lines change from week to week: perhaps someone could make them into an animated GIF. I suspect they will elongate like Pinocchio's nose.

Anyway. The way to tell if a project is being well managed is to see if (1) the right goals are being set, and (2) if the goals are reasonably consistently hitting their target. If we see (2) is not being achieved, CIG might be well-advised to choose a new project manager.
