Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 9 - The Canonn

A cooled hollow superconductive shield is energized by an electromagnetic field resulting in the quantized vortices of lattice ions projecting a gravitomagnetic field that forms a spacetime curvature anomaly outside the space vehicle. The spacetime curvature imbalance, the spacetime curvature being the same as gravity, provides for the space vehicle's propulsion. The space vehicle, surrounded by the spacetime anomaly, may move at a speed approaching the light-speed characteristic for the modified local.

It creates gravity from vacuum, need to be very cold. Those spinning petals counter-rotating makes me think.. (too much)

You could write for Star Trek XD

Here is my jump to Merope. Either there is a lot of yellow or I am just imagining this.

"Has anyone honked at it?"

"Has anyone manifest scanned the ship?"

"Anyone carried relics?"

"Anyone tried to wake scan it?"

"I couldn't bother looking through this thread. Someone answer (the question just asked)" blah blah

By Zeus's Beard, does anyone read anymore?

Fugg... I tried to get into this but the forum idiocy/fanboy/meme crapola/cutscene-with-no-relevance/FD-shoulda-done-more/earned-my-RNG-rights has crushed my enthusiasm. Crushed. Yes I admit I'm standing on one leg here but damn, comon now. Good job PCs. I'm sure the UA bombings were the SOLE reason the story advanced too. Thank goodness you grievers were here. Who else could steal rolling thunder in such a monumental gaming moment...

That being said; well played FD. Never had a game that jangled me in such a way. Ever. The encounter is stunning and inspires looking over your shoulder and tingles in the nether regions. And I haven't even been hyperdicted/winterdicted/jellyconedickted.

Ignore the naysayers, Frontier Towers. It's too bad the fat of the bell curve suffers from the pseudorights of entitlement and bonafide slackitude.

Carry on. See you in 2.4 o7

Feel free to let me have it :)

At default settings the thread is over 700 pages long. But yeah. Everyone should read all of those pages. (BTW, I set mine to show 100 posts per page. It's 113 pages long for me.) It isn't unrealistic to expect this at all.

Dont really know how to reply to that

In our discord we have a bot where we do !canonn and then it spews stuff that canonn would say "Has anyone tried taking the UP to the unknown barnacle?" its pretty funny actualy

Anyone been hyperdicted with a meta alloy in there hold? Just saying because it counters the UAs and UPs so who knows

Dont really know how to reply to that

You just did.

Yes, meta alloys. As described SEVERAL times. And CRCRs. And without CRCRs. And no UPs and no UAs. And with. Wanna choke myself out right now for responding to this Exhibit A before the court. Nothing personal, begobogo, but that is what I'm talking about.

Bedtime and save wipe incoming.

Well, my normal encoder is utterly broken beyond hope. I managed finally to wrangle something together with ffmpeg, but don't really entirely know what I'm doing with it. Anyway, I sent it to Youtube and they reencoded it to something pretty blurry, but I guess this will have to just do:

Now, it's probably my imagination. I'd really swear there were even more clouds when doing a jump from 2001c, but probably not. *Shrugs* Do with this what you will. I must sleep.

EDIT: Stonn Mrogg if the nature of a long thread is upsetting you so much, shouldn't you just avoid long threads? There is a lot of discussion and no one can sort through it all, so yes, people will ask this stuff. It's the nature of the beast.

Why most significant digit first and not least significant digit first? I.e. why not --- = 0, |-- = 1, -|- = 2, ||- = 3, --| = 4, |-| = 5, -|| = 6 and ||| = 7?

Why '-' as 0 and '|' as 1 instead of the reverse? I.e. why not ||| = 0, ||- = 1, |-| = 2, |-- = 3, -|| = 4, -|- = 5, --| = 6 and --- = 7?

Why not the combined possibility, ||| = 0, -|| = 1, |-| = 2, --| = 3, ||- = 4, -|- = 5, |-- = 6 and --- = 7?

They haven't drawn it up for us very clearly.

Option one is as plausible as mine. If the system is derived from 'finger counting', I find it most likely that "|" (raised finger) signifies a value.

Can't be sure though.

Agree. 'Finger counting' system is most appropriate.
But why in UP signal radius is in block 3 and we marked --I as 1?

YawVY9G.jpg
 1. starts with no header, 979/1000 = 0.979
 2. starts with 1 as header, 153/250 = 0.612
 3. starts with 2 as header, 941/200 = 4.705
 4. starts with 3 as header, 1153/200 = 5.765
 5. starts with 4 135 "/" 588.371 82 "/" 50.312 136 "/" 69.859**

** it is not clear to me if the #X denominator should apply to both previous sub-blocks, or only the one just before.

Now, here are the characteristic of merope 5c : Radius = 1478 [km], Surf. Temp. = 297 [K], Gravity = 0.18 g, Orbit T = 6.6 [dy], 5085 [ls] from arrival.

Here are the caracteristic of Pleiades Sector KC-U b3-1 8 : Radius = 8518 [km], Surf. Temp. = 182 [K], Gravity = 0.86 g, Orbit T = 196.4 [dy], 223 [ls] from arrival.

If we do the ratios body X/merope 5c : Radius = 5.763, Surf. Temp. = 0.612[8], gravity = 4.77, Orbit T = 29.76, Dist from arrival = 22.8

As one can see, the blocks with the #1,#2 and #3 headers fit rather nicely (not perfectly, but too good to be fat chance)

What is not known :
The first line : could be the probe health at the transmission start, or something else. It is not the distance to sol as thought previously as the ratio was done in the wrong order.
The last block with header #4 : so far no good theory has been proposed (that I know of).

To my mind the UA does sound different after this hyperdiction encounter. I also note that the interdicted ship's systems do not power down until a couple of seconds after the rentry into normal space. My hypothesis here is that this is related to either the carried UA or to "fireflies" transferred during the hyperdiction which are then removed by the scan (the yellow particles)

1) could the sound experts please check this to confirm or refute? It could be the AWBAAK scan has altered the UA in some way & there is now new information to glean

2) I note that the ship is reporting several systems suffer toxic corrosion damage & that is confirmed in the modules panel. Does this only happen to ships that are carrying UAs when hyperdicted? Is the extent of corrosion affected if using CRCR?

No, it doesn't sound different ;)
Read my previous post:

Unfortunately it's not.
That's the background noise the UA makes when is jettisoned into space, because it is decaying. There are a thousand pages in the older threads where I tried to decode that BG noise, but it ended up being just noise. A single unique wav file always looping. Nothing more.

You are used to hear the UA while free floating, without any BG noise.

Imagine how difficult it was to understand the Morse, in the early days, when UA could only be found in Convoys, so always making that hi pitch noise everytime, covering the morse chittering... Huge Kudos from me to Jmanis and Qorbeq even now, many months later ;)
The easier to decode free floaters came only later on...

Does the UA or UP behave differently in other ways after the Alien encounter I wonder, such as not pointing to Merope 5C any longer?

I keep loosing my UA's and UP's in experiments hoping to see something new [noob]

So...they are Fuel Rats? I knew these guys hide something...

Shazbat! They're on to us Surly ... time to shed these hateful human skins we've been forced to wear since 3301 and take our rightful place as overlords of these pathetic human scum (who don't even know how to read a fuel gauge).

Execute order 66!
