Thank you for reminding me how do I think or what I believe. I had forgot about it.

Little info from the evocati build
Singleplayer Megamap Load Times (Arena Commander)

Singleplayer Megamap Load Times (Hangar)

Credit where credit's due: those are very quick loading times. I wonder how much longer they will be for the multiplayer environment - instancing, matchmaking, etc.

Where have those leaks come from? The gloomy depths of 4chan again?

Odd how you are the one that accused Derek, and were wrong. You seem to have a short memory. Why do CIG's fans spend so much time trying to rewrite history.
I've accused Derek of what? Because I have no source for what you claimed, talking about the "Ali B said that he left". While like with other people in the company he said that left and continue to work there.

I have memory, just that. And I continue to see no proof of what he claim of Ben. BTW I have no need of rewriting anything, I only post information and my opinions here.

There is a discord channel and a subreddit dedicated to SC leaks. Can't post the discord inv right now but the subreddit is this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/scleaks/

BTW more leaks

It makes you wonder how they manage it.

How many times have they forgotten (or ignored) that Immersion Chariot dimensions need to accommodate Underpanted Space Warrior dimensions, using the same scale and units of measurement.

Far, far too many.

Sorry, but no I don't follow Derek. So his sources were this guy linkedin account and it was not true, ok xD.

Little news guys

PTU avaliable for wave 1 & 2 atleast, even I was invited so here it comes
Patch Notes 2.6.1a
Welcome to Star Citizen Alpha Patch 2.6.1a, PTU Testers! For the complete 2.6.0 PTU patch notes, you can find them hereDuring this initial testing phase, PTU access will be restricted to a small group of players that we will expand on over time as required. Your launcher should show “2.6.1-503234” as the client version. It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER folder for the Test client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:\Program Files\Cloud Imperium Games\StarCitizen\Test.
Please review our current list of Patch 2.6.1 known issues, and take full advantage of our Issue Council area of the Community site to report any bugs you encounter, as well as contribute to other players submissions.
Important Issues:

  • For users encountering GPU Related crashes on NVIDIA cards, please ensure that you have performed a clean driver installation of driver version 378.49!
  • There is a crash when exiting to the main menu from ArcCorp or MMHC with the elevator UI open. Please make sure you’re not in the Elevator UI when you use the game menu!
  • The “Contacts List” button on the Universe page doesn’t work.
  • Hangar flair item are not persisting through client restarts.
  • Players may experience excessive desync when interacting with the Greycat Buggy.
  • If you encounter any infinite loading bugs, restart your client and select a specific Region, not “All”.
Updates and Fixes

Star Systems:

  • Fixed some audio clipping problems in Revel & York Hangar.
  • Fixed an issue where part of the Khartu-Al flair model was sticking out of the display case.
  • Fixed a number of lighting issues on the three Race maps.
  • Fixed a number of lighting issues in the VFG Industrial and Aeroview Hangar.
Ships:

  • Made some tweaks to the audio for shield activation and deactivation.
  • Fixed an issue where the Cutlass Black thrusters were missing VFX.
  • Fixed an issue where characters in crouch will still clip out of the Mustang Alpha, Beta and Delta when entering the ship.
  • Fixed an issue where the missile cinematic camera would cause the normal player camera to become locked in place.
  • Fixed some unintentionally mirrored textures on the Super Hornet.
First Person:

  • Made some tweaks to the blood splatter visual effects when shot.
  • Changing loadouts mid-game will now give the correct prompt of “Equip Loadout”.
  • Fixed some audio issues with the MediPen.

Thanks Rolan :) Does that comment from Will mean that only Star Marine and walking around activities are available? Better to focus the testing I suppose. Might get some better data :)

That's Facebook, sir.

So it is, linked the wrong one. Still you would think Ali B would know at what company he works at. And blaming Derek for ALi B saying he does not work at CIG is a little odd.

Yes his source was Ali B.

As penance, Ben has to form a two-man volleyball team with Ben Lesnick and go on a voyage of discovery across America that's touching enough to justify the accompanying film crew. Either that or implement VR support for Star Citizen.

CR has said many, many things in no uncertain terms. Yet here we are, guessing how it may or may not end up. Rather than, you know, playing the game and seeing for ourselves.

In this case its about balance. SC needs money, so they need new players. New players will not be stuck in the starting ship for 100 hours. But people paid very much for their ships, so make it too accesible and the old guard will freak out.

Question: how much 'backer money' shouldyou be able to earn per hour? What would be fair? Remember people paid $1000 for one ship, and CR said in no uncertain terms the ships will be made much more expansive after release. So how many thousand hours?

Food for thought...

Cue in gold farmers. The price ceiling of any saleable items will always be based on the real money equivalent of game credits that can be obtained in a given time frame. If you make that figure higher than the usual salaries in "gold farmer countries" then CIG will be losing revenues to those gold farmers.

In other words CIG can't just arbitrarily decide on its own that "prices will be for sure more expensive after release" without establishing in game credit progress rates or discussing a second stabilising reference currency.

This is getting even weirder than Star Citizen normally is, can someone please clarify.

Is Derek being criticized for being wrong on the internet because he believed something a real or possibly fake CIG employee said about themselves leaving CIG ?.

Oddly yes.

No idea but will find the answer!

But for now!
Around the Verse: Ship Pipeline Part 1: Concept to Greybox

TLDR
Intro
  • 2.6.1 Has gone live to the Evocati featuring improvements to ships, weapons, and gameplay modes as well as multiple bug/crash fixes, MegaMap for singleplayer and the long awaited Regional servers for Europe and Australia.
  • Forrest has been working on the Hologram tech used for briefing pilots on capital ships which will be featured in Squadron 42.
Studio Update

  • Rob Reiniger has completed the shopping kiosk design document and is now discussing the timeline for implementation
  • The kiosk interface supports shopping for items (clothing, weapons, components, etc.) and landing pad services (refueling and repairs)
  • Animation team is polishing useable animations (table leans) and creating the female versions of pre-existing animations (work zones, table leans)
  • Ship Animation team has been polishing the combat speed cockpit enter and exit animations
  • Next the team will begin implementing new interactive cockpit start up sequences for the different cockpit types
  • Chris Smith and Josh Coons have been progressing with the improved Super Hornet and the Drake Cutlass Black respectively
  • DevOps are working towards supporting multi-region server deployment and plan to use data centers around the world to spin up more servers in North America, Europe, and Australia.
Ship Pipeline: Concept to Greybox

  • Luke Davis, Foundry 42 producer, has seen the ship pipeline move from disjointed outsourcing to a more efficient template driven in-house process
  • Jim Martin really likes the cheat sheets they provide that helps to guide him in the creative process
  • Luke Davis states it's more about more about function of the design in game than making a pretty ship
  • Elwin Bachiller takes the concept model and rebuild it due to polycount and technology constraints while making changes along the way with some being in the white box phase
  • Jim Martin states that once the process begins the collaboration keeps everyone honest and the creativity productive
  • One of the biggest issues with concept is getting the metrics right and being in constant communication with the other disciplines to make sure everyone is happy with what they're responsible for on a given ship
  • In the whitebox phase a rough blockout of a ship is made and it can fly around, shoot, basically do the basic things you would expect a ship to do in order give to give an idea of the final product.
  • Greybox phase is where they add almost all the art geometry using a technique that is like custom normals, but without the taxing cost of it. Closer to finalized animations are also added in this phase.
    • More finalised animations in this phase: landing gear, ladders, cockpit canopies, etc. because they can't build the final geometry until they know how it moves
  • Tech Design gets more involved as it moves into greybox with the goal of making it flyable and giving the other disciplines something to work with.
  • They also start on more nuanced set up: hook up thrusters, properly seat guns, ensure everything is functioning
  • Ships are built with view to the feeling they are to invoke: sleek, clean and luxurious vs. claustrophobic and unsafe
  • Character can also be communicated through animations: smooth and quick movements suggest everything is okay, while jerking and scraping suggests some dilapidation
  • The team has improved their workflow between Art and Design so they don't have to worry about overwriting each other's work

Oh no, I criticized Derek because without any "proof" other than Ali B posting, says that Ben has been muzzled. Amongst other stuff. There is enough to criticize SC, CIG and others without using lies. Simple as that.
But I may be crazy...
