Posts like this make me sad. Evolution is supposed to make us smarter in the long run.
But I guess by the time we've evoloved enough as a species, so that everyone realises this is , Star Citizen may be in beta.
...so I'm not holding my breath here.
that would be a shame..... receiving bad news (assuming its related to the VR info) sucks, but better to get it out there now rather than me install S42 in 12 months time don my rift and.............. nothing!.
BTW I like that despite working on (allegedly) the best looking space game out there, his twitter background is still Elite Dangerous.he should come back to the fold, there is lots more eye candy ED could do with
Derek Smart tho.... (and no offence meant if reading this) I do not know why his beef is with CIG et al and neither do I want or need to know... but it is sad when a dev (who also seems pretty capable) seems to delight in the failures of others.... CIG / RSI (I do not know the difference) are not just 1 man or woman, there are a lot of people paying their bills off of Star Citizen and will be trying their absolute best to get the game out.
I know internally we all have these thoughts but no need to constantly rub it in imo... esp as a lot of us here (myself included) have money sunk into SC as well. I WANT SC to do well and bad news from their camp makes me disappointed, seeing others clearly loving any bad news makes it worse.
PS didn't FD do the same with a few of their staff? SJA springs to mind.
Interesting to see whole threads in their own territory that get more doubtful than we are here, and it's no longer being leapt on by the hoard. Is 3.0 going to break SC?
I'm just going to remember that Derek said too that Ali B had left the company last year. It's funny that the "proof" is that Ali B posted with his account, and saying what he says xD.
Mindblowing logic
Ali B posted first with his personal account and later posted the same with his official account. I don't see how that(a mistake on which account you post from one different worker), guide anyone into the "Ben has been muzzled" story.
The only drama should come from what Ali B said, not from the desires or imagination of Derek.
I've accused Derek of what? Because I have no source for what you claimed, talking about the "Ali B said that he left". While like with other people in the company he said that left and continue to work there.
Oh no, I criticized Derek because without any "proof" other than Ali B posting, says that Ben has been muzzled. Amongst other stuff. There is enough to criticize SC, CIG and others without using lies. Simple as that.
But I may be crazy...
Derek, 3.0 is a work in progress, of course it doesn't exist. They have an ambition of it existing with a feature set consisting of a small progress towards what they are trying to achieve.
That said, the lead devs are sitting around in meetings (I'm not saying that word synonymous with the whole project) just pondering on how some features will work.
Not going to happen ever.
Other things are unpredictable he said ominously.
An just reading the monthly letter, they are still working on core systems. Honestly this must be the worse team of developers around.
At least one programmer is getting a chance to create a new programming language, apparently a dream for some programmers and I love to see people achieving their dream.
But apart from that, really, what is the point?.
Infinity Battlescape will be completed and out before this game is even in beta.
Nonsense!
There's going to be lulzillions of players in tiered instances, MegaOrgs having fleet battles with thousands of player-owned capital ships, with players at each gun turret or system control position, merch wings of fighters will swoop in to help the highest bidder, entire nations will devote themselves to farming mud, and of course mud will need to be mopped up in case it gets all over the Idris.
Starports will be vast and populated by people and interesting AI - who all have jobs and a set schedule to keep to, missions will be dynamic and non-repetitive, even system factions will constantly be in motion due to this "algorithm" thing.
Nobody wants to play in a empty and lifeless playground. That is why Genuine Roberts has had the foresight to DENSIFY the universe - 100 systems at launch would fragment the playerbase so putting everyone into ONE system is the only sensible thing to do. Think of all the exploring everyone could do together! Org could battle Org over the rights to Big Benny's franchises.
Or something.
The only way to respond is to add other stuff
- You want to farm - play SC
- You have run out of carrots - go to the store and play SC
- You have broken your leg - go to the hospital and play SC
- Your mother has been thrown in jail for nefarious activities - go play SC
Diffusion - yay!
I mean c'monnnn - who doesn't want diffusion?
