Actually, for non-native English speakers, catching that type of irony/sarcasm/humour, can sometimes be very difficult. It's about both culture and comprehension of the English language, but probably more about culture.
Being a non-native speaker, but having lived in the UK for 7 years, I can tell you that actually getting a grip on the English language is really hard.
Easy to learn initially, but really hard to catch the details and nuances of the language.
I did like the salty comment though. I think it was a really nice touch and took it as an acknowledgement from FDEV that 2.3 was buggy.

Caveat: I have no idea which participants in this thread are English native speakers or not.

Back on topic mind, booted up 2.3.01 on my ridiculous underspec lappy this morning and found a much smoother flight and massively improved experience from 2.3.

Finding NPC crew images not loading in crew lounge (will monitor) and a minor audio bug in Commodities, with missing sound effect on tons being added to sell/buy (with hold mouse). Haven't gotten through everything yet but at 2.3 I thought I might have to put ED down for good. Nope, it still runs! (which is still amazing to me).

Did you know : Humour is so difficult to translate, that common advice given trainee translators is for instance when Barak Obama made a joke, the translator may not even try to translate but will say to President Xi (Jinping, China) .. "Mr Obama just said something funny, please laugh". Yup. It's another true story!

Not Trump, he just freestyles it without a earpiece in. Just smile and nod.

It wasn't for me last night. I never had the displaced popup bug as I don't play at higher resolutions but I still was unable to get a popup on distant bookmarks.

ps Salt comment gets a thumbs up from me as well.

I would laugh my bum off* if FD actually did that ... 'we'll just just leave that here', as it were. Or make salt a new commodity, perhaps? :)

*though it might take some time.

Galaxy map still not working for me. I m really trying to keep calm atm. I hope the devs have farmed all the salt they need by now.. maybe its time to start developing?

- Pls dont anyone tell me to make a bug report.

What is the resolution you play at? Also, do you use supersampling?

Indeed, it's fair to say that I am a self professed nut of a fan when it comes to Elite, but some people just need to get a bit of perspective and chill... :cool:

Nothing changes! Trying to access the sodding mission board to hand in a mission. All I get over and over again at Jameson is this.... FAILED TO COMMUNICATE WITH SERVER (unable to get an up to date mission list from the server)

What a pile of dog do!

My next attempt was interdicting wanted and mission targets. Interdiction works BUT i sit watching a screen with a blue background that goes on interminably. Why oh why can't FDEV fix the Matchmaker servers to bloody work. That's what happened after waiting and waiting. And Frontier wonders why some of us are salty!

monk you have to search for and remove .part and .progress files I had the same problem last night as well on both methods and it has happened to me before and the fix is to remove the files ending in .part and .progress
