Also - as I understand it the system that gives the permit is < 15Ly from the locked system, don't think that is mentioned, though obviously we can't prove this is always the case until we have all permits ;)

We know there is definitely some kind of distance rule in effect, because the Sirius permit mission is never given out at their stations at the edge of the bubble. Anecdotally it seems that the permits are only given in systems fairly close to the permit system, not sure if there's ever been an attempt to really test this or narrow it down ... or ask the devs outright.

There were two Kambas but one has been renamed to Mbooni. ("That is probably not the Kamba you're looking for." moves hand like a Jedi)
Mbooni is still permit locked but they never updated the permit that is required for it. It still says you need the Kamba permit.

Mbooni itself is a very strange system as it has a population of zero yet EDDB shows it to contain 2 outposts

I got all permits using exploration data apart from terra mater and hip 54530. Found no controlling faction ports for them. Pi mensae I think I found that one
Even got founders world for all the data from a 3 month trip out.

So can you get mbooni permit? Is the logic that thecontrolling faction of the permit lockef system, issues the permit which you are offered by the same faction(major or minor} in an alongside system if you are allied with that faction, is that how it works.

It's not the controlling faction, it's specific hard-coded factions. Brotherhood of Terra Mater hasn't controlled Terra Mater for quite some time, but they are the only faction that's ever given out the permit. The permit givers have never changed as far as I know.

It's unknown if Mbooni can be unlocked, but given the 0 population and the name duplication (and recent fix) I suspect that it's not. There aren't any faction names that match Mbooni either, so it's probably one of those "locked for future reasons by the devs", or it's a bug.

Yeah, I don't think we'll find out the reasons at LEAST until we can fly to atmospheric planets and have space legs and can actually visit ports and bases and cities and such. They're probably wanting to hand craft a lot of stuff too, maybe seeing what star citizen is doing first and learning from their mistakes.

Well gee wish I saw your post before I went about manually looking each one up. I did add HIP 54530 Gold Universal Group's link tho because of you. :p

And you provided me another idea. I'm going to create a community spreadsheet that anyone can edit that I can check on from time to time and make edits to. The OP will be used as a permanent copy in case someone decides to be mean and erase the copy, but anyone can also save copies and reapply the changes too. I will also provide links to archival versions from time to time in the OP for information integrity purposes. :)

Worth noting that with Google docs, you can see recent changes and revert them. This means that vandalism can be undone fairly easily, and there's no real need to make archival copies as it's inbuilt (you can view the document/spreadsheet at a particular change).

Also, I feel like this thread should be stickied somewhere, or at least a link to it in a stickied meta-guide thread. Maybe it's already been done and I'm not aware of it. [noob]

Great work!
Even with most permits...still do not have the CQC system and still a bit grumpy they removed PHEKDA permit before I could earn it...I return here regurarly to check for news. ;)

Just want to add my thanks to Swift Arrow for maintaining this list.

I'm just about to complete getting the permit to Isonor and then I'll have all the current permits. This list has been a great help in achieving this.
