I think the faces look excellent - I'm sure animating them isn't being advanced as quickly as all that - but I mean, they have a really strong individuality about them. Shame we'll never be seeing Veteran Commander Mason again though .. I'll be checking any escape pods I find for his crispy corpse.

One sure thing though, it would be nice for FD to add emotes to commanders. Give them facial expressions and that would be good for long time for lot of commanders.

Otherwise you see commander seeing beauty outside of cockpit and staying same grumpy face.

Pretty new to Elite...quick newb question: Is this a paid "update/expansion", or merely a patch with some added content, bug fixes, etc? My bad if this has been answered... I've been out of town for a little over a week and just returned home to clean up Hurricane Irma crap out of my yard. Thanks in advance.

Its an update to horizons. There will likely be some stuff pushed to the base game, but most of it is for horizons owners.

I'd complain, but given how poor the in-game storytelling is I imagine you can play thousands of hours and not even notice the Thargoids are back, so I'll just ignore it.

Nice vid! Looking forward to the expansion now more than ever! When the ships fired their missiles, it reminded me of The Expanse. :) And the little swarming stuff at the end reminded me of the proto-molecule. Has FD become hooked on that excellent series as well? ;)

So the trailer suggests that the new anti thargoid weapons are similar to the packhounds, maybe with some chemical or viral based nerve agent in the warheads ? ,..it also suggested that the weapons are not effective against them , so are we being fed smoke trails ? Or maybe there's more Easter eggs awaiting us.

Also, whilst I appreciate non disclosures and non spoilers, I find that actually refusing to confirm any details as " not being allowed " to discuss certain 2.4 content , does nothing but add to the hype.

But hype is good :D
