Sorry. Not convinced one bit.
Exactly how I remember it, plenty of posts on this forum to back it up. Heck I was involved in most of them, trying to justify the harder AI, just put a little effort in, learn PIP management, learn about optimum loadouts.. Blah blah blah. Couldn't care less now.
Thats always been the not-so hidden agenda - give us hapless victims. It has always been obvious.
If people want to PvP that's great - have at it all you want - blow yourselves up and have all the fun you want. But they can't can they? Which shows how phoney the whole PvP thing is. They don't want to play amongst themselves. They might get hurt.
That's the rub; some of our PvP heroes here don't want to go up against like ships and Cmdr's. They might see the rebuy screen and what fun is that? Your own salty tears are not so delicious apparently. So nope, can't PvP against my ship equals.
Much more fun to take my hyper-Engineered combat machine, good for absolutely no other part of the game, and listen to the wailing and salt of hapless Traders and newbies while you heroically blow them up outside of stations. So damn you play in Open where I can kill you! What? No, it doesn't matter what you want to do in a game you paid for with 3 modes. You must play with me when, where, and how I want otherwise FDev is just ruining the game.
Do I have that right now?
Yes.
We now refer to them as GSP![]()
I appreciate that 2.4 wasn't well received (which the reddit thread was talking about.) We said from the very beginning that it was a different way of doing things. Criticism is an opportunity to learn, so this is what we will continue to do. Feedback is gathered regularly so as we move forward we will keep a note of what aspects worked and which parts received the harshest reception to help inform future content releases. We're immensely proud of what we've done but humble enough to learn and do better every time.
You have no idea what you are taking about, like the majority here that manage to die to npcs.
That's not exactly how I remember it.
That reminds me... You never did answer my previous question about the un-engineered Sidewinder.
Don't worry, if you can't find the post- I can refresh your memory. Just let me know.
You know, the one where you imply "skill" is about going up against greater odds?
No that's exactly how it happened. AI are stupid. Please fix. SJA fixes. People die, because they refuse to accept change, and demand it go back to the way it was. Well intentioned or not. People cried. Frontier acquiesced.
Even now, the same rumblings can be heard about thargoids. To hard. Pls fix. It's happening all over again. And I no-longer give a crap, because the outcome will be the same. It always is.
I have a trader type 7 that only flies in open, I will make a video when I have the time.
Hi Dale,
I think it can be best described as the player base are exhausted. I think there's a bit of a disconnect as Frontier seems pretty excited about the endless possibilities as each new thing is added, probably because you guys know what's coming - but we're ostensibly just doing the same things, in the same sandbox - and we have no real vision into the future.
The of it is, there is a lot of content, it's just exhausting to interact with because how many CGs do we need to unlock the next how many modules? Somewhere along the way, Frontier has gone in one direction, and been really excited about the possibilities, but the player base is essentially just dragged along for the ride.
None of this is easy. But it's hard to miss the malaise creeping in, because it's dawning on people this could go on for months more yet. It feels like the entire thing is just plodding along on autopilot - and I am 100% convinced that is not the intent.
But this is what we see. There's nothing to really be excited about and latch on to. Even the new ships, announced some time ago, seem like a distant memory. The game is becoming a mechanical experience. And that's really frustrating. In fact, it's exhausting.

Nice evasion.
What evasion? You want me to fly in a sidewinder and not die? Impossible unless engineered, regardless, why would you fly in it, you can A rate a cobra in 5 hours since starting the save. Noone flies winders except in Eravate, again, you have no idea what you are talking about since you are stuck in SOLO.

Come on, I give you rep and you report me instead?? [knocked out]
Oh that's not how you meant this part to go now, was it?
